I think they have Godbeer's height wrong or something. The fight between him and Mo he looked like he towered over Mo, but they had him at only an inch taller.
I was there that night, My Sensei for MMA Chris Jensen fought that night as well. Was lucky enough to meet all the fighters and i am 6'5 so i can tell you Mark is definitely not 6'2 he was as tall as me if not a little taller when we took pictures so hes at least 6'5.
Just two pieces of advice... ditch "Schmo"... and replace with someone respectable. Second, find yourself a professional referee as May should not have been permitted to return to the fight after the first knockdown... he was literally "unsteady" on his feet yet was allowed to return only to be floored once and for all. Protect your athletes the best you can... you owe them that much considering they're the ones drawing in your customers/revenue.
Damuses I was thinking the same. This is the first time I’ve ever watched this. I’ve watched ufc for a long time and that would of been a tko first knock down no doubt. I don’t see how you can go by boxing rules bare knuckle that’s crazy. Godbeer is a savage.
Not only is that poor guy half a foot taller and 10 pounds lighter, yet jiggles a lot more. That means Godbeer is shorter, wider, and still in better shape. Who thought this was an okay fight? Think about how much professionalism and fighting it took for the UFC to build a respectable reputation, if you’re gonna do something this wild you gotta really have your shot together. This is basically indoor street beefs.
What absolute crap "medical" care of the KO'd fighter. No protection of his airway, left flat on his back instead of being put in the recovery position, and some guy in a suit flapping a towel at him to create a breeze! Bloody hell - if he'd been seriously injured, and suffered after effects, this mob wouldn't have a legal leg to stand on. Whatever happened to having proper paramedics and a doc attend to a downed fighter a.s.a.p. and PROPERLY? And yes, I'm a medico - so I was horrified to see him left on his back with no airway protection like that. That is awful! They should be ashamed.
@@richardgoodman8260 Methinks you have no idea. Even on an incline (and no fighting ring has THAT much of an incline) the patient is still on his back, and at high risk of aspiration. He was flat on his back - supine. It's in the video. Incontrovertible evidence. Lucky for you that he recovered without having airway problems. Recovery position is ¾ prone with the mouth down towards the ground. Also, having someone extend his head and advance his jaw forward will keep his airway open. Lying on his back - as he was - causes the airway to close off, especially if there is any edema from having been hit around the head!!! If you were truly a licensed MD or a paramedic, you would know all that. And what the hell was that idiot trying to do by rubbing his sternum? Wake him up? Yes, we sometimes do that to help a patient come out of an anaesthetic, but not after severe brain trauma has left them unconscious.
I never said I was nor have I seen a doctor say "methinks" lol. I said there was 6 M.D. working the event along with two set's of paramedics. It's a sanctioned event.

Iv had a few street fights in my life, that were unavoidable. To volunteer to go through that is next level & no joke. One punch can kill a person. While I like watching. I find it hard to believe, bare knuckle fighting is a sanctioned sport in this supposed Age of Enlightenment.
It's more dangerous to get hit with a glove on. Way more injuries and more power delivered since your wrists and knuckles are wrapped. It's like how there is more serious injury in football vs rugby.

More padding you have with gloves (and even headgear) is way more dangerous, fighters can unload full power into hits without fear of breaking their hands, therefore the brain gets rattled much more often and with a hell of a lot more force, and it's also over a longer period of time. Bare knuckle obviously means more chance of cuts, and broken noses, jaws etc but fights usually end way before permanent damage to the brain. I don't of BK that lasts more than 5 rounds, and many end before that. Boxing can be 4 - 12 rounds of brain against skull with much harder hits and not a single cut.
State Azure, Iv been doing some homework. And the jury is still out, according to actual scientific research from professionals. Not just Joe Citizens opinion. I read papers saying boxing is safer, then others saying the complete opposite. It's the same as the climate change debate, depends on what side of the fence one falls. Some say bare knuckles are kidney & spleen destroyers, but kinder to the head. Gloves are kinder to the body & worse for the head. So on & so forth. Anyway, I'll be reading up some more. Otherwise it's just opinions.
Titus Cato plenty of studies out to prove my point. But you don’t even need to rely on them because it’s common sense and basic physics. Brain injury is caused by acceleration and deceleration, padding doesn’t prevent that at all. It does however encourage much harder and more frequent punching not possible in bare knuckle. This stuff has been known for decades, I’m surprised people still argue about it.
The shmo needs to go if they want to be taken seriously, they need to work out some pit issues Just some growing pains as long as they are open to making some tweaks
This is exactly why I prefer BARE knuckle! Just thinking about that KO if they used gloves makes me cringe. It might not be pretty but I'll always prefer a scar on face than a scar on my brain. Respectful fighter too +1
I'm all for BKB, but this ring style sucks and could lead to possible liable lawsuits on Valors'. The fighter should not be able to seriously injure them self in a fall after a knockout due to a hard non-padded surface.

The level of respect shown to his opponent is real. This is how fighters and a real man should act... Mark knew, an injury like that can change a life forever. Nothing but respect.
