In this video, I am crappie fishing with a slip cork. I give you my crappie fishing tips on how to fish with a slip cork while crappie fishing. I am crappie fishing with a bobber and live minnows over brush piles. Summer crappie fishing with live minnows is the way to go!! Crappie fishing 2021 has been great for me, because I am able to slip cork in deep water. Crappie fishing texas has some of the best crappie fishing in the summer. Crappie Fishing in august with a slip cork and I am still able to put slab crappie in the boat! The Thermocline is a drastic change in water temp within a section of water and that layer is known as thermocline and below there is a slower drop in temp to the bottom but in the thermocline and below is a low oxygenation per parts a million and fish do not like this so they stay above majority of time it’s more defined on a graph as a fuzzy or cluttered screen starting at a certain depth can been seen good early morning and late evening but during hot summer on bright sun days the thermocline pushes down and isn’t as noticeable on graph for major part of the day

How do you locate which brushpiles the crappier are in? Do you use side imaging to find them first?

To be 100% honest with you, I find brush. And fish it. If there are No bites or small fish for 10-15 min, I move and find bigger fish. Most of the time, you will find a pile with keepers if you keep MOVING! I am still getting adjusted to having a fish finder of this caliber. Most in depth fish finder I have ever had. Without ANY electronics it will be very difficult to find brush or any structure. Unless you use land marks on land to determine about where the structure is.

Great video!!!! I’m not understanding the purpose of the swivel. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone use a swivel slip corking crappie. ✌️

It’s a barrel swivel, that the mono leader is attached too. Fishing brush piles there is a chance you may get hung up. When you pull it out, the mono leaders usually breaks from the barrel swivel, instead of breaking your whole setup. Therefore you only have to rig up another leader and hook vs. rigging up a whole set up! I hope I explained that well! God bless! Thanks for watching brother!

I typically hook my minnows through the tail so they can swim and be more active in the water.

I find that if you hook the minnow upsidedown by the tail he will keep trying to get upright for more action

Well to be honest I already have a idea where those brush piles are. So I run directly over them with down imaging and throw markers out on top. You need side imagining to find new piles etc. thanks for watching! God bless
