Lot of the iOS features will be used for this ultra portable macbook as Neural Engine, Security (TouchID?), ISP (image processing), h265 codec, network (BE/Wifi6). So i am aligned with your fine analysis: 1) most of the costs is already carry by iDevices R&D 2) Apple Time to Market will absolutly need a massive adoption for the First Apple Silicon machine. For the Last point, for me it is Symbolic and business. Today is not the time of PowerPC / Intel ! RU-vidrs are an incredible tech relay and Apple knows it. For developers point of view, very good reviews and very strong sales will show how use their Time & Money investments. Price, formfactor design, MacOS UI, iOS apps support, Power and Battery life are the 6 major items which must be insane to create a strong tech impact.
