The trip ends here. Like most fishing trips this was a serious eye opener. It's crazy to think that fishing this good is only a few hundred miles away from my backdoor. After getting swerved by GT's for 4 days straight it makes me wonder why I even left the states in the first place..

I decided to drive from buffalo, ny to the canal on a whim after watching this video and was absolutely blown away. From the canal to surfcasting beaches for albies, it was the greatest fishing experience of my life. The fishing was excellent for 36 straight hours. No eating or sleeping, I was just absolutely addicted to throwing that next cast. Thanks for sharing this

im from Alaska and dont get impressed much with fishing in the lower 48 but id take a flight to the northeast to do some of this..this looked epic.. like the best day during a salmon run but with fish that are even more aggressive. very cool that you guys have this out there.

The afternoon you filmed this, a Kayak fisherman drowned up near Boston. No one is really sure what happened, but his kayak was beaten up pretty good and he was found near his life jacket but not in it. When you slipped on the rocks, it just reminded me that no matter how you fish there are risks. That being said, getting a striper in a kayak is amazing!

Jon--It's been nearly 40 years since I fished for Striped Bass here in the San Francisco Bay Area in San Pablo Bay. I remember catching a 17 pounder on a bullhead (live bait), and fighting it for 45 minutes to bring it in, to the boat. My good friend (who sadly passed away a few years ago) and his dad encouraged me. I was about 12 years old. My arms were sore for 2 days! Anyway..your video inspires me to get out and get fishing again, but the striper population is not that great here anymore. I may have to make a trip to the east coast some day in the near future. Thanks Jon.

It's funny cause the first time I walked into a bass pro shop I felt like you jon walking into that local fishing shop. Everything was strange and new. Congrats on the epic fishing. you would lose them all in the canal from snags ..and the current is almost 12 miles an hour .. you would be the only person throwing one while everyone else is laughing .. from how many fish he caught goes it look like he needed any other baits ?? I do well in spring/fall, i would recomend emeryville pier, halibut to, and point pinole, use frozen chovies and swimbaits

Tried it last September, it didn’t happen but I’m glad to see it here. We were at the park on the mainland side just north of the railroad bridge. Great morning, no action except the “Trash Train” using the bridge. That was actually cool watching how it goes up & down. Great times. Nice action on the video.

The striper fishing where I live,East TN, Knoxville area is like that almost year round below Fort Loudon and Melton Hill dams. It is awesome, 40-50lbs are common here, in my opinion the TVA has the best landlocked striper fishery in the country.

they actually do, they just aren't as fierce as the travelling salt water stripers. They don't have to run against the current or be chased by seals and travel from the floridas all the way close to New England, so naturally they are much much more powerful than the ones found in the lakes. Maybe they do have in knoxville but i will refuse to admit they are as powerful. They may just be fat pigs.. like them damn catfish and/or the grass carps.

Killjoy Crota I would have to disagree, the amount of undersized stripers taken by spin fishermen was insane and needs to stop. We need to put a much stricter regulation on them
