Hey bud I'm getting ready to set my hoop nets out tomorrow for the first time. I'm baiting with cheese in a little river about 60ft wide. I usually catch loads of catfish on trot lines in this place. How long do you recon I need to let them sit. Ws just had alot if rain so the waters up and moving pretty good.
I'd wait a couple days and let this big rain settle out so you don't loose any. Tie or anchor them well. 4-7 days right now depending on conditions. 5 days right now would be good till you see how it's going. If they don't load down, you can go 7 for a few more weeks. As it warms up your probably gonna have to get in a 5 day or so rotation
I need to come try darbone one day The state park end is about an hour from me does the wind get bad on that end on the map doesn't look like it's too big of a lake on that side
Darbonne is huge because it's long. Good thing about it is no matter how bad the wind is, there is almost always somewhere you can go to get out of it. You got a lot of deeper water right against the banks, so you got wind brakes with all the tall timber and hills. Darbonne is sometimes hard to fish, but will be good next couple months. Fish are scattered on flats and easy to get to. Ya got boat ramps for every wind. I shot this video with it windy and all those storms rolling in. Ya get ready to go fish it, holler and I'll give you some direction. I rarely fish near the state park. It's shallower up that way, but does have deep holes. Good bass fishing up there though
I believe it's $100 per person, then $10 jars for couple different things like best 5 fish. I believe all that information is listed in the about tab on the Barak Shriners Crappie Tournament Facebook page
