My sister had a basketball shaped phone as a teenager. Now she is 40 years old. two years ago she mentioned missing her childhood phone and she wished she didn't get rid of it. I surprised her with it at christmas. I found one on ebay. Her husband made fun of me for getting her a "toy" and at the same time I surprised my mom with her shildhood antique doll she told me about a year beforehand. My sisters husband laughed and said my sister can call ny mom on her phone and have a playdate. I thought they were touching gifts, but their reactions were hurtful, and they didn't seem to care at all. Whoever sent those shoes to you gets it and is a very caring person. ❤

Omg! How kind of them to send those shoes! My family was poor growing up, so I understand where you’re coming from. It seriously brought tears to my eyes. I remember most would shop at Mervyn’s while we shopped at KMart or Family Bargain Center. I’d get picked on from the “popular” girls because of it too.

Yeah...if that was me, I'd have said, "I'm so sorry honey, I didn't know just how much that pan meant to you; I should have asked before messing with it. And we do so appreciate that you like to cook for the family. I won't do that again." I think he would have settled down, but her laughing made his resentment worse. In this case I actually feel sorry for him because I'm guessing he puts up with A LOT...

Bless you and Kathy both. I have nobody left to take care of me. I'm 70 and life is kicking me in the butt. My husband passed my two sons passed my third son had a stroke he could never take care of me. I've always been the one in the family to take care of the elders.. I worked in nursing homes for a lot of years myself and that is no place for the elderly.❤

Because it doesn't check all of their boxes. They would like to build a separate apartment for Jamie, and in their current house they can not. Also, because of the HOA, they can only have a certain amount of cars in the driveway. Most of the kids are driving or will be driving soon.

I have searched ebay, poshmark, some antique shoe stores, but I'm also not in a large city. Fayetteville and Rogers, Ar. are the largest areas around me and there are still lot's of places to look. I have a feeling they're going to buy a compound with eight little houses all around to have all the kids at arm's length. And that includes Halle and Alex. About a year ago they had asked the city for permits to build in their backyard but unfortunately they were denied because they already exceeded the amount of what percentage of the property can be built on. Apparently in their area there has to be a certain percentage of grass on somebody's property and they were not giving permission to get rid of that grass area. Otherwise I have a feeling they would have already built on the existing property

@AMH41406 there are people with disabilities like down syndrome living independently. They are taught all necessary life skills at home or in programs and then are very much able to live on their own. They might need someone to check in with them once a week to help with paperwork and such, but that's about it. Jamie could easily live that way. Easily. She just wasn't taught a thing in this household and is not expected to do something with her life - just like all the other kids. It's incredibly sad to watch.

HOA’s are common in parts of the USA. They can be fantastic or you choose to not follow your documents and complain online . There are beautiful HOA’s in my area that include golf courses and shopping or the basic ones with no amenities except a small community. You can read the documents prior to purchasing your home so there is no excuses on I DIDNT KNOW MY HOUSE COULDN’T BE PINK!

When I was growing up Indigo sweaters were all the rage in southwest ontario Canada . After Christmas was always hard as everyone in my school would wear them and I was one of the minority that didn’t get one. Those lucky ones would look at us losers as if we didn’t exist . I live in Australia. Today, Monday the 12 of feb here in South Australia, it will reach 38 degrees. In my area. Right now it 22 degree Celsius and it’s not even 8am. In 8 minutes when it is 8am we will jump to 26 degrees Celsius. It is already stinking hot out side and getting warm really quickly in the house.

Where I live, I have to pay a monthly HOA for the city I live in AND a separate HOA for my specific neighborhood. The good news is that the property value here is high. We are trapped by very specific rules about yards, house colors, etc.

Her husband surprised her with a brand new Chevy Tahoe and literally a month later it was gone and the current Escalade showed up. AND no video about it because what could she possibly say that wouldn’t make her look like a horrible person? What he surprised her with wasn’t good enough, she mentioned a Escalade was her dream car in the past. It’s crazy. An Escalade is pretty much a fancier Tahoe. So spoiled.

As someone who has specific pans to cook with for specific things, I can understand his anger over a pan. She said the same thing, it was nasty and she thought she was doing me a favor but instead she ruined 3 years of seasoning I'd put into that pan. Plus, like Aaron said, if you're going to get rid of pan then you need to have a replacement either at the ready or after you toss the old one go out and get the new one. Unless you have hundreds of pans already, if there's a go to tool in the kitchen regularly used then it needs instant replacement when it's chucked.

People are forced to join HOA's when they buy a house in a HOA neighborhood. I would never even consider buying in a neighborhood with a HOA but there are people who like that. To each his/her own.

I'm in the neighborhood next to them. HOAs are a bunch of power hungry Karens. No wonder he is on the board. 🤦 There are tons of houses with acreage in town. But they seem like they have no concept of our current housing market.

"Who would ever join an HOA??" Well I did but ONLY because the housing market (at least in our town) is so hard and prices are constantly rising. So when a house in our price range popped up i jumped on it, called my realtor that morning, went to work, then went to see it that evening where my realtor told me several others have already looked at it and it was less than 24hrs old. Thankfully, we got it because we couldn't afford a house now. Thankfully, our HOA is VERY lax. We've never had an issue. But we would love to move but the prices are too ridiculous now.
