That was a Crane Fly, sometimes known as a Mosquito eater, or Mosquito hawk. They don't eat mosquitoes though, they eat flower nectar. Harmless, but scary, their sounds are annoying, and when they have their yearly mass die-off, they make the local lakes gross because the surface is almost coated in their millions of dead bodies. Only lasts a couple of days though as the fish eat them all up.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I read in my encyclopedia that they're related to mosquitoes. And honestly if rather hang out with them then their malaria-spreading cousins
That column with the posters is a Litfaßsäule. The oldest are from the 19th century, so there might well be decades of posters on it. They are very common here in Germany.
I don't know why but seeing that guy chainsaw off all those old posters JUST to paste up his own really pissed me off...I can't explain it but just seeing that, and knowing he's going through all that trouble in the rain...it REALLY pissed me off.
that bug you saw fennryn is called a gollywhopper a harmless bug that is just annoying they will fly toward lights so sometimes in summer in bed you might get one brush your face

10:10 Fenn, that's a parade float used here in Texas, it belongs to a store chain called H-E-B, I used to see it in a local parade for an event called the Peanut Festival when I lived by San Antonio. I know this because my dad had to deliver one once back in the 90s, but parade floats are driven to the location of the parade if near enough and are given special clearance by the town/cities/counties they're driven through, so they're not pulled over for being non-regulation, and if small enough they can get pretty fast; that one is likely heading to a parade, or is getting test driven before hand

@@patrickdix772 so true, my mom told me once the food is too spicy for her, eventhough I only added a bit of cayenne pepper. I on the other hand heat Chilli and hot sauces and barely have a reaction to it.

2:09 thats just a daddy longlegs not the fake spider daddy longlegs, but the flying one wich for some reason is a thing in multiple languages that those two bugs have the same name even if they are nothing alike completely harmless what looks like a giant mosquito stinger is for eating nectar even if it doesnt eat for most of its adult life kindof surprised you dont know of them since i see no reason they wouldnt be in the english parts but google is being a useless search engine so i cant actually find the countries they live in our tech is getting worse every day
