cool build. I know you said without trial sets but It would be worth mentioning that you can stay with the frost theme as well as not losing any damage (potentially gaining damage due to minor slayer) by switching pillar of nirn for whorl of the depths on the back bar. also if people want to save money on pots u can slot inner light on front bar for the crit bonus and max mag :)
I mean you could by all means, however if you were to run whorl then I'd just pair whorl with pillar and go meta. The thing is Brittle is so easy to do on a warden so you don't need frost sets to do it. I just did it for fun hehe. I also thought about using inner light or even lotus flower for the prophecy but you end up losing something critical if you do. I just think if your not doing anything difficult then just use trash pots or tri pots :). But all great suggestions. I try to make my solo builds without the trial sets for people who don't want to/can't do trials. Also it separates me from everyone else as most people who make builds are all the same leaning into the meta.
@@RyanIsIffy very true and absolutely fair points, only reason I mentioned it in the first place is because it would stay with the full frost theme to go whorl+frostbite :D
@@MudgeMiester haha its a great suggestion for real! Thats what i love about this current state of the game. You can be whatever you want and its still viable 🙂. Honestly I thought whorl was water....... BUT! What if we used it in Skyrim or Wrothgar, 🤔 then the water would freeze! BOOM! ICE! 🤯
@@RyanIsIffy To be fair it's a bit weird because the tooltop says that it is frost damage (and allegedly it also gets that 8% increase from frostbite, but not tested this myself) but the effect itself is a whorlpool soo xD
Why would one use the Wild guardian(stam morph) over Eternal (mag morph) which does mag dmg, considering wardens get a boost to mag dmg, aswell as having a free res on pet death?
I actually thought about this, there is no mag or stam in damage anymore "technically". Everything scales of the highest offensive stat, both morphs will scale of whichever is higher of spell damage and weapon damage. So now I know damage will be similar how does it differ. The "Mag" morph has a 150% damage on enemies under 25% health, and the bear instantly respawns. The "Stam" does slightly higher bleed damage, and does only 100% damage to enemies under 25% health BUT has a quintuple chance to apply haemorrhage status affect (this applies more bleed AND can apply minor mangle which reduces the targets health by 10%) Considering how short the execute is in any overland/dungeon/solo arena we would get more out of a stronger DoT with big status effects then the 50% extra in execute that would honestly be 1 or 2 attacks from you let alone the bear. So IF i had to pick id go that one and thats why. But it also doesnt matter if you like the free respawn you can take that too 🙂
should try Hrothgars chill!!! 2 items: Adds 1206 Maximum Health 3 items: Adds 1487 Armor 4 items: Adds 1487 Offensive Penetration 5 items: Stunning or immobilizing your enemy causes them to burst with frost magic, applying the Chilled status effect and dealing 13% of their total Physical and Spell Resistance as Frost Damage to themselves and enemies within 8 meters of them. This effect can occur once every 7 seconds, ignores Spell Resistance, and cannot be blocked.
Iffy question, if I wanted to turn this into a one bar do to the fact I have problems with my hand and find it difficult to constantly swap bars, what skills would I use?
Hey Sorry for the late reply. I would def say my picks would be, Wall of elements, arctic blast, shalks, winters revenge, and screaming cliff racer for spammable (drop the masters frost staff) and then the bear for ult. Thats what I'd do i think.
Great video and something I might try although don't have the PVP skills and the monster set (afraid I'm not good enough to do vet dungeons) and usually play alone. :( Think I might try to use/adapt some of this anyway. Cheers!
Are you on PC NA? Id love it if you stop by the stream im currently doing a subathon so Im almost always around this weekend. We can go through together and get you the monster helmet
literally copied my sets for this build, tho I wanted icy conjurer until zenishit decided it doesn't proc on minor brittle and maim even tho it says it procs on ANY major on minor debuff, so I changed to nirn.
Copied you?? lol I did this live on stream. I thought the same thing but after testing working nirn in there and being able to justify it made so much more sense.
I know that it has been 4 months since this was uploaded so I won't be surprised if this comment doesn't get a lot of attention but I am taking notes to see if I can make a Ice Viking/Valkyrie with a Nord and seeing this video has given me some ideas, I would love to see what someone more familiar with the game like you could do with this idea.
OMG I'm so sorry for the missed reply, I've been live 24/7 so I've missed this stuff. As you were saying? so this but with a nord? TBH you can swap any race in here and it will work. Its what I try to balance. Nord would hit a lil better on stam sustain and if it struggles on mag sustain there would be 1 or 2 things we could do to blance it out. :) I'd love to know more. Maybe I can do something for a updated build as Necrom hits.
Hi and ty for the build ! It's a long way to reach the Psijic Order required level ; what spell would replace or substitute to Channeled Acceleration (if any) ?
Hey there welcome! Your looking at about 80-85k without changing a thing. Pillar of Nirn drops from Falkreath hold is DLC and Frost Bite is Blackwood overland which is also DLC. Both these DLC's are included in ESO plus :) You can also just buy the frost bite from guild traders if you like. I hope this helps and I hope you enjoy the build!😃
Was looking for a frost warden build and found this and been farming your suggestions ever since. Thx, man! Just one question: are Icy Conjurer & Winterborn alternatives for Pillars of Nirn or for Frostbite? Thx for the support!!
I have a question. What are the percent difference between each race for DPS gains and losses? I cant really seem to find that answer. I usually find "races dont matter much anymore" later followed by "this racial is insane" in guides. It is a bit confusing. I know some are clearly good for tanking/defensive gameplay, but how much would I be missing out by picking what race I enjoy looking at?
This is a fantastic question. I agree it can be really confusing. So there are ALOT of factors and Variables for something like this. For example a stamina vs magika vs hybrid. Lets just say for example its this build specifically. The difference between high elf and dark elf is
Cool build. I’m 450 hours in though and have yet to find a single Ghastly Eye Bowl or Lava Foot Soup recipe. I check all guild shops I pass by and have asked and asked and asked my guild. Perhaps one that is ACTUALLY achievable should be in the video. Or you should specify that it’s easy on PC not on console. Maybe that’s just my experience but still 🤷🏻♂️
You know your right. after 8k hours I tend to forget little things like this. Its actually a holiday recipe that comes with the witches festival which can make it rarer. Also I use a site called Tamriel Trade Centre for PC which makes it stupid easy to find things. I'll think on this in the future and add it where applicable. Thank you for the advice.
Again with a question, when using the mag morph of shalk, does the penetration debuff stack with the penetration provided by razor caltrops or not? Cause if they override each other, then i think poison shalk wins, due to more reliable timers+poisoned status, versus bigger magic damage at more awkward timers by deep fissure.
The mag shalks provide both minor and major breach. Razor Caltrops provide Major breach only. Named buffs ie "major breach" will not stack. So because of the akward timers I chose the stam shalks, easier to maintain uptimes. Easier on sustain. and we get the major breach from caltrops. 🙂
Never too late to ask for anything, I'll be looking to update all builds after Necrom drops and I'll be throwing a Magic DK in there that will be almost all fire. :)
If I use this build and parse, what sort of numbers should I be shooting for? My parse sucks bad so I'm going to practice this build, just wanting a goal to shoot for. Tysm for the build, looks fun, can't wait to try it tonight!
Yeah, I'm not worried about max parse, just want to try to maximize my rotation with this build so I can understand it. Thanks for sharing, I'll be lucky to hit 60k, but I'll work on the 70k :)
I did a rough one, without changing a thing i got 76k. But on a trial dummy doesnt really matter tbh. Our build has breach and alot of mitigation and sustain built in that you wouldnt use on a trial dummy 😀. If you wanted more damage for a trial dummy youd swap alot of stuff around 😀. Hope this helps
I just started a magsorc today, though watching this build looks really fun! I've tried an ice mage type build in the past before it was a [good] thing, might try it again, though... Thanks for another awesome video, very easy to follow format & informative!
@@RyanIsIffyGood approach! I normally pick high elf or dark elf for mag builds, but this time I'm thinking breton. I'm a lord of the rings fan/nerd, so I've been developing a backstory for this character as I look for names on several websites I use for name lists and such (been looking at quenya & adunaic names, if that makes sense). I see bretons as similar to the dunadain (like aragorn, half man half elf), so I've been leaning in that direction. I'm definitely trying to keep an open mind, though, so I'm open to anything really (even if the name doesn't come from the lotr universe)! *Hope that wasn't too much nerdiness, haha!
So this is interesting. I had lotus on the back bar for a while, it was in place of caltrops because I was running magic Shalks. However, you only see the benefit from it IF you light weave really well. And then that means youd have to run magic shalks. So when I dropped it I slotted the reaving blows Champion point to make up for not having lotus. So its up to you. You can if you like. But I find there is less damage and its so much harder to maintain the effects of lotus. I hope this helps.🙂
This looks like it's mostly a solo arena build. Of course it should be fine in most 4 man content and normal vet trials as is, but this really isn't a dps build.
@@chrissnodgrass8638 Yup, Thats why I titled it solo build.😀Good for all those things but for a vet trial group I would always change some gear, because I don't want to hold my group back. 😀
Hi Iffy :) Thank you so much for this inspiring build! And thank you too for picking up my suggestion about the location of the skills :) Luckily my former stamina warden just yesterday changed her race from wood-elf to dark-elf ... maybe she knew, I would need a charakter that could do both stamina and magicka? ^^ Most unluckily, her second name is Orsa'Maggiore (which is italian for big bear ...) so I cannot really play without it ;D But the rest of the build I will try!
Hey again! Thank you again for the suggestion. I think it elevated the delivery of that particular portion of the video to where I wanted it to be! Maybe she did know! 🤔 But dont worry about the big bear, its 100% the best warden Ult, so if your happy to let go of a little frost, you will infact do more damage. (Also you have HEAPS of frost on there already so you will easily have good uptimes on chilled and brittle without ice comet) 🙂
I did look into this one on stream when building it. it looks super interesting. Only reason I didn't include it was the fire damage felt like it was against the frost. However it seems like its okay damage and I think its proc conditions are super easy making it a great swap if you dont have or want Pillar. 🤔
@@RyanIsIffy mainly thought it played will into the behemoth helm tanks run, plus the fire and ice skin from SS kinda bends that set back onto theam, what do you think the dps drop off would be?
V.V then also on the topic of fire and ice theme I thought whirle of depths was great to cause fire and ice make water xD but then I lose the masters icestaff v.v
@@RyanIsIffy When you deal Frost Damage, you deal an additional 238 Flame Damage to all enemies within 8 meters around the initial target. This effect can occur once every 1 second and scales off the higher of your Weapon or Spell Damage, but it procs every 1 sec so just back baring would be a huge "waste" right?
80k for ghastly eye bowl recipe. He calls it "very cheap". How much money did you have at level 1 buddy? pay real money for the game much ? maybe don't call it "start to use at level 1" WHEN WE ALL KNOW that's not gonna be possible..
Hey so the recipe can be used on a toon thats level 1, so for example an alt toon could use it from the beginning. So it IS possible. At level 1 on my first toon i had no money...... also no gear..... by the time i had gear i had money so..... you can do it. I believe!
I played this game since closed Beta that means I was one of the 1st 2000 people to ever play this game and I've played every elder scrolls game in existence ever that being said the warden and the necromancer are pay to win
@OfficiallyIffy That's literally a common misconception Spread by youtube's that get paid for their videos and comments but there's more video evidence to support that the warden smashes And it's no secret that every time they release a new class. It's overpowered.
@@brycelocke9020 The warden is not good dps, compared to meta, its not worth tanking on, it is a great healer though. PvP its only good with other people to kill for you. I dont get paid for my videos and have too played since launch. If I want to win I will play a DK. as tank, dps, or PvP. If I want to have fun I'll play what I like. :)
