Wanted to stand develop a roll of FP4 and a roll of T-MAX 100 tonight (both 35mm) and seeing as I have a bottle of Rodinal and a bottle of Bellini Euro HC (HC-110 copy), I thought to myself "Has anyone stand developed with a mix of Rodinal and HC-110' and voila, your video came up first on my Google search! My two rolls are currently in a 3.5ml + 3.5ml developer (approximately) to make 700ml solution... Fingers crossed I get something usable!

Should be cool- if a little hot cut it to 3/3 at 40min-- happy shooting!

@@FIGITALREVOLUTION In the process of being washed, negs are looking good but won't be able to tell exactly how they've come out until scanned! Thanks for this video!

great experiments steve. you have inspired me to go do my own little experiments :D. would be great to see how you get uch great results out of your epson v750. i have a v700 and its sometimes hit and miss. have a great sunday

I plan on doing a multi part series on scanning from disassembling for cleaning to optimum resolution and how to get the best scans… I’ve compared my V750 with my tweaks and workflow to my Imacon 645 and in medium format it is so close and in many cases better! Stay tuned….

Shooting a 100 film speed at 400 would normally be considered a two stop push, but everything at 400 looks great. It doesn’t look pushed at all. Would you consider this an experiment in pushing film using stand development?
@FIGITALREVOLUTION
@FIGITALREVOLUTION 2 года назад
Sure- stand development for pushing can be a good option for contrast control and increased shadow density and film speed- but getting the right film developer combination is key

@@FIGITALREVOLUTION thanks for your response. Pushing film via stand development for contrast control - is this more geared towards darkroom printing, scanning, or both?
@FIGITALREVOLUTION
@FIGITALREVOLUTION 2 года назад
I would say scanning

Another interesting video. Any chance you could have the sample shots visible somewhere online (Flickr or your website for instance)? Thanks a lot for sharing

Not sure- really trying to just focus here on RU-vid with content- food for thought…

@@FIGITALREVOLUTION with many people watching videos on phones, it’s tough to judge the differences you talk about, although your zoom-in is handy.

I’ve been using the Min. agitation technique popularized by Adams. Recently switched to stand. Haven’t really compared them. Have you?
@FIGITALREVOLUTION
@FIGITALREVOLUTION 2 года назад
I have and find value in both- stand will be more forgiving to exposure +/- BUT will lack some of the initial pop you find with standard and min agitation technique- in the end all have the potential for great results….

@@FIGITALREVOLUTION Still learning to see what film can do that digital can't, but a lot of what I like about film comes down the tones, gradations, edge effects, and grain. When it all comes together, there's just nothing like it with digital.

This is great. Thanks for posting. One question: what was your mix for the HC110 and Rodinal? Thanks again.
@FIGITALREVOLUTION
@FIGITALREVOLUTION 2 года назад
For 500ml working solution 1ml rod to 3ml HC110 to 500ml H20

@@FIGITALREVOLUTION i felt confused after reading this comment and your response - in the video, you're talking about 2ml and 2ml of each. now i see 1ml and 3ml. Can you explain please why the amount is different from the video experimentation? And another question - for 120 film i use 600ml of solution in my tank. how should i mix Rodinal and HC110? 2.5ml and 2.5ml ? Thank you
@FIGITALREVOLUTION
@FIGITALREVOLUTION Год назад
@@VictorBezrukov the ratio is very subtle- 2/2 is perfect and 1/3 is also depending on the look you like- definitely experiment to see what you like. For 600 I would stick with the 2/2 ratio and if needed extend development by say 10 min max
@VictorBezrukov

@@FIGITALREVOLUTION Huge thank you for the response. I will try 2/2 today :-)
