All versions were captured from the same capture card with the same settings. Used NTSC-U XBOX and NTSC-U 1.0 PS2, both on real hardware. For specific version differences check out Beyond Twinsanity at beyondtwinsanity.com/versions/
48Gamerboy That's actually true but they both perform 60fps, but at the iceberg lab part that's where the ps2 struggles, but not the xbox even the character models look smoother on the xbox.
actually my ps2 runs the iceberg lab flawlessly though the evil academy will lag if you look at it from certain points for example just before you enter the elevator to leave after beating the area if you overview the area the ps2 will burn
Both versions run at a rather consistent 60, PS2 happens to have more dips than the Xbox though. As for why the PS2 footage is recorded at 30fps I don't know.
+Jaybo Corp.™ if they did it would not have a lot of shaders and particles and everything would be bright like the ps2 version but without the shadows on the characters
RedFlameFox development actually started on GameCube, then on ps2 and xbox, but eventually cancelled on gc due to disc limitations and time constraints.
francovizstudios ps2 is known to have color contrasted games while xbox is known for more detail . This was switched with the ps3 & xbox 360 where the xbox had more color contrasted games while the ps3 was more detail oriented
1:30 Here we see, xbox has better anti aliasing, less jaggies overal, Better draw distance, bette detail on far objects and also widescreen support and also progressive 4800P, but it seems this comparison is 480i. If was 480P would be even better !!! Sry but 480i has not chance against superior 480P progressive image.
now I'm not a fan boy for ether consoles but yes ps2 has much better graphics but its slower. so really if you care about graphics go to the ps2 version but if you want max fps then go for the Xbox version. but I think we can all agree that THE BACKWORD COMPATIBILITY FOR THIS ON 360 WAS TERRIBLE!
Sorry for the late response but I'm pretty sure the animation loop for blinking in the Xbox version is way slower than in the PS2 version for some reason
I thought the PS2 was a nightmare to develop for and the Xbox was super easy, so why does the PS2 version look better? Xbox looks sharper, and that glossy look seems to stand out on the Xbox version, but the colors are bland and the textures are flat. Yup, PS2 takes the win.
I love the Xbox style tho, its more flat and cartoonish than the realistic looks the PS2 was going for. They tried to be realistic but it became uglier.
They started developing the game on the PS2, and then they made a lazy port for the Xbox (and this happened quite often). I mean, I can see why they did it, they barely had the time to make the actual game, optimize the Xbox port wasn't really a priority for them... Crash games never sold well on not-PlayStation consoles anyway, so they didn't care.
Not that it wasn't actually common during that era, expecially in this case, since the PS2 is the original version and the Xbox is the port. If development started on PS2 or GC, usually the Xbox version used to look worse and they didn't even try to optimize it, expecially if the developer was japanese... I mean, even big games like MGS2 did look better on PS2, and that was a timed exclusive.
Right at the very beginning - it bothers me so much that Cortex (and Crash, later) are blinking different eyes. Does that mean the game decides randomly when to make the models blink? It's not pre-decided during the cutscene?
Just play the game I honestly don't care which console I play I have the Xbox version just play the game if you care too much about the graphics your not going to have fun
The big majority of the differences are in shading however most of it are actually light bugs like the last scene everything was already getting shaded by the boiler room doom zone on PS2 while the xbox was more acurate
This is a similar situation as Tak and the Power of Juju, where the PS2 version has much more vibrant colors and better shaders, whereas the Xbox version has inferior shaders and colors to the PS2 version but it runs smoother and has more particle effects. If you ask me, I’d sacrifice the more vibrant colors and better shaders for the better performance and extra particle effects because those benefits bring a much smoother experience overall.
Basically dropped some shading and lighting on the Xbox so it performs better, but the PS2 version looks better Just depends on whether you favor appearance or performance
It's not the graphics but the coloring is contrasted more than the xbox version. The xbox is more powerful than the ps2. The only time when xbox beat playstation in power
I remember playing this on the PS2 years ago. Now that I'm seeing a comparison between the two versions I wish I played it on the Xbox. It's smoother and looks better IMO.
Hmm, I don't remember the PS2 version being any worse in quality or frames than the XBox edition. It looked pretty much the exact same in both. Although the display we used might have had an effect on that, old big box tv.
+SpiderMate jajajaj Fans - Why SONY dont buy crash ?!?! we need a new game of Crash SONY -we dont have 200millons dolars ...we are poor ... and Activision is a peace of sh*t

When I had it for Xbox at the time i was kid i ddnt really get that far in the game but when i had a ps2 and i still do.. things started to change but I think thry should bring thsy game back as a remastered for ps4 again i really enjoyed that game lot all they need to do is fix some stuff like glitches and shit nd it straight 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
The PS2 has more vibrant colors and certain effects seem better, but the Xbox Version runs smoother and has a more crisper image and other effects like the smoke seem better here.
well the xobx have a better framerate (it's a solid 60fps ) and reslition looks a bit better while the ps2 suffers from slowness a bit but in terms in colors and the texuers the pps2 wins for me i will chose the c=xobx coz i want to play the game in 60fps
Ps2 version has better lighting, but the xbox one had better particle effects and a more consistent fps. It also looks sharper overall. Same amount of glitches in both versions tho. :(
I remember playing the ps2 version when I was little, and I remember it controlling very well. Years later I get an original xbox and one of the games that came with it was twinsanity. It controls like ass and the camera sucks. It feels like something's a bit fucked with the physics. Is there something wrong with the xbox version?
in my opinion i found the xbox colors too weak, check out the iceberg lab on ps2 it has fog and a shine like it was snow and on xbox it takes away all the fog the colors in the xbox version the iceberg lab snow is gray it takes off completely the color of snow, I don't know my opinion
Came to witness differences since I just bought the Xbox version for my collection, not a bunch of nerds arguing on whether the PS2 version is better, or the Xbox version is better.
To me the xbox looks like it has a slightly higher resolution to it but at the same time looks like its cel shaded so less detail. I have both versions anyway so doesn't matter.
Here's what I can gather.. PS2: Better lighting and colors. Xbox: Smoother edges and better framerate. Basically the same deal as with the Dreamcast and GameCube versions of Sonic Adventure 1.
1:30 Here we see, xbox has better anti aliasing, less jaggies overal, Better draw distance, bette detail on far objects and also widescreen support and also progressive 4800P, but it seems this comparison is 480i. If was 480P would be even better !!!
In the first scene I prefered PS2 because it's more colourful. But in the second scene I prefered Xbox, the PS2 version had weird shading and a green tint on the characters.
i think on xbox its at 60 fps but colors are bad shading too ps2 is on 30 fps but colors are better shading too i pick ps2 version ii love this game is my childhood i remember playing this when i was 6 now im becoming 16 damm goood memories
