Last week of January, we do the tours. Get a Crawler Canyon tee! www.cafepress.com/crawlercanyon Affiliate Links IG: crawlercanyon Amazon list: www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls...
Streaming on RU-vid is pretty easy. But only 6.5k subscribers…..who isn’t watching this guy, and WHY?! Awesome setup, envy the course. Wish I wasn’t 3k miles away or Id definitely try and come check it out.
Dude that shop with all the rigs, spares etc and then just walk out into that epic course is what crawler dreams are made of. A video of one of your rigs going around the whole course would be great to see
Damn the shop has gone thru some major changes since you posted pics of it from back in the URC forum days, wish I had the time and organizational fortitude to deck my hobby shed out like this, I am a clutter magnet and it usually just ends up looking like a pile. Good job on your hobby garage, looking awesome👍💯👍💯👍
I’m fairly new to the canyon and have patiently been waiting for a shop tour! Once I seen your garage machinist skills I knew there was cool stuff to see around there!
What an amazing transformation of the Canyon in the past year! I really love how the lighting turned out😍. And great idea with the stickers. I would definitely love to get some😁
Man, the Canyon is AMAZING The lights at night look really cool, hope we get some night crawling when the weather allows it. Just imagine crawling at night around the new big pond when its finished, that would be perfect Also, if you end up doing the streaming part, it would be interesting for sure (the only problem would be the schedules, depending on what time of the day it is, some people from other countries wont be able to be there)
Sorry for the off topic question, but do you have a video of the stand you spin at the start of each video? Thanks for your postings I love your channel!
What an incredible set up you’ve got! From the shop to the course, envy is what comes to mind! I’m sure that’s taken a min to get to where you’re at. I’d love to be able to run my rigs on your course.
I dig those stickers. I definitely need some for "Tangerine", the Canyon Underdog build that you helped me start with a VS410 chassis and "bag J" VXT tires/wheels.
Sir that is one epic shop, you are obviously diy talented. I’m a new subscriber , and have a dedicated bedroom shop as well as a few water and surface rc items. My goal is a backyard crawler and construction playground as well as the shop to support these activities! You are an inspiration for sure. I’d like to see: some of your must have : tools, storage ideas, featured in video shorts nuts n bolts ideas behind your crawler course Thank you for your efforts and contributions
Wow the Canyon looks so different since "The Grand Tour" it looks awesome, wanted to plant an evil little seed in your head, what if you strung some shade clothe between light poles in the areas you use the bucket chair! give you some relief from the angry summer yellow orb and still let in light🤔, Jolly definitely needs copper wheels. Maybe you could sell the stickers with the shirts I'd buy some. as always thanks.
I've talked to the wife about shade cloth in the past, and she made "that face." I think I'd still like to put up a small section right where you said, in the section I'm sitting most of the time. Of course, then I will constantly worry about the wind.
No no no my friend you can do this much much easier for yourself you mentioned having the cricut hopefully it's the maker 3. I actually do stickers and rc body wraps clear coats for scratch proof rigs etc... take those rolls you got cut them in 12 inch pieces depending on width if there 4 inches wide cut them 12x4 sections peal them stick them in your 12x4 section on white or maybe black vinyl sticker paper send them through the maker and cut them out yourself and when you peel them it will peel up your clear and your white layer together and stick them. Bam lol there is some other ways you can fix them up as well.
Im in absolute awe of everything Crawler Canyon. Wish i had the space to build and the wife that would let me. Here in the south east corner of the UK its all flat mud. We have a handfull of places to go. Whatching the Canyon has inspired me and my son to build some lcg trucks that are capable. I've even bought a 3d printer and designed my own 3 stage foams. We would be made up if we could add some Crawler Canyon stickers onto our creations. How do i go about getting some?
Hey, Thanks for the shop tour. I have a comparable low ceiling shop with an open joist ceiling. Old school stereo and bicycles to boot. I will undoubtedly steal a few organizational ideas from you. Your maximal use of the space you have is impressive. Makes me realize I can yet make even better use of what I currently have. You have inspired me! What more can a fellow human ask for... Dust Control?
Man, the room for a dust collector and the system to go with it would be AMAZING. I have a centrifugal blower on the table saw, and just open-blast the dust outside through the open door when cutting. For the chop saw, I have a big shop vac with a cyclone separator before it, so that helps. Everything else just fills the building with sawdust.
My girlfriend would fall in love with you if I would show her your workspace… mine is a mess and is literally just a 60x60cm space at my desk. 😮 And she haaates the mess I make 😂
Shop and course look fantastic! I'm going to have to figure out a stand for my Sendero SE. After my super soft tire upgrade, it can't sit on the ground, tires smoosh straight flat in a day, lol. Cheers
Yeah-- never leave a rig sitting on the tires. The foams/inserts don't like it. I think the 4" yoga blocks exist at the intersection of cheap and convenient.
I get the Ted lasso funkos But tbh my first episode I thought Ed helms 🎉 😅 I assume you never plan to move . Hypothetical...perfect situation you were offered to move. Do you take it all or leave it 😂🤔 That task tho
Man, I need to find a good foam to replace the web foams in my halos. A couple of them are starting to disintegrate that looks a little bit thick, but that blue looks more like the same thickness. Can you help me out with a product that I could use, and by the way, this is the best channel ever to watch so informative and your wit is right on par with how stupid I think I am
So you need to replace the outer part? It's reticulated polyethylene, aka fridge foam or aquarium/pond filter media. Finding the fridge foam thicker than ~8mm is tricky, and finding filter media that is either not too thick, to dense, or the worst-- carbon impregnated-- also a bit of a chore. You can also "disassemble" dollar store hair buns to get a suitable thickness. A little firmer, but gets the job done. If I read it wrong and you mean the inner part, the inner foam from the Timtin dual-stage on amazon could be cut to fit pretty easily.
Sent you an email about shipping address. I have a set of tires I'd like to donate to the Canyon. You mentioned in a previous video that you'd like to test these, and I'm not going to use them, so they need to be put to use at the Canyon. EDIT: So hold off on that Tire Testival for Jolly Green!!!!
need a drone to do a good course tour. you can sit somewhere, talk, and have the drone film and go thru tunnels, etc. btw, what was that figure in the dark?
As there is a firm 0% chance that I'm going to go look back through the video to see what you're referencing, I will instead sit here and there was no figure in the dark, there was no figure in the dark...
Thanks to the widening of the street in front of the house, we went from 1.0 acres to 0.89 acres. The total portion of the property allocated to the canyon is roughly 80' x 110', so ~8,800 square feet, or near exactly 0.2 acres. I started building the first obstacles at the mid/end of 2020, but didn't start building until the summer of 2021.
I've retired a number of 1500s in favor of 2200s. I have a few of the 850s in 3S and 4S, and it's just not enough. I can tool around all afternoon on a 2200, while an 850 gets maybe 30 minutes. And in the case of BOSOA rigs, I'm not worried at all about battery weight.
The shop is littered with an assortment of "not actually guns," from the array of paintball stuff to an all-metal airsoft MP5, to an Adventure Force Nexus Pro dart blaster that shoots shorty foam darts at 150fps.
