I went to vist karwan bazar on 11.07.2024 by dhaka metro rail from farmgate station and exit in karwan bazar station. It will take only 2 minutes walk from station to the market. It is actually located in the central part of dhaka city. The price of goods are very cheaper than other markets in dhaka. I captured video on a sunny day but after some time rain came. This marketplace is very large and crowded. Hopefully you will love to watch it.

You can read some words to know the history about these crazy marketplace-
During the Mughal rule, there was a customs check post located near Kawran Bazar. Many traders sold their goods there, before passing through the check point, to avoid paying tax. Markets have existed in the Kawran Bazar area since the 17th century. In the late 18th century, Kawran Singh, a Marwari trader established a market in the area and the market was named Kawran Bazar after him. By the late 19th century, it became notable as a marketplace for household products such as pottery and crockery.
Kawran Bazar has one of the largest wholesale marketplaces in Dhaka city. It is also one of the largest marketplaces in South Asia. As of 2024, the Dhaka North City Corporation owns four markets at Kawran Bazar, spread across approximately 24 bighas of land, consisting of 1,789 permanent shops and 180 temporary ones. The wholesale market has a daily revenue of 50 million Bangladeshi taka.
