I gotta admit, Silas is one of gaming's ultimate Bro characters. He's got your back, goes through hell just for you, and is willing to turn against his own kingdom because (1) they were assholes and (2) you were the only nice person to him. That, and he follows every rule of the Bro Code.

Poor Sakura, she's the only royal that NEVER made the lists of favorites. But it couldn't be helped, given that she is stereotypical, and cannot stand out with Elise because Elise is from Nohr, the dark kingdom, thus she's the beacon of sunshine, while Sakura is already pure and such, but she's already from Hoshido, which is the kingdom where people are already decent and pure in, except for Takumi, who goes dark real quick in Conquest.

Too bad Fates has terrible grey morality... Hoshido is peaceful and is described as the ones being harassed throughout the whole story. Nohr is full of characters who wouldn't hesitate to kill, and Corrin literally has to tell essentially all of them not to, plus Garon, Iago, and Hans are psychopathic killers who are CARTOONISHLY evil... How, in what definition, is this truly grey morality? Also, I respect your #1 opinion... But I have to disagree... Her crypticism really got on my nerves... Especially in Conquest... They could've possibly sparred Hoshido, or at least prepared the royals to be ready to accept that Garon isn't Garon anymore... Instead, Corrin and Azura decide to keep that crucial fact to themselves, destroy Hoshido, just so they could have solid proof!? Couldn't Azura get another crystal ball from Valla? She said herself that Leo could've used one, so they would,ve had concrete proof... (In fact Leo finds out the truth exactly this way in birthright anyway...)

another good video crash, I'm really enjoying the new editing style while sometimes it can get kinda cringey, it is very clear that you are having a ton of fun with it. i look forwards to the rest of the fates-athon and am excited to see where it goes from here. Aside from that, I agree that Azura is a very well-written character, probably one of the best, but for me that only comes down to her appearance in revelations and her story presence, but, I consider Xander to be overall the better character de to him being more consistant. that being said however, my main complaint with fates is that Xander would have been a way bettter main lord than Corrin. also, good old blonde Eliwood feels a lot like a GBA character lost in fates. but hey, that's just my silly opinion. Otherwise great video again here crash, and juding by that subscriber count, you should look forwards to october.

sweet list dude I can feel the passion! it's funny that almost none of your people would be on my list because although I like their personalities I just didn't find them as useful and didn't use them as much( except for Silas) but I guess that shows just how much our playstyles differ as I prefer a very defensive style in literally every game I play and because fire emblem makes so many girls not have good defense or hp there are very few women on my list. but anyway peace man, good job as always and see ya next time

yeah Oboro is good! I married her to Niles because he was the only Male Nohrian she would talk to! My problem with Mozu is her self pity doesn't match with her on the battle feild... I just had her kill an Army including the Bosses of the level but this was her 1st time fighting near Silas... "I'm so weak I should leave" "OH GOSH NO!! I NEED YOU!" Another thing that makes Ryoma the best sword master of all time is he comes with Astra pre-downloaded... AND if you have him paired with another unit and he activates Astra with his high Skill he blocks an attack... FOR FREE! (something no other Sword Master in the series can claim) Wow that Analogy of Fates being about choice reflecting Fire Emblem as a whole is amazing because sometimes you are put into a pickle that you may have to sacrifce a character to save another... is it the right choice? who knows! I Really liked this list I didn't have comments for most of your choices but U do agree that they are all well written.

My personal list: 15: Charlotte - You're right, people are quick to judge her. And I love pairing her with Kaden, because she actually feels bad for her actions and learns to be herself as well. Don't judge on a first impression! 14: Arthur - I just love his superhero style. Reminds me of All Might from My Hero Academia "JUSTICE REIGNS!" :P 13: Rinkah - Fiery, aloof and hardcore. "The Fire Tribe values solitude" 12: Asama - Yes he is very rude to others, but it does lead to some hilarious supports that always made me go "Ooooo burn!" 11: Benny - I have a soft spot for characters who look rough on the outside but are actually giant teddy bears :) 10: Saiso - Metal Gear Solid Ninja 9: Kaden - "I love it when you brush my fur and rub my belly, wish you'd let me return the favour" ;) 8: Keaton - So charming! 7: Ryoma & Xander - I'm cheating a little, because they are essentially the same character. Big brothers who are tanks, very honourable and you can rely on them in battle..... they can just carry a team by themselves XD 6: Niles - I have endless enjoyment from this man. Some of the best supports in the game comes from his sexual innuendos! 5: Takumi - Blame Takumi! 4: Jakob - A very reliable butler. Bit of an asshole to everyone but it does make his interactions enjoyable. Although he is surprisingly sweet to Mosu (Which is why I married them) 3: Mosu - The god of my battlefield........ 2: Kase - My husband the mage killer. If you're an enemy and you fight with magic then you better run because you WILL die when he catches you XD No one can stop him!!! 1: My Avatar! (Corrin) - Because I have given myself all the best weapons and stat boots. Nothing can touch me anymore :P

Awesome video! As a girl I find it hard to get around all the fan service related to Camilla, Kagero and Charlotte, but I see the great points you make about their personalities. I also love Leo because he was my husband in my revelations run and capped almost every stat. He became my best unit and I've loved him ever since.

Pre-watch comment: 46 minutes? Better get some popcorn ready. Based on a few other videos i've seen you have, i have a feeling you like Camilla and Leo. Hopefully Jakob doesn't show up. Better get ready to become super salty. Or is that triggered? Whichever applies~ Let the hour special with commercials begin :D! Post Intro and before #15: Personality only? That's even worse since Camilla at least is good in battle as a "not maliq knight". Well, yes, opinions are a thing but how someone can like a bloodthirsty psychotic boob monster, douche bag 1, and douche bag 2 is beyond me. I don't include Takumi in this because his reasons are sound while Leo has little to none and Takumi has the most character development in the game while also being one of the three gods in battle along side Ryoma and Ophelia (Avatar excluded because obvious reasons). I think the only other playable characters i loathe and will never have a reason to be liked are Peri and Niles. I'd take bland characters over these piles of garbage any day. Post #13: I completely agree that some characters get judged harshly due to their surface with Charlotte being a good example. I am well aware of the supports but dear god for some characters it is simply not enough. Like Camilla, Leo, Jakob, Camilla, Peri, Niles, and Camilla. I am a believer of justice and justice does not bend to something as transient as emotion. I don't hear much of Niles or Peri so i don't get triggered around them but the over hyped Leo and Camilla is just awful! Even with such backstories they must be held accountable. I happen to have a lot of debating with a Carina Bell (RU-vid name and strong advent of Nohr, i side with Hoshido) so i understand Nohr's side and arguments. Still think those 5 should never have existed. Well.... we can throw out Leo and Niles, they aren't the worst offenders. Camilla, Jakob, and Peri deserve all the shit they get. Post #10: Thus it begins. As i said before i min/max my characters and Leo's crap hit rate is painfully noticeable. His speed is ok and is strength is terrible. Sakura gains enough strength and magic when leveled right to obliterate any dark knight you can think of. Odin may not sport as high magic but sports better strength and shares bad hit rate so even odin beats Leo. His personality is really garbage when he retaliates to Takumi with "Shooting from afar like a coward" when Leo himself states he has no interest in swords because he doesn't want to be compared to Xander and uses magic which herp a derp is ranged. Leo sucks period. FYI i am not shitting on your opinion BLAZINGKNIGHT. I am actively shitting on Leo for the trash he is. Though that will change if those 3 appear. Don't take it personally. Which i think you won't being a youtuber who shares his opinions. Post #8: Excellent choice. Elise is easily one of the best if not THE best character in conquest. Her personality truly shines above the rest in conquest. Sakura is also very awesome being Hoshido's cinnamon bun but somehow doesn't shine as hard in birthright XD. Battle wise you should of mentioned her defense is the worst in the game and anyone with decent strength one shots her. Battle wise i disagree. She cannot survive physical units who reach her at all. Odd considering one of your points against Olivia (who i don't care for) is how if someone breaks through Olivia will take a hit. Elise shatters which is even worse. Just saying. Post #6: No question that Kaze is a great character but i do question how many times you've played through the game. Kaze strength is average and wielding the generally weaker kunai/shuriken does not bode well for him. Unless lethality or a critical happens against a not tank opponent he really doesn't achieve much. Saizo and Kagero on the other hand really shine as ninja. Post #5: Oh....... i think i'm going to be sick. Well yes, Corrin is her obsession and she isn't loving at all. She clearly prioritizes Corrin and always will. The murderous side isn't likeable and her depth (don't understand what depth you're trying to throw in) is not existent. She follows the same rules most fanservice characters do. Big boobs, nothing else. She is good as a "not maliq knight" since using magic yields failure. Say hello to my salt. How anyone can like this trash is beyond me. I at least respect she isn't number 1 and i respect the fact jakob isn't here. Same with Peri and Niles. I think i can relax now that the trash is out of the way. Curse you Camilla and Leo! Why aren't you more likeable! Oh well. The true gods of fire emblem are still in this game. Takumi, Ryoma, and Ophelia. Post #3: There he is. The best character in the entire fire emblem fates game. The only one who's flaws are always apparent, the only who who truly grows and changes, and holder of the title of "Fire Emblem God" along side Ryoma and Ophelia. So much love for this guy. Almost makes me forget the tragedy that character 5 and 10 are. Almost~ Post #2: Cares about his family? That point is false thanks to birthright. He outright abandons camilla and leo and barely talks to elise. Still better than Camilla though. Way better. Other than that he really is great character wise and battle wise. You just have to be careful about mages, especially fast ones, Xander will be royally fucked XD. If only he didn't make himself look like an ass in chapter 25. Compare to Ryoma's actions and outcome in his chapter 25, Xander simply can't compare. Still like him though. Post #1: Did not see this coming! What a surprise! Most people i talk to claim Azura is weak and boring. I personally am indifferent to her character usually though she has good points and understand her mix of high strength, skill, speed, and luck make her very dangerous on the battle field if used right. I made a dodge tank Azura and she literally never gets touched in PVP. Live PVP mind you where you fight someone with maxed out units and uses their brain. Unlike those siege things where you fight AI. Post video: Like i said, very interesting viewpoints and opinions. Your judge of battle prowess is a tad questionable but you did say its from your experience and you don't min/max from the looks of it. Still liked the list. Was fun to watch and listen to see what you thought. The absence of Niles, Peri, and Jakob was appreciated as well. Some characters simply don't deserve to be liked. Aside the disgustingly horrible stain that is Camilla (as much shit as i give Leo, i do like him XD), i'd say this video is a great success and i'll recommend it to my other fire emblem friends! I absolutely LOVE that ALL the Nohrian siblings made it into the list! Just goes to show that they had the most depth to them!

Leo and Azura are definitely my favourite characters. Leo's pragmatic personality verges on the point of comedy at times, with some things he says being hilarious. Azura on the other hand is a complex and interesting character who I think really sums up Fates' story.

Yay! I'm so happy Kaze is on the list. I agree with what you said, he is a reliable balance that just lacks HP, STR and DEF. That's exactly why I always have him as a Mechanist, since it buffs up those areas. Sure, Mechanists are slower, but since Kaze is virtually nothing but speed, he could care less, and his weapon options allow him to still dominate but stay safe all the time.

I've literally just completed all three FE Fates games and I would have to say that Azura was USELESS in every single playthrough other than being a fairly decent support. Her strength was crap, her defence was crap, her HP was crap, nearly every single stat was crap. (Also it bothers me that I didn't see Kaden or Keaton on this list... those two are my favourites! :P Haha)

A very good list :D I liked what you said about Asura. I do use her a lot and she is one of the most intriguing characters, probably consider her as number 16 on my list. Thank you for calling Kase the ultimate ninja! BECAUSE HE IS!!! However, I'm not a huge fan of Oboro or Felicia. Felicia because she keeps giving me too many Sumia flashbacks and I'm not a huge fan of clumsiness as a character trait (Thank god female avatars get the much more competent and reliable Jakob earlier) Oboro is a good unit, just not a huge fan of her personality. But that's just me, still a good and well thought out list :D

HAH! I called it, I just KNEW that Azura would be one of, if not your favourite "Fates" characters...! Um, that is to say... well, I figured that you must love her for being the sort of character who really shows WHY you love FE so much - especially since many of her characteristics remind me of past games and their leading ladies; most of all, Ninian and Elincia, both of whom you've talked about adoring as characters. In particular, Azura shares the trait of carrying a heavy burden on her shoulders - the guilt of knowing what's really going on more than anyone, but because of the curse placed upon the realm of Valla, she can't talk about it. So she follows Corrin regardless, due to her faith in their goal at attaining true peace - and to symbolise the importance and meaning of UNITING the countries, she ultimately gives her life for the sake of peace; but by choosing the most difficult path of all (by not picking a family over another) and initially making an enemy of everyone, Corrin is ultimately able to unite both countries... And with all the royals behind him/her, the Yato truly becomes the key to peace in their world, evolving into the Omega Yato - the Fire Emblem of "Fates", which powered by its four sister weapons together (Raijinto, Siegfried, Fuujin Yumi and Brynhildr) is able to fell Anankos once and for all, and also removes the need for Azura to sacrifice her life using the power of her pendant. Incredible, just... incredible. For the other characters, I completely get it in general why you consider them in these placements... I was quite amused that Corrin didn't make the cut at all, though given your foreshadowing ("Corrin, it's NOT going to be you!" anyone?) I probably should have seen it coming. I'm hoping that rather than anything, you DO still like Corrin... but that it's more of the entire cast being so well-rounded, well-written and likeable, that their own changes based on your choice meant that ultimately they appealed more to you. I personally consider Corrin a better character than Robin - due to the fact that their ideals are really challenged based on which route you choose due to the sacrifices made (even "Revelation" sees this happen somewhat), and the fact that Robin is a bit more of a blank slate due to his/her amnesia (Corrin's being sheltered feeling like a better means of "Audience Surrogate" IMHO) and not being as challenged as a character outside of the whole Grima thing (especially since it makes the "right choice" so obvious in "Awakening" by guaranteeing a happy ending even if you do sacrifice yourself; honestly, if there were some greater requirement to doing so like maxing out Support levels with so many characters, I think it would've had more impact...) I'm genuinely still a bit surprised that Takumi didn't beat Shinon as your favourite archer, but not angry - at least your reasoning makes sense on the grounds of being just a BIT under in terms of usefulness thanks to the Resistance stat, as well as the fact a legendary weapon of such power is great, but you can't depend on it alone to make you the best (which... really speaks volumes about Takumi as a character, no?) I do think that he's the character who gets the best development all-around in "Fates" - especially since he's so prominent even on "Conquest", because along with "Birthright" and "Revelation" he appears in Chapter 10 after the route split... maybe it's also partly because I don't love Shinon all that much - he's a great unit, and he's definitely a good example of moral complexity in Tellius (being that he left the Greil Mercenaries after Ike was put in charge due to disliking Ike, and only rejoined later AFTER siding with Daein because of his friendship with Rolf), but I felt like unlike Takumi, he's not given as much room to change and warm up (unlike Lethe, he seems to remain quite a racist, too!) Oh well... Takumi is still, as you acknowledged, a great character and an excellent unit, and at least he gave Shinon a run for his money. If anything, he actually EARNED the Runner-Up spot of "Best FE Archer" more than anyone else could have! Also fun fact - he made 3rd on BOTH character lists he appeared in! Talk about being consistent in the most surprising places, right...? ;-P I knew that Elise's role in other stories would make you love her more! She's great in "Conquest", but "Birthright" and "Revelation" really let her shine as a character: in the former story she sided with Corrin (while refusing to actually FIGHT Nohr) because despite knowing the risks and dangers, she just wanted to bring her family back together and end the war for everyone, showing how big her heart is when really put to the test... which tragically costs her life; in the latter route, she outright defects faster than her brothers AND more smoothly so than any of the Nohr siblings (although Camilla joined Corrin a bit sooner, since she was ordered to fight him/her), knowing the risks yet again but her love and understanding of her sibling's true nature makes her (along with Sakura and Camilla) among the only ones who realised that Corrin isn't a traitor but hugely conflicted and torn. Gods, I love Elise's big heart, and as a character she's just SUCH a darling! :-D For other points, I will firstly say that I was surprised (but not unpleasantly) how many "Neutral" characters made the cut - besides Azura, you also put Kaze, Felicia, Mozu and Silas on the list, which is quite telling of how well these characters stood out to you; especially Silas, since I thought you (like some) might have found him a bit bland (especially compared to Kaze), but you were able to really see how he's not JUST a nice guy and a good person, but one who is really sincere in his faith and beliefs (hell, he comes kind of late on "Revelation", yet while he's obviously even more torn about fighting you, he again shows his deep loyalty and bond of friendship), which makes him a genuinely caring friend and also admirable in his own right... Bravo, Silas. Though I'm still not the biggest fan of Camilla PERSONALLY (and "Birthright" didn't do her character much favours since she was reduced to even the GAME fanservicing her!), it'd be a lie to state I don't get WHY she's your favourite of the 4 princesses - I just like other characters more, but that's my prerogative, just like yours is to like her that much. ;-) ...Besides, I find it funny that while Leo still beat Sakura and Hinoka onto the list, even his little sister made it higher than him - I suppose that as consolation, nobody else ranked either beat his prior placement from the Nohr list, or anyone below 4th place on the Hoshido list getting higher than him (the only retainer to beat him being Effie, heh...) Though it's really sad for poor, sweet Sakura that she didn't make any of the lists (especially given the trauma conga line that "Conquest" was for her), which is such a bummer; I guess her shyness (endearing as it is, since she's got SUCH inner strength!) has its disadvantages, like not making her stand out more (and her siblings also being even stronger personalities than her)... And of course, even if Oboro made the very bottom, she WAS fighting against others with bigger story roles (and more presence in multiple routes) among other things, so there's no shame in her or Charlotte making it the lowest of the returning characters from your past "Fates" character lists. Well done on making this list as great as it became, I have to say that you exceeded my expectations - especially since I thought you might have to spoil more of some characters' backstories (like Kaze and Azura) but you truly nailed their natures and histories without having to talk about it too much (footage from the game aside!) I'm really impressed, and the wait was ultimately worth it - can't wait until the next list arrives!

Nice also cool that Leo's on the list I really liked him in Fates and I actually married him in Conquest and Revelations (I married Sebastian in Birthright also I instantly saw Jakob as Sebastian when I played the game they even use the same weapon)

I agree with this list highly (except mozu's battle capabilities because they suck unless your playing on a hard or lower mode and/or promote her early with special seals, but everyone can play the way that like).Emphasizing on both accurate and personal liking of each character (along with their role in the story) to give the audience (of those who have and haven't) the proper "Fates" experience !!!! 9.5/10 ( and if I wasn't being biased about mozu 10/10) Can't wait for the next list !

I am sad that you did not put Sakura on either this list or Hoshido list. However, I do respect your choices. I went through Revalations useing both Elise and Sakura and A+ them. It caused some rather intersting things and made them even better healers. I think the list is wonderful in any case. Oboro was my Hoshido wife Nyx was Conquest and Sakura was my Revalations wife

Love the scripts in the videos though you really should have just made a separate video talking about the Royals because it seems as though they take up the majority of the spaces in the countdowns which is sad since other units don't get much spotlight
