While hunting in Indiana, Josh McDaniel is filming hisself during the peak of the rut. After Josh takes a mature Indiana buck, something crazy happens! Hunt originally aired on Monster Bucks Monster Bucks XXVI Volume 2.
Deer often don't know exactly where a shot comes from. It's a loud, echoing, sound they aren't used to hearing and I've seen deer hear a shot at fairly close range and just stand still because they weren't sure which way to go. Plus talking quietly in the woods is just second nature when you hunt a lot!
Avalanche2 Well, thats easy. He wanted the second 1 to go away, but not training the deer to look up to his spot(or to look up into trees); Maybe that monster will come back to the same spot next year. That buck didnt get so old by being stupid, so why teach him?
Much respect to you for making ONE shot count and not causing that big boy to suffer. Also respect X2 for being legal and watching that other big boy walk off. Wish more would follow your lead.
@Wild Man 1982 In Indiana, a hunter is allowed only 1 Antlered deer per year (not per season or multiple in same season)....he shot the first deer and legally had to allow the 2nd antlered deer to walk away
Impressive shot on the first buck. You just filmed something that has never been filmed ever before. That had to been incredibly exciting. Excellent job and thanks ever so much for sharing.
I'm now in nc.2 buck tags isn't a big deal.no hunting Sundays is maybe the worst regulation of all time.there is more deer killed on the roads than from a treestand.
I live in NC, but go home to VA to hunt deer. I don't have any connection in NC to do so. We can bag 2 per day in VA in the county where I hunt. I've pulled that off a few times. But I'm not getting any younger, and I usually hunt alone. It's time for me to stop that practice. Take 'em one at a time.
@@Guitarnivore negative.no hunting in the state of NC on Sundays on public land .private land no hunting between 0930 to 1230 on Sundays. I have never and will never hunt on private land.im 56 and I'm a much better hunter because I have never hunted private land.
BOUGHT a BUCK ALERT!!! I personally know where he is hunting HE ON A PAY to HUNT RESERVOIR... THAT DOES HAPPEN when you pay $2500 and BUY a BUCK... There's 20 Buck BIGGER Running around Waiting for the Feeders try to go off..... JUST RECORD THE HUNTING VIDEO GAME LOL Take the Same Amount of Skill....
Yes the other buck was his mate or partner. He came to wake her up. Trying to stand her up but she was dead. I don’t know what is the pleasure of killing some innocent animal. I hope same thing happen to hunter him self to know the pain of loosing his love one right in front of him.in old days people use to hunt because they had to feed them selves. But now There’s tan’s of meat in supermarkets why they killing those innocent creatures.
Dumb question, but here we go; is this considered a four-point or five-point buck? I see four uppers and two lowers; are the lowers considered points? BTW - I think the other buck was just taking advantage of rutting the other out of spite; perhaps he lost a few time to this guy and wanted to get a few good licks in himself before he strolled off.
Had the same thing happen bowhunting. Watched an 8 and 6-point chase a hot doe all over a field. Eventually shot and killed the 8-point. Minutes later the 6-point came in a horned the larger deer for over 5 minutes. No amount of yelling on my part could deter him!
why you don’t see as many nice deer in the south. I lived in Indiana and hunted nice bucks like that a lot…have seen some even bigger. come to NC and yes there are nice bucks but not monsters like i would see in Indiana very frequently. I realize the corn fields make a big difference in nutrition but still.
I had that happen once when I shot a doe. Another doe came up and started butting and stomping on it. I had to yell and wave my arms to get her to leave.
@@kentcan true!!! However, have seen some monsters out of VA this year. But i wish there were fewer buck tags before, or even a size or point regulation.
Well I hunt in Eastern VA. We dont have an early bow season. General firearm starts Oct 1st, which brings dog pressure, then that rolls right into Muzzleloader for the last month. There's good bucks here but they go nocturnal out in the swamp and you'll never see them again until they get hit crossing the roads at night.@@thereelaccountant9246
What an awesome hunt and video! That first buck was making it tough for you to get him in frame....😀. Nice shot and a great buck! Then to have that second one come in and put on a show.....WOW!
The same thing happened to me roughly ten years ago while bow hunting. It was the last day of the season and I was getting nervous about not filling the tag. I was seeing some nice bucks but all were out of range. A smaller 8 point came within range and I arrowed him at 15 yards he ran out in the bean field about 40 yards away and died. Then the circus started. This 12 pointer comes tearing across the field and commenced to tear the hell out of my deer. I literally had to chase him off. I've been hunting for 30 years and never seen anything quite like. Seeing your video really brought back some awesome memories, thanks for posting it.
I bet that second buck was saying to it's self, yea screwwith me bucko when he walked off🤣.......That was unusual, the buck you killed should've hauled ass when he caught you playing with your camera 😎
Kind of a “kick him while he’s down mentality”. I wonder of the buck Josh killed whooped that other deer’s ass previously.. Amazing and interesting animals for sure.
EVERY'1 THINKS THAT BUCK #2 WAZ BEING ( TERRITORIAL ) ...... [ Nope ] ...... JUST TIRED OF WAKING UP HIS (DRUNK BUDDY) FOR THE WALK HOME YET 1NCE AGAIN. 🦌 🥃 🍾 .......
The rut does something to a buck, that it would stand its ground while a human is yelling at it, when normally they'd jet if you even step on a leaf wrong.
Great buck! It’s nice to see hunters when they display good hunting ethics. There are hunters all over the world that don’t share our hunting ethics. Maybe you will see that big boy again next year.
I used to hunt quite a bit. I discovered that I had an instinct for when deer were present. I guess I was in touch with wild life. Anyhow, I no longer hunt because it began to bother me. I supposed because I enjoy the wild life so much. If I needed food, that would be another story. The thing is, I do not understand how a downed deer can be appreciated for the size of its rack, or how nice it is. Seems contradictory to appreciate it, and then kill it. Makes no sense. Now for me the excitement is being able to to be near them, and just appreciate Creation.
Last season my father shot a hot doe during the rut that was being dogged by a 6pt. She went about 30 yds and dropped. In walked a good sized 10pt and kept trying to breed the doe. Finally got disgusted for her lack of participation and stomped off
I live in Indiana also I've had lots of strange things happen shot a doe with a bow and a decent 8 point came and hung out with her for 45 minutes trying to make her get up horning her gently Indiana can be a very rough state to hunt but at the same time I've had lots of success love Indiana
