I think youre right, even If im a vegitarian, but theres no burger with cougar meat ITS Just dump to hunt animals that are in danger and didnt do anything, so thats a dislisk still Edit: Same with coyotes btw its beeing dump in highest Level.
My compliments guys great shooting and you shot many of the animals I hunt every year with pride. Nice equipment your using and obviously you are shooting a good amount in the off season you long yardage shots by the bullet trace were right on the money. Well done and again my compliments!!
@@nunyabizzness8 With the amount of recoil, breath control, focus, concentration, being precise, not giving away your location, no a 5yo couldnt do this, I think you spend too much time on call of duty
It's always good to remain compassionate. That's a very good sign. I always remember how cruel the end is for nearly all animals in nature. Far worse to be eaten alive then a 30 or 60 second death by rifle.
@@MuleyFreak No not LOL..there's no skill in pointing a high tech weapon at a defenseless animal. A weapon you didn't and couldn't make yourself. If you need to do this to eat because that's your only way of survival-then-ok but there should be no joy in the "sport" of it.
@@nunyabizzness8 Almost anyone can make a rifle with CNC machining and a lathe, and access to youtube. Most people don't need to hunt to survive either, except people in backcountry alaska and around wyoming, colorado, or montana. We hunt for the challenge of getting close enough to a animal to humanely dispatch it, or stay far away after training to shoot from extreme ranges. The meat and "trophy" parts are a welcomed add-on that is put to good use, be it a christmas dinner, antlers mounted on the wall, or the leftover meat being turned into dog food. Humans have hunted since we figured out how to sharpen sticks, we just figured out how to make the sticks faster and more accurate.
I used to hunt and fish. But after a years break... trying to return to doing so makes me feel so bad for having to kill such majestic beasts. Or have to pull a swallowed hook out of a mackerels mouth... I cant imagine that pain. Yes it feeds my family. But it just does not sit right with me. Yes I do eat meat, and it tastes damn good. But seeing the pain an suffering before it goes on my dinner plate is just depressing.
People who say hunting is cruel doesn't know what hunting is about, it's not only about the thrill and food. Responsible hunting is about wildlife conservation in a humane manner.
I'm going to be a future hunter but I would never laugh. I know it's a achievement after some long waiting, but you still killed something. I would never dare to laugh like that. Great shots tho
What do y'all wind up doing with the lions after the hunt? I can't begin to imagine the cost to stuff all those big critters, and I haven't heard of anyone eating them, so I'm super curious.
When I was a boy the first animal I killed was a Magpie. Tough bird and didn't go down easy. It was then and there I realized I was not the type of person to get any enjoyment out of killing. The next day in hunting camp I had a bead on a huge buck deer at 200 yards and was a dead-on shot. Lowered the butt of the rifle 1/8" and missed on purpose. The Magpie didn't die without a purpose. He saved the deer and probably many others. Hunting for food? Go for it. Killing for pleasure, different strokes for different folks. Just not in me.
Its a good thing you found out early. If you found out after you had put down that deer, different things could have happened. A. You could have fallen into a depression. B. You could live with that moment the rest of your life. C. You could've moved on, kept hunting, and learn to deal with the emotions. These are just possibilities, not certainties. I am no therapist, but if you think you did the right thing, then that was probably the best course of action.
@@turquoisecat761 There is nothing wrong with sharing a story. In fact, a video like this makes the most sense to share a story like that. If he were to share this story on say, a Tetris video, it would not fit the context.
I’ve been hunting in Australia for around 35 years - and while we have lots of things that would like to kill us, we don’t have mountain lions. I hunt feral and introduced pests - but I’m not sure I understand shooting a mountain lion? Can you educate me? Are they are pest or introduced etc? Thanks fellas.
Mountain lions are native in parts we hunt out in the west. There are estimates on mountain lion populations but it's hard to say how many there really is. But in the end everything is controlled by the state for how many tags are available and hunting mountain lions isn't easy. You can go out and try to find them by glassing but that's pretty hard or you can use trained dogs to track them. Houndsmen spend so much time training these hounds to track cats, it's pretty amazing. Overall mountain lion populations are doing great but hunting them does help the deer and elk survival rate.
@@danielzunigagutierrez6300 not apparent to those who doesn't know the reason for hunting. Hunting helps control the animal population. If everyone stopped hunting then more animals would come into populated areas looking for food, they'd slowly starve from the big animal population eating too much of their natural food supply, and there would be an increase of diseased animals. Responsible hunting is a form a humane wildlife conservation.
I wouldn’t either just like I don’t like using dogs for bear but cats are ambush hunters and I can’t imagine a safe way to hunt a mountain lion with a bow without one and I don’t shoot anything I can’t eat so I wouldn’t hunt it in the first place unless it killed someone or was killing cattle that’s also why I don’t like African hunting cause it’s just pure sport hunting
Cant beleive you enjoy killing such a beautiful animal like a mountain lion! Thats a rare and amazing animal =/ Go shoot something that you can atleast eat...
In California they banned the hunting of Mountain Lions. The California department of fish & game now catch and euthanize the same or more than what used to be hunted by hunters.
@@Atheyst But they also release them so they get to enjoy life. What gives any human the rite to take life for no purpose other than enjoyment ? Its twisted.
Im not fluent in Spanish, so I'll just speak English. He was being ethical with his shots, most shots I saw were right in the shoulder area where the heart and lungs are or head shots. Clean kills don't always result in instant death, sometimes animals will run with even a heart shot. Ethical kills don't mean no suffering, it means minimal suffering because in reality sometimes suffering is unavoidable.
Well it's like this buddy. Would want us to hunt the large cats or do u want the large cats hunting u. If we don't control them they will take over. If u live where they live ur animals and family are on the menu for them
The thing about hunting, it helps to control the animal population, if mountain lions aren't hunted then they become over populated in many areas causing them to come into town, not to mention they can start decimating they're prey population causing them to starve, on top of that they can start contracting diseases. Basically not controlling animal populations can be devastating to an ecosystem.
So the herbivores that avoid conflict deserved that shit, but that mountain LION!!! That would surely attack you no hesitation being killed was wrong. I just started shooting nd am thinking about going hunting by the way.
I personally don't enjoy the laughter after ending a life, though I also understand the complexity of some of these hunts, and the buildup and the release of endorphins that no doubt occurs. I want to hunt, but I want to be respectful of the animal as well.
It's JUST like Walt Disney, all the animals talk to each other and live each other with mutual respect. They have human like qualities, even higher brain functions in many cases. -- when we're not looking they goto the grocery store to buy shirts and food.
I'm all for hunting, but if you get led to your prey hiding in a tree by dogs, you aren't hunting. That's weak sauce. You might as well go sip some tea with your little pinkie poking out.
My man your grammar sucks, and idk much about hunting but am sure camping once in a while isn’t that big of a deal . And deer can hear slight movements from miles away cant they? Isn’t it ideal to not move around much so is to not make a lot of noise?
So you cams to someone else's channel, watched some amazing hits that you probably wish you could hit, and have the balls to criticize them and talk smack. Like bruh. What?
Hey mate, I have a hunting game channel, can I use your video to show the reaction of animals in the game compared to real life? I will credit your channel
@@MuleyFreak my next purchase is going to be a 300 just not sure what exactly maybe Norma any suggestions i live in Eastern oregon and pretty much do all my hunting in big open areas
Probably not, unless you think it looks cool. In which case it will do just as well as most camo. The main selling point of "digital camo" is that it tends to somewhat mess with modern electronic optical equipment like nightvision or cameras with IFF system. But against game, you can go with just about any camouflage that diffuses your silhouette reasonably well. When looking for a good hunting camouflage remember that human and animal eyes (usually) see differently, camo that wouldn't work well against humans may be more than sufficient against deer.
@@MuleyFreak Mountain Lion is delicious? I never knew folks are them, I'm still wondering what Bear meat tastes like, hunting is a great way to stave off current meat prices at grocery store!!
It just goes to show you that there's never "TOO" much caliber, but rather shows you more or less that the right shot placement doesn't ruin a bit of meat.
