I’m late to post this comment but REST IN PEACE to the try n run vette! On august 7, 2020 Austin posted on his Instagram (@try_n_run) the car engulfed in flames. Thankfully Austin was not injured. This was one of my favorite cars I’ve had the chance to video (and even drive!) and hate to see this build go down the way it did. Hoping to make a tribute video soon with the best clips from this video and the original video we did before it got the cam/pulley and forged pistons. RIP!! 💔
Very sad to hear! Any idea how/why the car caught on fire? Could the mods have caused it? It's obvious it was de-catted. I wonder if the heat from that contributed?
@@vhayne91777 It caught fire bc I was still running stock rods. The LT1 internals are not ment for boost. Ended up throwing a rod and oil hit the headers. I was on a windy hwy so the lil flame from oil hitting the hot headers turned into much more having the hwy air to fuel it. The car had a maggy 2650 supercharger on it and was making around 800 rwhp when it blew. Got a couple other builds going now though so hopefully will get with Alex soon to make some vids on the new rides!
@@fastguy1111 Man, that is so sad to hear! I know how a perfectly modded car can fill a special place in your heart, that is difficult to replicate. This car/video has been my favorite C7Z06 video for years due to how similar it is to mine. When someone asks me how my car sounds (666rwhp), I just link them this video. :) I had sold it to my brother who kept it for about 16 months, then finally sold it back to me - picked it up this past Sunday. God how I missed it! Had a Mclaren 570s, then purchased a C8 (still have the C8) inbetween. While both of those cars are amazing, even with aftermarket exhausts on them, they cannot even touch the craziness of the Z. It screams! It amazes me how when downshifting and it blips (or you blip it going under an overpass), just how loud that "crack" is. Amazing cars. I hope you are able to get another one going that's similar. And be sure to get more videos of it! :)
@@vhayne91777 Badass man! Yeah hard to beat the sound of screaming bald eagles!! lol Nice to know your baby is back in ur hands! Haha and I actually do have another c7 currently in the works aswell as a 5thgen ZL1. If you have an instagram feel free to add and stay up to date with the builds!! :)
My lawyer just served RU-vid regarding this video NOT having a prop 65 warning. Rumor has it I am willing to settle but it will most likely take something north of 8 figures...
Even without cats it should be much cleaner running than an old carbed car. That being said, it already makes a stupid amount of power with cats, why remove them?
@@FinnellRacing I think they have better things to worry about. Besides.....if they did, at startup their response would be...FUCKIT the damn thing sounds too nice, take us for a ride and we saw, or heard nothing
If any Police in the comments, I vouch for this guy, I live in Mexico and he's my neighbour, I see him all the time at our local Pemex Petrol Station, keep it moving Officer, que tenga buen dia👋
Well as someone who may or may not work for the police, I can say that if I did happen to see this car, the only reason he'd get pulled over is so I could look at it better. Some cops are gearheads too....lol
I love my Mustangs, but dear God that is one BADASS vette. All tha haters who calls it a midlife crisis car can suck on any 4 of those exhaust pipes. I'd happily midlife it with that car. Nice ride man, keep all 4 tires planted and take take care of her👍
I don’t call it midlife BUT I call it I got my money back. This is Sh!t I wanted to do but life got in the way. Wife, house, kids, etc now that the kids are gone and out of my pocket and house is almost paid I can spend my money on me and this is what I want No midlife just life
They use to call these cars mid life car's because all you would see driving these things were 40 and 50 year old but Chevy changed all of that once the c7's rolled out. Chevy realized that they needed a car to attract the younger crowds and so they made this but some of the older generation's didn't care for the car, felt it was to flashy and that Chevy was going away from there older tradition.
Right on Reggie! I own a Z06/Z07, and enjoyin' this thing daily (except rainy days!). I also love the looks and badass exhaust sounds of the Mustang GT's too. It's a nice car!
Damn 40 is old? I'm a few doors away and drive a modded C7Z06 and a Zl1 didn't get either as a mid life crisis car bc to me 50+ is where that might begin lol.
TCrob anything with lights or leds will flicker on camera its like when you take a picture at night and its lightly dark but you can see normal but the camera picks up only black.
Tcrob it is because the frequency of the LEDs flickering is detected by the camera recording. Normally the LEDs flicker so fast the human eyes cannot see the distinction between on and off so it appears on all the time. Cameras can pick up higher frequencies so they can pick up the flickering. If your camera doesn’t show the flickering it means it’s recording at a low enough frequency so that the LEDs appear to be unchanging (because they’re flickering at such a high frequency)
@@michaeln6658 It's also because due to the frequency of the flickering. Most electrical items such as lamps etc flicker at 60hz, and depending on whether you're recording PAL or NTSC which have different frame rates, if they don't match up to the frequency of the flickering it'll be visible in the video. Wzzly has a whole video explaining it
I personally didn't like the C7, I was more into the C6. Now... After looking at the 2020 C8 I have full appreciation for the C7 and now it looks even better than ever to me. This C7 ufff! What a beautiful loud monster! 💯👍🏻
@@plyr6369 I'm glad to know that someone had a similar story about the new Vette. One thing for sure, my 2 favorites Vette's are the C6 and the C5 but the C7 has my attention and full admiration now.
@@saltyfloridaman7163 yeah I'm still getting used to the c8. Can't tell if it looks good or not. I think I like the c7 better still, the looks of a front engine car are hard to beat
@@saltyfloridaman7163 agreed, seen a few they're definitely better in person. My favorite corvettes are the c2s and the c7 zr1. I've seen a c2 (not a split window sadly), still looks beautiful. Haven't seen a c7 zr1 yet.
No. Removing the cats. Sit in garage with the car running and the door closed and you'll find out the hard way. Other than that I'm all for high performance.
The only good thing about the new vette is the new interior. The older vettes has such beautiful exteriors but always fell short interior wise to the competition.
@@pigeon1519 I do like the interior as well except for that absolutely god-awful center divider with all the buttons. The interior needs to feel bigger than it is and that dam divider makes it more claustrophobic. And look, I know I'm making it sound like I don't like the new model but the thing is that's not the traditional Corvette "look." Corvette is suppose to have the front-engine, long nose, short rear look. This new design simply isn't that. So for them to continue calling it a Corvette is just...wrong. It's beautiful, but not Corvette.
@@pigeon1519 Yes! The C8 interior hit the bat now... looking good and going in the right direction. Let's wait and see how the mid-engine thing goes for the Vette.
Cristian Rodiguez - Some of the new automatics are faster than a stick. That being said, I prefer the manual. At least with an auto you won’t spill your beer.. lol..
That my friend is a very sweet ride that you've got yourself there! 😁 It's got a nasty throaty sound & all the power a guy could want, ok, I'm officially jealous! Enjoy it in good health....
Sounds damn good. All the haters talking about auto trans, you should research into the new transmissions and how quick they are designed to shift. Most new auto cars can run track times much better than manuals. Granted it's a lot more fun to drive a manual, if you are interested in numbers than the new DCT trans are the way to go.
Nasty car. I love the color and it sounds amazing, especially with how fast it shifts. Too bad the LT1 isn't a little more mod friendly. Changing the cam, upgrading the DI, and those weak pistons are what I dislike about them.
@@ShadowKX3 how do you know that for sure and considering that the signs are in English i highly doubt that plus the roads are way too nice to be in Mexico.
Hunter_Baxter There are English signs for tourists and or outside visitors & not all places in Mexico have dirt roads. Some roads being more nicer than the ones in the U.S
No it's in Georgia, I've seen this car multiple times on my commute to work just outside Forsyth county. The video does it no justice either. The first time it passed me I was on the phone and my fiancee thought a bomb went off. 😂
I'm not a C7 fan in the looks department. Never have been. I have to say though I would love to drive that car and appreciated it's performance. Nicely done.
stock lt1 doesnt even dyno 450. car was only on 11lbs of boost on 93 and stock fuel system. If you think it is supposed to make much more that what it did, you do not know much about cars
@@fastguy1111 oh I know and LT1 is not gonna make much more than that for these mods, it's the nature of the engine. All's I'm saying is that that's alot of money and mods to not even make 700rwhp. A bone stock 5.0 Coyote with 10lbs of boost will make more than that :/
I have a 2011 Z06 with the 7 Liter 427 I've put 10K in performance upgrades Donkey Dick Cam, head work, injectors, Long tube headers, stronger clutch, cold air intake, remapped the fuel delivery, dyno at 680 with no power adders like turbo supercharger or NOS just all motor and it is wicked. Lights the tires in the first 4 gears with a 5lb Power to weight ratio. I'm 58 and I traded my Laguna Seca Boss 302 for the Vet with NO regrets.
Am I the only one who prefers the auto or the manual? Shifting stick is fun and all but man nothing beats the instantaneous shifts and backfires that comes with the auto
