This is beautiful. Both teams played aggressive and with passion. This is what soccer really should be all the time. Lately it’s been about money and politics. This game is by far more entertaining than Mexican League soccer to me.
Right they both played rough and tough to the point that there wasn't no fights during and outside the game just knowing the fact how to lose when to lose 👌👍👊💪

8:26 If this was a USSF match instead of high school this goal would be disallowed because FIFA does not allow goals to be immediately scored when the ball hit a hand/arm. But since it is high school this is not a handball as the player had his arm tucked inside, he wasn't making himself bigger.

The worst that is allowed in American soccer is the two center ref rule. I remember playing with it one time and they weren't in a good position for a goal we had that obviously went across the line and it didn't count, and then the other team crossed a ball that went out of bounds and scored off of it.
Never played a game like that before 🤣you'd think that after letting blue score 3, 4, 5 times, white would stop diving into tackles in their defensive third, but nope... 🤷

Ball mastery is quite a good standard, as is the passing, off the ball running, and offensive shape. Now, defensive shape and goalkeeping is another thing entirely! Both teams seemed to suffer from having physically weak defenders with no pace, in addition to over committing themselves to tackles. Also, both sets of fullbacks seemed to have no protection from the wide midfielders…lots of runs being made in behind that were not tracked…
that first goal looked like he was offsides. Ball was passed at the 11 yard line and the guy who got it was on the other side of the 10 when it was kicked
From a referee's perspective -- tough game to do with two referees on a dual control. No way are they able to keep pace with the players, so offside calls are going to be really difficult. It's a tight balance between being close to where the play is and being where you can fairly judge offside. It looked to me like a couple of those goals were the result of attackers being offside, but you just don't have the ability to see and do everything with just two referees. Seems they called a good game, though.

The 2 men system has several deficiencies and you add the bad positioning from the ref with long hair, then you have several potential offsides not being called. The school systems trying to be cheap at the game's expense. The lead ref must turn into an AR when the ball comes at his direction and always stay in line with the 2nd defender. He should let the trailing ref call possible contacts, which exposes another deficiency which is being far from the contact.

@@ctwining If you know any young and fit athletes that want to make around 50 grand a year and save lives, let me know. If they are under 18 they will need their parents permission. Statistically 1/10 younger fit athletes get selected..... They don't have to move anywhere, you can send the micro-organism samples through the mail or drop them off at a nearby approved lab.

I highly recommend watching the entire game. Along with some glaring mistakes he also pulls out some great saves - so overall it is a mixed bag. It is clear that experience-based fundamentals like positioning or proper catching are not quite there. He makes up for it, though, in decisiveness, quickness and agility. I think he is a candidate to become a very good keeper once he is taught (and regularly practices) technique and fundamentals.

Both teams only looked good to neutrals because they were both so bad at defending that it made them look good offensively. Yea some players were decent but anyone could look good if they were playing vs these terrible defenses.

This is a pretty good game i have no idea why I'm here but both teams are equally ......Once upon a time in high school we won a game 10-1 both teams were talented but what made us different was before the game started we had the bombox playing eye of the tiger . It was our conditioning that gave us advantage but what it was is how we all got along no player in our team shadow the other one

This is why all soccer games should have a center ref and 2 ARs. Two refs are never in position to make the right calls. I realize some places may not be able to afford it, but Mater Dei certainly can.

Goal at 5:01 was outrageously poor positioning by the keeper. No reason to come if your line like that while the defender is there to pressure the striker.

The blue team just dont no how to defend it's like it's their first time playing apart from the 1 guy making all those goal line clearances he was decent and the white team just stand their during corners giving them easy goals abysmal the the players offensively were quite good
