I understand, but most zoos actually keep animals as backup populations rather than entertainment. If it weren’t for zoos, species like the oryx antelopes, golden lion tamarins, blue iguanas, California condors, Prezwalksi’s horse, wild dog, Guam rail, pandas, and many many more would be completely extinct. The only reason the blue macaws (from Rio) are still alive is because they still live in zoos and not just the wild. They have a second chance. Plus many zoo animals in good zoos live longer than in the wild. If they were always stressed out and depressed, they wouldn’t outlive their wild counterparts. Try researching the good they do and see they actually truly want to help. The real evil is the poaching and deforestation that is taking away the wild. Not to mention zoo animals don’t come from the wild unless they’re rescued because they were orphaned, sick, or injured. Zoos are always researching, and the keepers love the animals like their own pets. Trust me, zoos aren’t bad like they used to be.

Just so you know Cash, not all zoos capture animals- some zoos keep animals for rehabilitation purposes. Such as if an animal was born in captivity, they are raised in zoos because they wouldn’t survive in the wild or animals with life long injuries such as birds who can’t fly anymore live in zoos. Some zoos also play part in repopulation projects to help endangered species, though I’m not saying that all zoos are doing this- some are no doubt shit but just wanted to share this little bit.
