Im blown away by the quality of your poker vlogs! Awesome job i nearly binge watched all of them😂😂 Love the drone footage, the cool shots, the music, your overlay, the explanations, the room reviews. Keep it up man👌🏼
I believe in live reads. If this were online I would agree with you. I've been in enough situations where mathematically the call is wrong but the information and the opponent knowledge changes the decision.
At this level, brick and mortar, you can absolutely find +EV spots in this configuration--limp/called multi-way pots with 1pr against multiple draws. I think Mariano has the right idea that he is close to equilibrium with pot odds alone, plus the sense that villains are weak/action is polarizing/line doesn't make sense = profitable call
I agree. His thought process was perfect on that hand. His opponents' actions were just too spewy to be good hands. Occasionally the draws get there, occasionally the QJ just hits a better pair and occasionally the original check/raiser does have 33. But outside of those 3 outcomes he's scooping this pot quite often.
Amazing how quickly, at such a relatively young age, you have such a firm grasp on the game, from an advanced strategy perspective, and almost as importly, the mental side. I always learn from your videos!
adminstrative user my step dad used to host so many home games at my house when I was a kid whenever I used to pause my PlayStation and go into the living room used to see money and a bunch of men playing poker and that’s when I learned to play that day
Thanks to you, now I will always think of FIGO when a weird hand happens when I’m playing. I’ve been a subscriber to Brad Owen and Andrew Neeme’s channel but recently ran into yours. I’m glad I did because I enjoy watching your vlogs. Keep up the great work!
Lol @ Figo! Sometimes you have to go with your instincts, like the 97 hand. It looks like a bad call on the surface, but live poker dynamics involve a lot more than position and betting patterns. People forget that casino patrons are often there to gamble, not to play poker.
I recently stumbled on your channel, and I have to say I really enjoy your videos. I currently play poker with family and friends, and have not yet ventured into a casino. Thank you for your vlogs. They are also edited expertly well.
Hey Mariana! I absolutely love your videos, they are my favorite, any way you can possibly start putting the percentages of hands during the vlogs? Keep up the great work 💪
Impressive 97dd hand, very well played and a really good hero call! Cheers m8! You said earlier that you're playing poker for almost one year. Do you have tips what helped you so far, because in my opinion you're a really solid poker player already! Keep it up!
That Qs5s hands was ridiculous. The AJs angleshoot the turn, then slowrolls the nuts on 3 way all in. Wtf ?! Did no one call the floor? Dows forward motion make it a binding fold ? Or just in betting/calling.
If poker was all about textbook like chess only the mathematician would win, but it's not and sometimes you just gotta go with you gut instinct and that's what makes poker great. Nice call with the 9 7 of diamond because that's my real favorite hand. I've won monster pots with it and a huge 12 grand pot in a 2/5 game at borgata casino in Atlanta city
@@MarianoPoker Well you said it yourself in the video, you were expecting someone to put in a bet with thin value that you beat or a bluff. The guy calls the initial bet, checks the flop and the turn, and comes in for $40 after everyone checked the river. Seems to me like he's just looking to pick up a cheap pot. He might have folded or called, but what are the chances that last 3 improved his hand?
Great vlog again Mariano, and the music vibes are just what I like. You mind telling me where you get your music for the vlogs, if it isn't self made? Specifically, the music that comes on around 1:50? Thank you!
I used to live near Grover beach. That card room is tiny. I think there are only 2 tables and it’s connected to a bar. The players are pretty bad and there’s a lot of action though. Last time I went they only had a $1/2 game going with a $100 max buy in and they only used $1 chips. Pretty annoying imo
Love the new FIGO part. I really was like WTF! really i would so have been pissed. i can't stand players like that and there is no judgment. That was a live read that you went with and great read. lol Love the vlogs keep them coming .
love the figo system mate, great vid, shame some people have to angle shoot, the fake annoyance was unnecessary too. love your vids mate, gotta ask, where do u get the music? make it yourself or from a different playlist?
Nice haul with the 9 7 hand. If it would've been me in your position, with my luck, the flop check-raiser would've flipped over a commonly played JT offsuit or a QT offsuit, or a T8, T7, or suiteds T6, T5, T4, heck, even T2 in honor of Doyle, played as a flop check-to-the-raiser, and when he sensed weakness with the little flop bet and calls, decided to pop it up to take down the pot. He would've called the all-ins, putting the guy to his right and me in your position on draws based on the action. So I personally look for better spots. Good thing you don't have my luck! Lol.
Something similar to the 9-7 hand happened to me the other day after I got beat 3 hands in a row with premium holdings. I had 6-9 off at the BB and everyone limped so I just checked to see a flop of K-6-Q with 2 hearts. SB opened to 15 on a 45$ pot (2-5 table), I called, 3 more callers and the HJ jammed 220 all-in. SB re-shoved 550 and I had 480 remaining. In my mind, one of them had T-J and the other had hearts draw. I ripped it in hoping for bricks on turn and river. Turn was Ace of clubs and river was the Jack of diamonds. Both of them were on small hearts draw. Scooped the pot with a pair of 6 :)
I think it was a good call with the 97 hand. You pretty much broke it down. His limp re raise was too suspicious. I'll be in Arizona this weekend at the Talking Stick Resort. I anticipate some action.
Except for the crazy flush hand, I wish I had some of your “run good”. Lately been running into horrible luck and bad players. Sets beat by Q-7 off, flushes beat by runner runner full houses. I keep telling myself that I’m playing and betting correctly and this is just an anomaly but man, it’s frustrating! Love the videos!!
Really enjoyed both FIGO hands. You don't see flush over flush over flush very often, and the slowroll (and angleshoot) were totally uncalled for. You need to get some FIGO branded apparel! Hit me up!
You got slow rolled at 10:16 is what this whole thing amounts to. It's sucks and is poor poker etiquette but some guys are douchebags. Anyway, I enjoy the poker vids so keep up the good work!
Hey Mariano. At first, sry for my english haha... I am kinda new to the poker scene. I started last year to read 2 poker books and started a bit of online poker, but I think that is kinda boring instead of live playing. So I went 4 or 5 times live playing. At my first time i won, the other times I only lost money and got frustrated. Now, half a year later I found the love for poker again, but I am a bit scared to go play, because i want to play correct and dont lose money just because i am a noob... What would u suggest for a new player to read or watch? How did you improve or started at the beginning?
I know im coming really late and probably someone already pointed that out, but FIGO in Italian is a way of saying cool or something of that nature For example you win a great hand that’s figo
In the K10spades hand when you flop top pair and a high flush draw I would like to raise to 100. With most likely the best hand and such a great draw I like building a pot and fast playing there
It is part of the game, we are humans so get over it and you shouldn't be blamed to act too at the poker table, as long as it is not against the rules. Straddle for example is incorrect play but angle shooting not.
I have to ask, if you’ve only been playing for a year, did you join a training site and much did you study a day? You’re a very strong player for not even playing a year.
97 hand was genius. What’s your opinion on tipping? I don’t play very often (6 times a year) so I tend to over tip (10%ish) Just curious how you handle it.
If you're doing it for income, overtipping could be a death sentence for your winrate. If you're doing it for fun, tip whatever you think feels good :)
Wow, what are you doing with the 97 :O Keep putting that much money in with all that action... This time you held but I'm sure that's a losing play long term. Why can't one have a weak top pair who decides to go with it? Why do you discount the T9 suited and offsuit hands? If the game is playing loose they can sometimes have the T3/93 suited combos. When they have JQ you are flipping, J8 not a massive favorite and even if someone decided to make a move with a better 9 you are in terrible shape. Think its a horrible play to get that in and this time it worked out well. Good luck, hope to run into you one day.
