That is a takeoff by 100% power and 200% faith. Short runway and high altitude = "Dear God, please don't let anything bad happen in the next 25 seconds."
Such a beautiful noise.... ...not of a plane ... , little angel's , and amazing Airport , lovely people No doubt short run-way and feels like Lukla Airport thou not as dangerous as Lukla.
Perfectly normal takeoff on a short runway in mountain terrain with full load and plenty of fuel. Avoided controlled flight into terrain. Avoided the incoming thunderstorm. What's crazy about that?
Cool. I live in Boston Massachusetts. I myself was born on the island of Dominica. I don't know alot about the culture there. The few times I've returned the people were so genuinely friendly it took me some time to get used to it. I've lived in the U.S for many, many years.
No Twin Otter in sight. The first aircraft is a German designed, but probably licence built in India, Dornier 228. the second aircraft is Czech built Let L-410.
It is in Far western province of Nepal. It does not have direct flight from Kathmandu but you have to change the flight. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZwiVDFBhpvU.html

Did anyone think that perhaps the buildings are BEHIND the person filming? Also, by crazy, I'm guessing they mean the short runway with no room for an aborted takeoff and high elevation.
i can not understand ... wid out controler aircarft take off ... no bildings not peoples in the ground thise type of airport fist time i ll see ... lolo
Not a busy place...no need for air traffic controller. Short runway, so they start with brakes on, engines full to build up thrust for lift quickly. Nothing crazy there. Want to see crazy...check out a fully loaded Boeing 737 take off in the same fashion at Santa Ana airport in Orange County, CA. Due to noise restriction around nearby neighborhoods, the Jets have to quickly get in the air and gain altitude away from residential neighborhoods as quickly as possible. So, imagine a large, double engine jet, brakes on hard, and engines at full throttle during the take off, and they do that everyday.
