Finally back with a new guest compilation from Swedish truckers. If you have any heavy vehicle related dashcam footage that you want to share on this channel, then you can contact me on my facebook page. / truckerdashcamsweden
Update: Just to clarify to new viewers. This channel is called Trucker Dashcam, so it just contains dashcam clips where trucks or other heavy vehicles are involved somehow. This doesn't mean that I think or say that truck drivers cant make misstakes as well. Or that some even shouldn't work as truck drivers, because of their attitude to other drivers or traffic in general. Nothing makes me more upset when I see a driver of a heavy vehicles do someting dangeroues or inconsiderate. But I can see a clip of a truck driver doing something stupid or dangerous without some "whataboutism" and what about that. Also, there have been several clips of trucks doing mistakes on this channel. And I have no problem showing it. And for the last time, I am NOT the one driving in these clips 😅
There's a channel called "swedish truck driver" and, to be honest, I first thought it was his video. But the TMA truck video made me realize that this is a compilation of different swedish truck drivers' videos
@@Brauiz90this is Andreas channel. He drives a truck but recently have only posted videos from other truckers in Sweden. A few years ago he posted of himself
Yep, he was definitively going too fast since he had to break like that to deal with a situation he should have been half expecting. Who has the right of way isn't really the point in places like these. The point is to slow down traffic as there was both an intersection and a crosswalk there.
Agreed maybe the bus driver fucked up, but the truck driver was escalating the situation into something far worse. Just because you are in the right doesn't mean you can act like rambo!
I've come to the conclusion that all drivers in all countries should be required to have a refresher course every 10 years. Maybe even throw in a bit of anger management for the fun of it.
I've been thinking every five years regardless of driving age and experience because most people think it's the old people that cause the most problems. If the person fails the refresher course, they then need to take driver's education all over again and pass the DMV road exam prior to getting their license again.
you forget the truckers shortage in the eu. and even worse what a trucker licence costs. i totally agree that mandatory refresher courses for FREE would be a huge step. but we know they would just use it as another way to rake in tax money.
About 3:10, I see that everyday in Sweden. An absolute inability to join motorway at motorway speed. It is so common it must be actually taught. Joining at 60-70 km/h into traffic moving at 100, only to start accelerating on the motorway. There are very long slip roads here and cars are modern enough to have the power so it's just the drivers. It is annoying in a passenger car but absolutely deadly in a truck
people don't leave enough gap between them is why. they cannot accelerate enough because they're stuck behind another car. this only gets worse when they try to merge, there's no gap in either lane. it's amazing how stupid people are. if every single car left enough gap between them, things would work alot better
@@84viper The gap is not the problem. People being wimps is. And unfortunately it is almost always old people or women who are drivning extremely slow and have a hard time taking action in time. My wife is not a wimp though and I'm very proud of that =) One vehicle I hate in my area is the "Not in service Busses", they almost always drive 60-70 no matter the conditions or speed limit.
I can't even count the amount of times I've seen truly dangerous merging from these roadblocks. Trying to get on a highway at half the speed during high traffic hours. Even without a lot of traffic it only works at all if people in the slow lane move over to the passing lane. Merge at the proper speed and this would never be required.
As a truck driver myself, I always press the pedal to the metal when on an on-ramp to merge on the highway. A 2.4L turbocharged I5 engine with 200hp gets you moving pretty fast.
@@tntfreddan3138 Absolutely correct. There is a reason why the motorway speed limit starts still on the slip road. Push the loud pedal, match the speed then find a gap. Should be basic 101. Although the scariest experience I had was in southern Spain where people simply STOP at the end of the slip road on the motorway, then trying to merge into 100 km/h motorway (A7 in Fuengirola) from standing start…
Tbh with the snowplow and grader stopped like that I wouldn't understand it as them letting traffic pass either ... And with the TMA truck driving through the traffic jam in snow: well, I guess that's exactly why the emergency corridor in Germany and some other European countries totally make sense even if there are some idiots not following the traffic codes
Yeah, I can totally understand why you would be a bit hesitant. But they tried to wave the cars through...but still no good idea to start driving against traffic :p
@@truckdriver1982 It looks like they waited for you 2 to plow it ahead of them so they can avoid getting stucks. I would also wait for plow trucks to clear the way instead of sending it in there...
after hearing their dialect im pretty sure this is north sweden so most ppl there are very used to snowplows letting them pass. but situations like this are ofc not easy for tourists and such. when living a bit isolated that faar north its easy to forget about the rest of the world :D
@@pizzapower95 true with the aspect of tourists, no matter if from southern Sweden or from abroad, ... some of foreign tourists might be very well used to snowplows, but not to the way these guys in Sweden were doing it
3:10 The toyota was going too slow to find a safe gap, as many in the comments have said. But it's not entirely their fault I don't think. The weather is wet, and the citroen in front is going way too slow to give the toyota room to keep a safe distance from them (notice how much the lorry is gaining on them). Also, the lorry with the dash cam should have seen the situation and eased off for a short time when seeing the slip road was running out, enabling a gap to open for the toyota. Sometimes for overall safety it is needed to avoid a hazard, even when you think other drivers are not doing what you'd expect them to
5:40 What's up with all the people on the highway who drive slow when it's one lane, and when it splits into two lanes so you finally can overtake they speed up??? Drives me crazy.
Many years ago I often drove my Scania 143 from Cork in Ireland to Stockholm and was always impressed by the standard of driving there. Times have changed!! The road from Helsingborg was always kept clear of snow all through the winter. Sweden was my favourite destination. Good people and facilities for truckers. Happy days.
6:00 66 is not an age where you should be acting like this in trafic. I will not share his name or where he's from, but the owner of the vehicle is 66 years old. Easy to look up on the internet by checking the license plate
It's very nice of the snowplow drivers to let cars pass them. I myself usually look at how much they are throwing over to the side, if it's too much I don't bother to overtake, I stay behind and drive on a freshly plowed road instead.
Some of the clips here is actually the truckers fault making it worse, too big egos in young truck drivers playing cops and punishers instead of making traffic smooth. Even if someone makes a minor mistake the trucker escalates it with honkin, swearing, tailgating, close in gaps etc. instead of just go on with the day. Respect others in traffic is rule no.1 and that seems lost in many truckers today.
Sadly little car drivers filter recognize the weight of these trucks, and do not allow enough room for them because they must be first and don't care about others. Personally have over three decades driving trucks and no accidents. I came close to having the very same incident in the video. Luckily for me there's no division in the highway and Gap in oncoming traffic. Sadly for the car I had to come back in and he was forced off the road into the ditch . He tried to have me charged when the police showed up, he was charged with driving with undue care and attention.
@@alpeggio Exactly, risking a bunch of people's lifes to make a stupid point. I'd say it should be possible to report that as intentionally causing a life threatening situation.
YEAH! I'm going to take my 12 year old hatch back Toyota and break check a fully loaded 50+ tonne truck. That will teach him. Really do not think people understand what it takes to drive a fully loaded truck.
Now Andreas, I’m usually calm, but this had me shouting at the screen. 🤣. People that pull out in front of you and slow down really annoy me, especially if there is nothing behind you. The woman doing the reverse of shame by the plows made me laugh! I always enjoy your posts Andreas, I hope you are doing well. 😊
There are plenty of space for the bus to stop before the road gets narrow. And before the road gets narrow there is also a sign that tells drivers from that direction that they must stop and give way if there is traffic cominig from "our" diretcton.
Drivers that slow down before trucks are a real danger. Many places around Stockholm are plagued with drivers that are unable to accelerate to the speed limit or simply maintain it. There's one stretch of road after Hammarby Sjöstad where drivers too often fail to maintain the speed limit or give way for trucks needing the extra speed to keep pushing up the slope to avoid slowing down below 50 km/h, and that's down in the Nacktunnel and the long road hill. Often drivers pass trucks down in the tunnel, going over the speed limit, and once they pass and change lanes to be in front of the truck they slow down. It's just moronic behaviour that I wish people would stop doing.
Hello there young feller! ✨🤗✨ I hope all is well on your end. This here "Old-fart" what's in his 70s has been following for quite a while now. I really miss how, towards the end of your earlier videos, you would have a segment where it was just sort of peaceful, with nice music playing, giving us all a nice video tour of where where you would drive... nice, Oh! And I LOVED any time you were either on a ferry boat, or when you would be at your home area. I enjoyed watching you work a forklift, zipping all about, getting goods on & off. It wasn't often, but it was fun to watch! And I truly miss Pikachu! God bless and nothing but good happenings to you and yours.
5:20, this is very common. When its double lane or as in sweden 2+1 road they often slow down when it become single lane becuase it becoms scary cause the rails get closer. When it is double lane people accelerate because there is more room on the road.
if only people could apply this logic to residential streets instead, alas they instead interpret the speed limit as the *lowest* speed you're allowed to go there..
I don't know about Sweden but Norway and Sweden are similar in law to a degree and in Norway the police have used dashcam as evidence, there have been also instances where the police have found a video of a biker that filmed him self driving like an "idiot" and used it as major evidence. edit: I did a check, dashcam is considered as a strong evidence in court but also toward insurance company, both in Sweden and Norway
@@heuhen It dosent matter if there is dashcam or not, the drivier must be caught in the act. Otherwise driver can say it was someone else driving the car...
10:18 if that bus driver stopped he would have had to break fairly hard and that is NOT a good idea. His passengers do not wear seatbelts and the potential for injuries would have been fairly high. So stop honking and start thinking.
I had the most extreme "Must pass truck" but with a bus a couple of weeks ago. I had just overtaken someone and as I was going to go in in front of him, he started passing on the inside until he was in front. The second lane merged and he slowed down because yes, he was turning at the next intersection. But couldn't do so behind a bus going the speed limit.
5:40 that driver is possibly driving att the top of his/her skilllevel they have for the car they drive, and for the condition of the road. I know it can be frustrating, but truck drivers, please have respect for other drivers. it gains you in the end only 30 seconds. I got the same this weekend driving from Töre too Luleå. Night, Snowing like crazy, i was driving 80 because that was confortable for me, a truck comes behind me, so i speed up to 90 on my GPS, what was probebly 89 for the truck, because he still was thinking i went too slow. blinking with his lights forcing me to go out of the natuar created road nade in the snow by the other drivers. I tried to do this att a parking spot, putting my blinker on, but having to break too go in to the parking spot made him even more angry. and that all, for driving then 30 minutes just right behind him. what is the point.
Yeah, I don't like to park my trailer next to anything other than a Swedish plate. I've seen enough trailers getting shut in, front and back, from people parking and going to bed.
Santa’s herd sure likes your road salt! My grandpa use to carry salt blocks in his truck when he delivered milk out on country roads, whenever he came across 🦌 on the road he’d walk out and drop one in a pasture about a 100’. Great memories! Ty! 12:54
Sweden looks very much like Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan in the US and is an area where many Swedes settled in the 19th century. Around 7:23, that thunderstorm looks like a supercell. You can see the inflow coming in and a nice lowering forming where the outflow area is.
@@Skelterbane69 The area looks a lot like where Swedish Trucker was driving and where these videos were taken. The same kind of landscape, trees, and even the weather. Minnesota though is very, very open plains except for the southern and eastern edges near the Great Lakes. Parts of Maine and New Hampshire are similar with Maine looking a bit more like the Norwegian coastline. Many Swedes settled there including some of my mom's family. Many from her family also settled back east in Massachusetts, where I live now. in Worcester and Springfield area, along with many other families from Sweden. What's going on in the south? My mom's family came from Halmstad way back around 1920.
@@TheRealDr.Mabuse No, the big sky in the distance. You can see the lowering of the clouds on the outflow side of the storm base. I've seen similar storms while out severe storm chasing. My avatar is from a trip I took in 2013. That was a small EF0 tornado near Rush City, Kansas. Previously, an EF4 touched down in the town and did lots of damage and this was a second tornado that formed a few km away from the main circulation that had died.
Something I've noticed is that some few people drives abnormally fast and make it dangerous. Weras some drive dangerously slow. Most drive the speed limit, witch in my opinion could be 20kph faster.
A lot of truck drivers drive way too close to the vehicle in front. Especially in wet conditions this can be very dangerous. You can see it happening in these clips. So it is okay if the car in front slows down until the truck keeps proper distance.
As a trucker from Estonia, driving in Sweden often. I wonder, where people in Sweden got the licence? From potato chips pack? Still many B kategory drivers do not know merging rules. Still do not know how use accelerate and slowing lanes. 3:20, Toyota havinga so much space, floor the gas and merge. But some drivers so hesitate to do it and creating a dangerous situations. Be patient in traffic.
Oh my , clearly some people should not be driving! And the ones that use the middle finger salute, well I wish that I reach out and break off the middle finger 😏... I hope that you are doing well !!
3:15 I know the Toyota was going slow but mostly because the car in front was going slow too. You can clearly see that because you are gaining on both of them. Your job is to help the Toyota driver in a situation like that and take your foot of the throttle, because he was ahead of you from the beginning in the current situation.
I can only talk for Swedes now but all of them that have a drivers license which is 10+ year since you took it should be forced to go through and update what rules and regulations apply. Everybody is coming up with their own rules nowadays which they find suit themselves and not the actual practice of how you drive and should. Like position of which lane, accelerate (means floor it) when going on to the highway to correct speed, keep at least the correct speed on the road you are on, make way for faster traffic (because you could actually be the one driving slow), check your mirrors and understand what you have behind you, use indicators (it even blinks automatically for you 3 times for the press of one "button"), you should not brake check people (you will be responsible for it even if the one behind you crash into you because you are not allowed to suddenly just brake for nothing either), learn to compensate uphill roads instead of dropping in speed etc. Also for the queues in the morning and afternoon would also be so much reduced if people actually cared how to drive.
Interesting video but the TMA vehicle driver should have less road rage even when some civilians are idiots. Pressing horn to alert the driver is okay, pressing it for 5+ seconds to underline that you're pissed just makes yourself an another idiot on the roads. Once you have pressed it long enough that the other driver has already noticed you, there's no need to keep pressing the horn or keep flashing the lights. The more aggressive you are with horn and lights, the more road rage you're going to trigger in other drivers. For example, the driver around 5:15 was probably road raging back because of too much horn + flashing. If you cannot behave yourself, you shouldn't expect other people to behave either.
at least they dont stop and look at headlights thinking to them self WHAT PRETTY LIGHT then whamo cars totaled dead deer is now seeing a different light
As a driver by profession myself, people drive so whacky. And there's a LOT of elderly people that really shouldnt be driving anymore making the roads dangerous. I feel like there should be a test for people who hit a certain age, and that includes myself when i get there eventually, to see if they should be driving or not. Its just not safe for them or the rest of the people driving when they drive super slow, cant merge or switch lanes, dont look anywhere but the mirrors so they miss a lot of information etc.
There are idiots behind the wheel everywhere and the vehicle they happen to be driving doesnt matter. It's just that most people these days dont seem to "respect" the tons and steel heavier vehicles have. Edit: Meaning even if and when the big bad truckie-chan happens to be wrong he still has a considerable weight advantage over the casual driver in their Volkswagen or w/e. You cant make your case if you're dead. x_x
3.10 the truck driver is in the wrong in this on, you must give way for the incoming lane. Its obvious the driver in the smaller car is unable to gain correct speed because of the Volvo Infront and also small engine.
That guy at 5:00.... I would have broken off my highbeam stick by flashing it 100 times a second for the duration of driving slow in front of me. And no I dont drive a Bmw or Audi.
4:00 I see everywhere is it same. I have no idea what happen several years ago, but some personal cars started to drive 80 on highway. We have 130 in CZ.
I can understand the hesitation of the drivers to go to the right of a snowplow, it is illegal to pass snow removal equipment on the right here. Plow truck should have moved to the right so traffic could pass on the left.
Mate i dont think u get what its like to be a new driver, you lack the sense of placing yourselves into other ppl's shoes. Forexample at 5:00, the one that pulls out, could be a new driver, hense the slow start. Might be your "huge experience" that clouds your standards.
if the worlds truckers would all go on vacation for 2 weeks at the same time when they come back they will find out how much people will have missed them and start treating them like people treat a movie star/singer
One of the great advantages in Scandinavia is that you can identify the owner by the number plate. Maybe they can't sleep at 3 o'clock in the morning, so you can call and ask. Or you can just visit them and say hello...
3:13 So how this works in the UK, the people in the lane closest to the on ramp are required by law to move over one lane to help the other driver that’s wishing to enter the motorway. In this clip, the lorry driver is at fault
That is not true at all: highway code rule 259 (Joining the motorway) -give priority to traffic already on the motorway -check the traffic on the motorway and match your speed to fit safely into the traffic flow in the left-hand lane -not cross solid white lines that separate lanes or use the hard shoulder -stay on the slip road if it continues as an extra lane on the motorway -remain in the left-hand lane long enough to adjust to the speed of traffic before considering overtaking. The fact that you are so confidently wrong is why we have so many issues on the roads.
Its not hard laws, rather rules. Actually they are equally as responsible to make it work. Lorry could slow down a bit. But the main fault is on the car, not nearly enough speed. Common sense. And by rule, they need to regulate their speed to match the traffic they are joining (unless its over the limit of course, which it wasn't)
To be fair, some of these dashcams are from Truckers that needs to learn how traffic works. Some of them are simply bad drivers that are upset for no reason.
