Kent Pietsch up to his old tricks (and a few new ones) in his Jelly Belly Stunt Plane, a 1942 Interstate Cadet, as ex-con 'Chuck Dramamene' who built the plane in prison and smuggled it out one piece at a time.
And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. John 6:35 TODAY is the day of salvation!
To see this in person is unreal. It really is a wonderful performance. I briefly got to talk to the guy who did it too, saw him at the Brunswick Naval Air Station in Maine during a show once. The Blue Angels seemed to think it was pretty funny.
I've seen him a few times in London Ontario and Hamilton Ontario. I love stick and rudder flying... with or without ailerons...lol. For me it never gets old.
Agreed and this pilot know well how to use the rudder to control the roll. But what about the insurance compagny.??? Lot of paper work before that demo (sorry for my english I'm a french retired pilot) This plane is a pleasure to fly. I did my first solo in the WW2 version with the 65 HP engine. Very forgiving plane. But you have to be patient going from point A to B. NEVER forget to go to the loo before a long distance flight.
I have worked with him at airshows. A great pilot and a very funny guy in person. His act also includes landing that plane on top of a speeding van, then taking off again from the van.
a couple years ago in rocky mountain house i got to see him in an airshow, the best part is at the end he landed on the back if a pickup truck. one of the coolest stunts I've seen.
I LOVE the yellow high wing with no aileron on one side on the top wing. Priceless. Hellatiously good flying, I can't do that crap on the ground with the TAILWHEEL ON! ;-) I tried this with my RC, and on one aileron, there is not a lot of control authority....HATS OFF to this pilot.
Well, you really fooled me. I've seen this gentleman's act many times, and you fooled me into thinking that he had finally crashed his Interstate Cadet.
What's with the ratio of likes to dislikes? It takes the trick of being a competent comedian, the skill of an expert pilot and balls enough to do this all, risking your life to entertain a crowd.
I agree but then it says in the title its a comedy act, it says in the title it's a stunt plane and crashes is in commas. I guess people who know what to expect, simply have a functioning brain.
Kent and I flew model RC airplanes on his fathers runway in ND. He has flown a long list of aircraft and is one of the best. Very proud to call him a friend. He is also the chairman of our local Aeronca fliers club. Watch his shortest runway landing.
I have seen this act many times at the Russell field in Rome, ga . Ken is an awesome pilot and he also lands this plane on a pick up truck with a rack going down the run way.
@@contender730 I know, I'm just a curmudgeon. They do basically the same show at every rodeo, small town car track, lawnmower race, airshow, logging show, etc. I just dont have that type of sense of humor and it always makes me cringe.
Love those Piper Cubs and Super Cubs. I have a 46 J3C 85 hp, fun to fly and once you learn to fly it well, It will do anything you ask it to, except go fast.
I saw an act similar to that one at an airshow in Peachtree City, Georgia years ago. They called him the Flying Farmer. The act started like this one. He would pretend not to know how to fly. It was a hilarious show. As a pilot, I watched the show from a different perspective. I was in awe of his "stick and rudder" skills. It takes a lot of skill to do those routines.
Got to see him at McConnell airshow in wichita ks Landed that plane on a platform that was on a 1 ton truck at 60 mph. Was awesome...puts on a great show
the other really awsome thing kent dose is a stunt in wich he lands the interstate cadet on the roof of a truck its amazing how kent can do that the comady act was a big hit in trenton ontario canada at the 2016 airshow
i hope Kent comes back to trenton when they do the quinte international airshow agine he was a real hit everyone loved seeing his interstate cadet airplane i got a few great pictures of it and got to do a little walk around so I got some good angles while takeing some close up pictures
Seen this guy a couple of years ago at a thunderbird show at March AFB. This guy has insane skills and is a whole lotta insane! Got king Kong balls👍 that was the first time I seen a flying wheelie by a f16 that day too.
I love his shows, he's performing in Redlands, CA soon. The first time I saw it, I thought the loss of an aileron was a real accident, I was watching from my hangar so I didn't hear any of the PA system, making it look more real.
Yeap! Watched him do this routine with this plane at Stewart International Airshow a few times. Same routine every time. Also a similar routine done at the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome. Same kind of plane, slightly different take on the routine. Both of these routines have been going for decades. The one at Rhinebeck, all the way back when I was a kid. I'm 57 now.
Tbh - I’m MOST impressed by his balance on two wheels He did a perfect 180 and it was so smooth, i didn’t notice he was on two wheels till I replayed it coz of the sound effect Something did not look right about how quick he flipped that plane around 🤣 This guy is mental
@@Mach1Airspace well not my problem you have half as many dislikes as likes. You know full well what you were trying to do with your title. Dont act like I'm wrong.
But you are wrong. You read what you wanted to read. You let your blood lust distort the part that says it's a Comedy Act. And that, my friend, is not MY problem. Also not too worried about the like/dislike ratio. I have some videos 60-0 in favor of like. How 'bout you? What videos have you uploaded with a good like/dislike ratio? Any? Any at all? Let's check. Well, hmm. None. None at all.
@@Mach1Airspace I'll give you that your title at the end does say comedy act. However, the title states "Crashes" suggesting that during this "comedy act" (as you call it) there is a crash. There is no crash in any definition of the word, telling me that you added the word "crashes" to get people to click on the video thinking that there is a crash. Now we can go back and forth about who's right and who's wrong. I'm a huge aviation enthusiast and go to the oshkosh air show every year. I've see this act a lot of times. I saw your title and thought that he crashed it at the Melbourne air show. Now with that said was it a good video? Yes. Did I enjoy watching it? Yes. Did I click on the video becasue in the title it said "crashes" 100% yes. Not becasue on wanted to see this act again. My response is for that reason. I do not post videos on RU-vid. Well actually I've posted one (check it out). I feel very strongly that you added the word "crashes" to get more clicks. Maybe I'm right maybe I'm wrong.
VikingsFan27 Well, unfortunately, you actually are wrong, again. When a word is in “quotation marks”, ie “...”, as is the word “Crashes”, it designates either a quote, and therefore not to be taken literally, or it has a hidden meaning. But I used it correctly regardless. Didn’t Kent crash the air show? As in crash the party? Didn’t he butt right in? Causing the announcer to say “...woe, woe, woe, we’re right in the middle of an air show, sir!” Hey, my video! I can correctly use a word in the title any way I want. Now, in all fairness to you, am I taking advantage a little? Yes, a little. Of viewers’ bloodlust? Perhaps. But too bad. Maybe they shouldn’t always be looking for someone else’s misfortune, and death. The guilt is more on them than me.
I worked an AF airshow at Norton AFB, CA. As the crowds started PILING into the base, the announcer on the PA system started calling for the "owner" of a car; repeatedly, for about an hour. Then the final announcement was that they had arranged for a "tow". A Chinook helicopter, was lifting it to about 1000', and dropped. I actually saw people running back to the parking to see if it was theirs. 🤣
