Just dodge up lmao. It works even in >2700 games, just watch Sandstorm vs. Cody Travis- dodge up escapes all immediate reads so any follow ups have to read your movement as well.

Dodge up has no immediate reads, so if you dodge up and jump you can get out of gc slight. Sure it expends options, but they’ll be out of dodge and locked into an attack. Also even if you get hit it has much lower follow-up potential than other dodges because the ground is farther away and cannon can’t just slight-dair-slight-sair-rec. Sure you should never *always* dodge one direction, but if you had to, dodge up wouldn’t be too bad. Even if they read you you can mix it up afterwards by fast falling, jumping up in or out, double jumping in any direction, recovering or waking up. If you notice them adapting to you, that’s alright too. Adaptation just means that they’re changing their playstyle and that can be predictable. If you keep getting hit by gc slight, try another option like an aggressive dodge or a gc reverse wakeup. This usually works, but keep in mind what cannon legend you’re fighting. Onyx for example can cover pretty much every non-grounded dodge with a well-space nsig, so for that you have to expend a dodge and a jump or just get a feel for your opponent. Hope this helps
