Josh I’m curious why are the nice fridges leaving the industry ? 😔and did you say the camp kitchens were going out too ? Ugh ! I love this 5th wheel!!!! ❤
Here's my two cents on the BR/BH carpeting: it's an extra bit of radiant sound and temperature buffering. You're sleeping in those rooms and carpeting absorbs sounds, temperature changes and all-round thumps, no matter the aesthetic they create. In those rooms, it makes for a more soundproofed sleep. Some of the best recording artists have put carpet on their studio walls. It's even noticeable when we hear you change rooms or areas with more of it. 😁
This thing is just begging for a desk in the back. I too would prefer a kitchen floor flush slide and probably a free standing table. I think the radius shower is the only other gripe I have being my side, but I understand why it was done in this one. I think the outdoor kitchen would be good for those full timers or seasonals who would probably have a deck, but then you might want the door to open higher.
Thank you Josh!!! Appreciate the standing in the camp kitchen!!! This IS a fun 5th wheel! This ticks so many boxes, it's hard to find the negatives and actually, I think I could live with the negatives. The shower ceiling pocket is SO cool! Thank you Josh for showing this nice rig! 😃👍
Wow, 60,000 btu on demand water heater😮these are not gas/electric water heaters, so people have to be mindful of keeping their propane tanks full especially if camping in the cooler months that may also require the use of their furnace👍
Love the skylight, theater seating with the table and chairs option, the bunkhouse sofa that should be in every RV and the quality standard features like porcelain toilets👍the only disappointment is their continued use of cheap Dollar Store 4” fart fans😢
Josh great video I was really appreciate it if you can show a mid bunk two bedroom fifth wheel camper with washer and dryer setup that would work good for someone like myself family with on the road I work road construction in Minnesota North Dakota got to have washer and dryer it's half the time we're in the middle of nowhere but yet need a camper that can hold up to be and moved every couple of weeks or so we live in it 6 months out of the year from April till November
The window behind the stove gives you cross ventilation. Keep the theater seat and change out the booth to a free standing table. Either remove teh cabinet above the toilet or reduce its size. I like the towel bar and the change in the ceiling in the shower, great move.
I do like this floor plan. I would choose the Franken booth for the other stuff. I do like the idea of having autumn type thing that you can move around. I don't mind the bathroom in the bunk house, Seems like the best use of space. I'm taller so I don't mind the outside kitchen being tall. I wish they had the driver's side door door to the So that you didn't have to kneel or squat underneath that door.
For me, and I know this is not the core use-case for a bunk-room like this, I really would like to see an option for some sort of fold out foam seating/bed for the area under the raisable bunk. Most of the time I would remove it and set that area up as a computer desk area. You already have that larger fixed bunk across and can let down the upper bunk, if it comes to that. And if you know you're really going to be loadin' her up, you just remove the computer desk setup and put in the folding foam furniture on bottom. Carpet in the bunk area doesn't torque me too much and probably would help with sound dampening.
Pretty good kitchen for a bunk house. Like the camp kitchen, but not how high it is. Clever with the ceiling in the shower. I'm only in 1 RV camper group and in the winter there are so many posts asking how to cover the skylight due to the heat loss (stuff it with a block of styrofoam cut to fit, or a pillow or two). The cabinet over the toilet either needs to be half the height, or eliminated since there is potential linen storage in the wardrobe slide. I like the suggestion of another commenter that GD should offer W/D hookups as an option for that half-bath (the window would probably have to be sacrificed).
i actually would rather have a real skylight window rather than a recessed light in shower, but otherwise a very cool floorplan, great outside kitchen for sure.... bunk room can be 2nd den or living room to a point.... nice.
Love it! Don't worry about me being biased towards fifth wheels. I would never get one because I don't have that kind of need but you just have to admire how awesome this is. If you see a fifth wheel, you know that those people like to party 💯 And this one Nails it! It is perfect for when you don't have people over and you never know who you're going to run into at the campgrounds 🍻
Do you know if there is kuch difference between the 2023 here and a 2021 or 2022 model? Seriously interested in a 311BHS but not interested in the new price.
I'd have the bed over the theatre seating, but that's just me. The half bath is always a bonus, no matter how awkward, my daughter and grandson would take up the whole morning in the shower between them. My daughter blew up 3 showers as a teenager!! Waiting in a queue for the toilet isn't something I want to do any more!! I wouldn't want anything close to my head in the bathroom. I think the skylight is fabulous, a lot of us in my family are tall. Not a fan of 2 doors in the bathroom, you'd be able to put the tv there for the bedroom and some hanging books in the bathroom if it wasn't there. Although I actually really like the kitchen ceiling light fitment, it will be a nightmare to clean, as it's not flush with the ceiling. Definitely more of a hit than a miss, for me, overall!
Josh, Jo Anne AGAIN 😂. My husband and I are having an argument. I said I don’t like this one because it only has two recliners and the tv is too small. He says you can modify the floor plan and I said if you’re going to want to do that the manufacturer is going to say, go get a different camper. How much room for changing the floor plan, is there in the camping world? He also says you can mount a bigger tv on the ceiling and pull it down (you’d have to meet him)🤣😂
Mfgs do not modify floor plans At all They may offer a couch swap to another of the exact same size such a hide a bed for theater. That’s it It’s not like a home where you can pick things and make adjustments from the factory
I don't have a window behind my stove at home. I have an easy to clean surface. I do however have brighter lighting over my cooking area. I would rather have no window and brighter lighting in that area. Cleaning cooking splatters off a window or shade or screen or valance just does NOT sound fun at all. Whomp whomp whomp 😒
Big downside that GD needs to redesign is the fridge. That is a glass front and the mechanism is a flimsy plastic piece that will NOT hold the doors closed during travel. Ask me how I know??? Travelling down the road the fridge opens slams against the cabinet and breaks the glass; to make matters worse a complete mess with fridge contents all over the floor. After talking to GD we were not the only ones to have this issue; other than that GREAT camper just watchout for that fridge.
Happy Easter I have a question is there a good and bad video on the difference between the moreride suppression system and the torsion independent system that rockwood use I hear good about both. Which is better and pros and cons. Thank you
I say it again. Lose the stupid island and put the sink on the counter inside the door. Travel access becomes 100%. I grew up in these rigs as early as a 1976. The island going away isn't as big of a deal as one may think it is
I like this model but the price is was high for me when I was looking last year. I ended up with the Cougar 32BHS instead. I liked the no slides on the camp side on the 32BHS.
We bought this recently, took it for first camping trip and shower leaked like a sieve from the bottom. It’s in the shop for repair, but we really loved it. Camp kitchen height is too high, bought a painters platform that folds up and works great. Looking forward for many more trips with this.
I think it seems busy and crowded, I get adding storage and there is no such thing as too much storage in RV’s. Still it’s not all storage and there is something in a contrasting color on every wall it’s was over whelming to me.
i love the light over the shower. This floor plan is very nice, even though I'm not looking for a bunk house model. Josh, you do such excellent work with the camera. When you are on the roof I forget that it's you up there...then when I remember I get nervous. LOL I appreciate the great footage, as always.
NO CARPET,(did I say that too loud, sorry) HUGE window beside the dinette, bumk room magic, kids love it! Love the accent lighting, it always cool brother, and the light in the shower is a simple great idea!!!!!👍 Do you ever get to review Trails West Elevated Trailers RVs? Check them out, another simple but great RV 30Ft/26Ft/24Ft
Nice camper. I appreciate all of the details that you provide for your subscribers. You always mention how manufacturers do not test of it is safe to occupy retracted slides. Simple question… why not? Are they afraid of what they’ll find? Are they afraid that they’ll be on the hook for more warranty repairs if it passes their tests? I’d like to pose a couple of suggestions for you. 1) Put up a survey for your subscribers asking them if the industry should test whether or not retracted slides could be occupied safely, then present those results to ALL the manufacturers letting them know how the consumer is demanding an answer to this question. 2) Since Bish’s has their own “Go Play” line of campers: why not you guys lead the industry and do this test yourself? It may be a good marketing tool for you. You can say (If true) “that Bish’s Go Play is the only manufacturer in the entire industry that is safe to occupy” or whatever. Just food for thought. Thanks Captain Nerd!
I think because nobody ever really brought it up before. Recently brinkley kind of broke that mold with their bed slides. They actually GO camping so they KNOW camping and they're making sure at least the bed slide can support people while it's closed.
@JoshtheRVNerd It looks like they did not put an emergency exit window in the bunk room. I would absolutely request that be installed. The room is there!
I like the range with the griddle burner in the middle. No matter how many times you tell them the kids will still have shoes on climbing the ladder to the bunk. To me the shelf/ladder doesn't really add anything for a shelf and looks to me to be mostly a dirt collector. I'm not sure how to handle it but I don't like seeing all of the toilet plumbing in the half bath. I like the dinette change they made for 2023 in the XLS 22MLE and think it would look better here too. They have stopped using the pleather on top of the seat backs and gone to a wood product with grain and stain that matches the cabinets. It really cleans up and updates the look. I'd like to see roll out drawers under the Dinette seat. I agree this would be a very good floorplan if they stopped at the living area wall and eliminated the bunkhouse. Hate the radius shower but love the recess tray light above it. You didn't demonstrate whether the shelf over the bed is a head banger or not. I mean I've always relied on you to get the concussion so we won't have too. 😁 I would say it isn't travel friendly with no place to put the kids with the slides in. A back cargo door would help here. I think it would be travel friendly in a no bunkhouse version.
The mirror in the kitchen is a bit odd With the bunkhouse I'd go with the theater seats. Great storage in the kitchen. Spacing by the stove is enough for a spatula and cooking utensils. The nightstands in the master bedroom look nice, but it looks like there is a bunch of wasted space compared to the ones that have the cubbies behind. It would also give more hanging room. Love the outdoor kitchen, a step stool might be handy to get into the cabinets though.
Big miss for me is no doors or drawers in the dinette benches. I prefer the stove window opening. I can pretend I'll get a cross breeze. In this model, I finally prefer the theater seats.
Yo, "Unka Josh", Doc here, thanks for the always awesome , informative, AND entertaining content...I was looking at the rear wall in the "bunk room" and I was wondering, is it possible to put a secondary entry door back there?, even if it was only like 48"x32", it would allow for maybe a kayak, or some e-bikes, but it would most definitely allow you to use the "POOP" deck in the back as well as the one in front (it just came to me, using the rear entry to use the poop deck...how apropos...lol)...you would lose the window (although theoretically, whatever size door you put in you could have a fixed window in it.) You wouldn't interfere with the ladder, nor would you affect the outdoor kitchen...this I. M.H.O. would really add to the unit without adding a huge cost overag. As for the non-skylight skyLIGHT in the front bathroom, although I'm not quite 6 ft, I REALLY like the idea !!....so, anyway, hope y'all in "The Nerd Herd" are good heading into the summer, stay safe, enjoy the outdoors responsibly (it's already been a bad start to the fire season up here), and if you're camping wild remember, if you bring it in, bring it out...Peace out "Herdies", from Doc, in the Great White ( very green for now) North of southern Ontario, Canada....🦫🦫🍁🍁
@@JoshtheRVNerd I get that Josh, but it would still be useful in this unit because it's unlikely that at this size and weight, it would be towed a lot...it's much more likely, again, I.M.H.O. , that this beauty would be more site-centric, maybe spring ,summer, and fall, then either winterized on site and tarped until the following season, OR, towed back to home base or a storage facility, drained, winterized and made ready to use next season, or whenever....so even though the slide would normally block the door in transit, I think the usefulness still makes it something that a consumer would be interested in. My idea with the kayaks or e-bikes might not be the best idea, but having the choice to have the door is something to consider anyway. Stay safe "Nerd"...much respect 👍👍...come up for a cup of Tim Hortons oneday...lol...or Dr.Pepper
