Can those devils be put in backwards than what your operator did? I feel like it would be much easier to slide in and create better seal

Yup, ConForms actually recommends them to be used this way. It looks completely backward however, but that’s what they want.

How in the holy hell did you pump 350 yards of concrete and not have any of that brake loose in the pipe. That may be some of the greatest luck ever to not have an issue with that. I couldn’t even imagine if a chunk of that broke loose and got caught in one of the elbows in the placing boom. That’s fun to work with when you’re 500 feet up.
@canadianconcretepumper1979

It’s amazing how resilient buildup inside of the pipes can be. The number of times we’ve said “just pumped a few hundred yards through her to burn that junk out of the pipes”. That old stuff in the pipes was 65 mpa SCC mix. Would be interesting/super shitty to see if a large agg mix would have busted of it free.

From ConForms: “The nose of the go devil is flat and slightly beveled. It is designed to go over slight bumps like a slight difference in the ID of the pipe. The solid nose of go devil is for impact as it runs into the catcher so it helps in not damaging the go devil. If it is inserted backwards, the cone on the back can hang up on a slight bump causing it to catch on it and get stuck as the go devil can bend that way easier.”
