C. Syde65 I have tried to make a challanging level. Ive tried more than I should, some things are going to be easier in newer versions (only minor obstacles)
b oi I was mainly curious to see how the modding was going. But hey, who knows, maybe I'll continue again sometime. I did give my Snow Go files to another modder at one point, not sure what became of them.
I cannot wait for the day when actual custom level mods will make it to Crash 2. A custom cliff level or a custom native village level would be pretty fun to play in my opinion.
SlingSter7 I know, but also a tadious nightmare to mod. But I'll try to replace The Pits' bonus with custom bonus, I just need to figure out either how to make new elevator work, or how to make players enter the bonus as the last part of the level
Hm. Interesting idea. By the way, the reason I brought this up is because most of the Crash Bandicoot fangames made in this specified Crash Bandicoot engine (you know, the engine Ali Alhakeem uses for his Crash fangames) aren't very good, as the engine itself doesn't give the player sharp controls to have fun with. The jumping and running can be pretty awkward at times, and Crash's model looks off in a way. Using the engine for Crash 2 and/or 3 for a fangame would be fricking amazing, but it sounds like a pretty hard task, because well, the PlayStation is the PlayStation. It can't handle custom levels as well as Super Mario 64 and the console it was released on. The PS1's 32-bit after all.
SlingSter7 I had to watch them, havent seen them before. The levels are cool, but the controls are painful even to watch. The reason it isnt possible to create custom levels are missing tools. I cant program, so I fully depend on what CrashEdit can do. And the guy that updates has to deal with tough stuff, the games were coded really tightly and precisely to work on ps1, so there isnt much to improve. Also the code is complicated, scenery, camera and collision are puzzled together and even changing scenery without it being totally ugly and broken is not possible now. Cameras control everything. Collision data is the only thing that isnt complicated as hell. But everything is in hexadecimal so its even harder
Josh Legg I have lost my mind several times. I gradually like original game more. Probably because I dont have to spend dozens of hours changing stuff.
I have never seen the thing where a box appears after another one breaks, but its one of the coolest things i've seen on a crash bandicoot mod. You do this game justice. I'm more than impressed.
This Mod can be compared to MrBean35000vr's Master Quest Mod of Snow Go. In fact, I think yours is harder and better. Good job creating this work of art!
I gave it a try and boy, do I absolutely fell in love with it. :D However, I don't think I'll be making a video of it because it's way too difficult to get everything in one go without dying.
outside the vanishing boxes(dope btw) and difficulty, the fact that you kept the scenes where crash dies or your can't get further and reset makes it more fucking legit lol!
Nezeramos I had wanted to release it yesterday. After dying again and again for 2 hours I admitted it was too hard, so I changed some stuff and now it is like it is
I literally watched whole thing with weird face. And it made me cry. This was very traumatizing. Especially when you are the who beated original snow go skull route with high ego because it was one of extremely salty part of game. It was easy but this is ..... no comment I dont even know how to describe this. I will show this to my small brother because he is struggling with original ones
Thanks for positive review. I think it is the best of my mods, hardest, most inovative, filled with crates and also still possible thanks to loads of lives and fruit dropping from boxes and 6 checkpoints
I love these appearing crates. They're like Mega Man's "yoku blocks" or whatever they're called. 9:24 Oh you, game… This is clearly designed to scare the player with the crate they need appearing at the *last second.*

And I thought the death route of this was hard...(I don't think it was Snow Go, and DEFINITELY not this one, but it was one of the snow levels that gave me a hard time getting the clear gem. But seeing this, I'm happy the creator of this was not a dev of Crash 2. *shivers* Then Stormy Ascent would've actually existed x_x)
Aversatrix yeah, that's the one! Trying to get the clear was extremely difficult because of the death route, and 60% of the redos was because I accidentally fell into the exit pit (there's a ! box at the end of the route, making the outlined boxes appear. And the route is glazed with ice, easily letting you slipping into the exit pit by accident. Those monsters...) and 40% with those precision nitros in a particular section. I believe I died more than 30 times because of that...
Good god, this was the most painful 17:55 of my life. So much repeated segments. Thus what happens when people don't A. Edit their deaths out and B. Continuously screw up over and over again expecting different results. Nothing like seeing half of the video having Crash try to successfully go through the same Nitro layouts over and over again. Ugh.....
This its one of my favorite lvls because u get to walk through lots of nitro bombs for the red gem part, but the amount of nitro bombs, trigger boxes, and difficulty on this mod is just off the charts 😆 And when u have unlimited prince of Persia style rewinds for everytime u make is mistake 🤣 This would probably be a nightmare without those quick saves 😳
Rashed1255 I will make it less cruel before I release v3. I already work on it. I really love original Snow Go, unlucky is they didnt place the red gem very well. I would definitely like to see the death route in runs. Hopefully some runner will try this when it is patched and doesnt lag
Aversatrix I actually didnt know that u could just cheat to get the red gem until I saw it a few months ago, me and my cousin were trying to get it by cheating for ages back in the day 😹
Rashed1255 I guess everyone was. It had been just a bit to get it until glitch high jump was found, then the route got abaddoned. I would like to find some old Crash 2 speedrun to see how were the players doing
Aversatrix I wonder if such cheaty stuff will be patched in the remaster, I think it will, lots of cheaty ways to get stuff done in this game like running on walls, I'm planning on getting all the trophies on all 3 games, this mod looks waaaaaaaaaaay harder than even doing that 😆
Great looking mod! Do you have if you have any step by step tutorial videos or typed guides about how you created some of these projects? I would be interested to give it a try to fix up some of the issues found in the NTSC version ie Tiny being labeled Taz in the pause menu, moving the off screen boxes to be visible in cold hard crash stuff like that. Aversatrix+ Agreed. If we are able to do level mods because of the community's hard work, character mods are a seeable thing in my opinion. and i know that it's gonna be more work to figure out, nothing is never easy.
Have you messed around with adjustment of the camera path? I was able to zoom myself out, which was cool. I am having trouble getting boxes to stay visible.
Alex I dont move camera most of time, only Diggin It bonus is slightly zoomed in and two parts of Spaced out contain camera moved up a bit. ND (Naughty Dog) were careful, they made the game show only things you can see at the moment, it affects scenery and entities (boxes, enemies), so it is not possible to move things absolutely freely. I recommend duplicating tnts and enemies, they are processed even when they are few steps offscreen. There is a way to edit what things are processed at the exact camera position, but it is tadious and difficult. Dont duplicate fruit, they become uprocessed the moment they go offscreen
I really liked it, it's too difficult Great job on this level I really get exited to try this :) Anyway does it work on ps1 emulator?? I would like to play this on my iPhone :)
