Craziest Theme Park - BonBon Land, Denmark

"It's so whacky and weird!" "Crazy designs and so many colors!" "The humor is so raunchy!" "Oh my Goodness, this is a family park?!" "Insert-joke-or-character-here is not fit for children!" Pffft, it's so weird to see what people from overseas thinks of this park. Seeing Americans lose their mind over a pair of nipples is hilarious and really, I don't think anyone who grew up visiting this park has ever thought twice about the design of it. I know I sure didn't. x'D

I never realized that it was perverted and sexual. I've been to BonBon Land several times, and I've never noticed anything sexual or perverted about the rides or attractions. Then again, I am danish, so maybe that's why xD I've always thought of BonBon Land as a really fun place to go. I never thought it was crazy or could be seen as crazy from other parts of the world:P But some of the more ''sexual'' things like the cow with visible boobs, I've never noticed before. I have seen the bare butts and the shits at the Dog Fart(Hundeprutten), but for us danes, it's just funny, even for the kids XD

Fun fact: a kid (the son of the maker) started out the theme of name giving to the candy.And it have never in any way been not fun to say these names as a child..

I'm from Denmark and I can tell you BonBon Land is really fun and tbh I barely noticed the nudity as a kid.

You have to understand, all these characters are all themed after candy - every character is representing its own kind of BonBon candy/sweets. eh i've been there i'm Danish my self it's very typical Danish nobody really cares here it's definately considered "child safe" here, censorship laws are almost noneexistant

I used to love those candies when I was a kid, and the best part was their bizarre themes.

I don't think this is crazy. it's designed for children which is why it's very weird. also mind you that Bonbon land opened in 1992 and many of the initial designs for characters and statues have some 60s 70s and 80s roots much of this ''crazy and offensive'' portrayal are all things that wouldn't be that strange for kid to see growing up in the 70s in short, it's not supposed to be perverted or sexual, it's childish and innocent. the adults are the weird ones here. what you see as sexual, children see as goofy and doofy.

Europe : sex and naked bodies is OK, guns and violence is restricted. America : 'trigger happy every day', but no hints of exposed breasts! It's not like either is good or bad, those are 2 different mentalities: this theme park might seem crazy to Americans, but all the school shootings are as crazy in the eyes of Europeans.

Bon-Bon is a candy brand. The candy are named; Ear wax, Pee diapers, Seagull shit. Ant piss, big titties.. to name a few. They were very popular in Denmark and Sweden and made a theme park about it. They have a huge candy store at the theme park which is not showed here. I have been there and its a park open area kinda themepark. Its actually really nice.

Ooooh of course, the bon bon candy! I didnt regognize the name until I saw some of the characters. yeah, they are based on candies that are supposed to seem like something disgusting or made of something disguisting, like garbage, shit, vomit and etc. Didnt know they had whole theme park based on them. huh, now I want to visit that park. and some of those candies, btw are delish, not al, imo, but some.

Why do you make such a fuss about this? If children get scarred for life because of a trip to Bon Bon Land, there has been something wrong with their childhood. It is figures, and they are fun for everybody. Children do not think of sex or genitalia or breasts as something sexual - they are just bodyparts. When they get older they start to understand, but if you hide it from them, they will not learn to be casual about nudity because it will be a taboo. If someone made some statistics, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't show that children who visit Bon Bon Land will suffer from the nudity (which is in a very smaller scale than showed here in this video - the camera shows you what it want you to see and notice) later on... I have been to Bon Bon Land several times, and they are just figures - it is not pornography - you guys need to chill the fuck out. Different countries have different cultures and mind sets, so do not speak of something you do not understand.

Bonbon is known for its strange shaped candy and most of these characters are from there. For example they have a trashcan candy with a rat on it and one of the pieces is shaped like poop. They taste good tho :)

i really wanna visit this place! i found out about it through an old theme park blog and have been utterly fascinated by it ever since. i'm american, but evidently my sense of humor is somewhat danish 😂 i just love how gleefully bizarre the entire park is

Believe me or not, I've been there myself quite a while ago. And I litteraley don't remember any of the messed up things. I'm not joking, kids don't even notice it. Only adults. What's the problem then? ;3

I havnt been to bonbon land since I was a kid. I am in my 30s now. You can still buy some of these bonbon candies and I tell you that much of it is really good to mix with vodka. They should totally put it out there on the market.

I actually did not find the ample usage of nipples to be all that gross. It felt like the agenda with the nipples was not titillation but humor. Like, "Look at me, I am a silly animal with ridiculous sexy nipples." The most offensive part to me was the rat that was was barfing. And I found some of the ants to be creepy. They just leer so much.

:D The showed figures are kinda the visual for names for various candy. The company started out really big in the 80'ies and had huge success with a lot of different names for candies, and then slowly - unfortunately - they lost their drive - and we lost interesting names in candy. Some you can still get - fortunately - but a lot have been lost in the void of time.

I was recently there and they unfortunately begin to lose their charm :( Remember when i was there as a 10yr old in ~2005 it was the best place, but many of the rides that i remembered are gone and the ones that are still there are in such bad shape :(

I love BonBon candy. Been eating them since I was a little kid. Never knew there was actually an theme park. Yeah, I can kinda see why it might look a bit.. Weird :D

keep in mind that this park is from the late 80’s early 90’s. it was a time where people didn’t get triggered by naked bodies and nudity.

I remember thinking the art-style of the characters was tacky, but not because it was sexual, that never even crossed my mind, I just didn't like the "drawing"-style of them.

Ahh I remember the candies back in the 90's here in the Netherlands. Yup, stuff like this was/still is quite normal for us. Meanwhile the Americans here in the comments cannot believe their eyes. But I kinda get it growing up in a country seeing nudity as evil and soon a tiddy is shown on TV it's defcon 1.

0:24 I've visited Bonbon land countless times while growing up, but I never noticed that cow's boobs and nipples were showing. O_O How did they get away with that?! O_o EDIT: 0:37 Is this a theme or something? Who thought it would be a good idea to have cows with revealed boobs and nipples at a theme park who's target audience is kids?! EDIT 2: 0:55 STOP IT! D: EDIT 3: 1:15 Why do they show an anthropomorphic female pig's ass?! Why is there no censorship? O_o EDIT 4: Naked ant versions of Aladdin and Jasmine flying on a carpet? I give up... Though I will vouch that this is child friendly. You don't notice any of these things when you're a kid and running from ride to ride. It took me till I was 16 (Now) to notice it. But I agree. This is a very strange theme park that says "Fuck it" to all things disgustion like vomit and poop, as well as everything that would be censored in other theme parks. In the end, I think the craziness gives it a little charm. No other theme park is this weird from what I know, so it makes it fun and unique :D

BonBonland is great, but it used to be greater, anti-sugar messages has removed some of the best parts of BonBonland, you used to be able to design your own custom lollipop there(had to pay for it of course, as it was a big lollipop) and at the gold digger attraction you would be trying to gather find pieces of gold in the sand, that you could exchange for free candy, the lollipop designing place was shut down entirely, and the gold digger attraction was switched to exchanging the gold pieces for the right to buy a medal, which made it go from an attraction where the children never ran out of stuff to do, to an attraction where once they have gathered enough pieces for 1 medal, there's nothing more to do there, because your parents probably aren't going to be buying you multiple medals.

We're the creaters on crack?! By the way that spinning turtle ride I have the same one in my theme park!
