oh, red eyes in the dark, i'm scared... wait a second, it's just a rat! no trouble at a- HOLY SHIT SO MANY RATS, AAAAH!!! *falls into the hole* ah, crap...
i love this games soundtrack... its very eerie and dark... infact the this particular crash game had a very strange atmosphere... but in a good way... I dunno theres just something very odd about it! non of the others had it. :) and thats why i love this game. memmories... oh sweet memmories.
Yep Neo is more grim personality in Crash 1 , who stay alone in the old dark castle doing nonsense experiments especially on animals with N.Brio. His voice also very different in 1 than the rest of Crash series and more funny
also the Cortex Castle should have been more explored in Crash 2 and 3, maybe in ruins to make it different. I loved the design of the few Castle levels.
Fumbling in the Dark was definitely the hardest level in the game, especially if you're me and you're trying to earn the gem by getting all the crates without dying...
***** It'd be interesting to do a poll and see which level players considered their worst. FITD was mine. I actually had fun with Slippery Climb though.
Does Naughty Dog realise that kids were expected to beat Lights Out? LITTLE kids! Back in '96, it was like get a PS1 and Crash Bandicoot for your kid and dispose of their sanity, or buy them an N64 and Super Mario 64 and give them nightmares of Big Boo's Haunt.
+Mason A. (Mariofan717) Dude the difficulty of this is nothing in comparison to NES games! Used all your continues and its game over back to square one. There were no memory cards!
+Mason A. (Mariofan717) I never got any nightmares. I mean sure it was dark and had some creepy elements, but it was not really scary. Even as a child. I got my dose of nightmares with Silent Hill 1 and Resident Evil 2.
I just had a thought, imagine this level combined with The High Road. The darkness and swinging blades from this level, together with the precision platforming of The High Road. It'd be impossible!
fumbling in the dark is the real final and hardest level of the game, people generally say high road or slippery climb because they probably don't played this (even get access to the level is such a pain). i think this is harder even than the deleted Stormy ascent level, because this is really projected to be the last and secret level of the game while Stormy ascent would be just a regular and not secret hard level
Reminds me at one of the two stages without lights that at the beggining u go from back and jump and jump and woops some free lives crates. This also happens at one of the two stages with the bridges(and the hogs airwalking)
Fumbling in The Dark is the one level, that got me stuck back in the PS1 days. I could break all the boxes, it wasn't a problem. However, I just couldn't finish the stage without dying. Truly a completionist's nightmare in the original game.
+BTandC61794 Generator Room, by virtue of having less of the environment visible. You can just barely make out the castle around you in the dark levels, but in Generator Room, it's nothing but scaffolding hanging above a void of darkness.
if ya want to get the pink gem in lights out get all the boxes in the lab den go back t o lights out get all the boxes then you will see a yellow gem go on the yellow gem because if u keep going theres no more boes so go on the yellow gem you will see more boxes get the boxes go on the warp thingy with out dying then BAM! u get the pink gem and you can use the pink gem for boulder dash which is on the second island of thi
Fumbling in the dark used to scare me so much when I was five years old, it took me three days to beat it, because of those jumping spiders with red eyes.
@dervertica Never happened in that stage to me. And in Lights Out, it was always the same pendulum that was doing the 'glitch,' the one closest to the yellow gem passageway.
Like i said, like almost everyone saids, this isn't the soundtrack for Jaws of Darkness, it has the Temple Ruins soundtrack. Lights Out shares the same soundtrack as Fumbling in the Dark. Still a great epic soundtrack though.
This is Lights Out & Fumbling In The Dark. NOT Jaws of Darkness. J.O.D. has the same music as Temple Ruins. Anywho...the xylophones and screeching noises make this song incredibly unsettling. Like there's dangers that only exist when you're...Fumbling in the dark. Subtle, sneaky, yet intense and blood curdling atmosphere.
@SyntaxMagenta yea i know it is always the second pendulum in lights out, but in Fumbling In The Dark it happens to me a couple of times before. So how would you like to upload a video of this glitch?
of this game the pink gem is at the end of boulder dash get on the pink gem and it will lead you inside where the boulder fell in the hole the light is glowing blue there are pictures of n. brio and dr. neo cortex and there are meat eating plants in this level so keep your distance ok your welcome for the help!
Freakin' Fumbling in the Dark, hardest level to get the Clear Gem. Dunno why people think that Slippery Climb is so hard, got Red Gem on first try after years without playing this game, but this one took me over 50 tries to get (started the level with 99 lives), the damned Clear Gem.
Slippery climb's gem is harder to get in the Nsane trilogy than the original simply because the bonus stage is required. Still haven't gotten it in the new version lol
The first time I got the gem on Fumbling in the dark I nearly had a heart attack, why? I had died 5 times, however since that was before any checkpoints were used (I wasted all those lives trying to get the crates that appear backwards from the start) it stil counted as a perfect run, I was shocked to say the least
Lights Out wasn't so bad with the evil rats in the dark. But Fumbling in the Dark was just traumatizing and nightmarish. I mean all those SPIDERS!!! The first time I saw the spider walk towards me and JUMP at me, I dropped the controller and almost fainted.
