CRAZY WRECKED SALVAGE 2019 Volvo VNL Semi Truck Bought At Copart | Rebuild PART 1 | 

Hey thanks again for everyone’s support on this build! BTW the Volvo we towed my wrecked semi with also was bought from copart wrecked same just like this one. My brother in-law “in the video” he fixed it up, so can I. See everything is fixable just letting you guys know this is not a impossible task. Yes there is a lot of work ahead but with blood, sweat and lots of tears I can do it... THANKS FOR WATCHING :)

That’s not “ghetto Rigging” they pulled the axle shafts out to tow it and that square board stops it from leaking any diff fluid. Completely normal thing to do for transporting

This proves what I've always said, " there's a buyer for everything"

$160K new, so, that'll buy a lot of replacement parts and stuff having paid $20K. I'll sub. Can't wait to see this progress through the stages.

Just a heads up the wood plank bolted on where the axle shaft goes means that the axle shaft was removed for Towing

I work at the manufacturer plant for Volvo trucks in Dublin. That vnl 760 was a new truck for 2018 well worth fixing. It was the replacement for the vnl 670. The d13 with the I shift trans will do everything you need and expect from any truck

Whats sad is that i drive the exact same rig and seeing this kinda carnage makes me wanna go home and chill for a bit!

That is a good deal. Everything on the truck is modular. So it’s like a lego puzzle only. Great buy.

I personally know guys rebuild wrecked semi / pick up trucks and machines for their own use on a Hutterite colony here in Canada. They have an extensive shop and a whole pile of cheap labor around when not farming much in the winter, they say some you win some you loose. It's not things like cab frames that are real expensive. It's all the small parts that add up putting a cab together you can't find used on newer trucks like this. Or get it done and the motor falls out on the first trip like happened with the last one they did that cost anything they saved doing it. I've rebuilt fire damaged farm tractors years ago for customers in my shop to, I won't do it anymore as there is so much you don't see until it starts leaking oil or don't work right after the work. If the frame and drive train are good should be a great deal. Saw a 2015 VNL cab for 9 grand so if u can find a cab under 20 plus miscellaneous. 50 grand for 150 grand truck sounds like a steal.

No vehicle, no matter how many bells and whistles, comes stock being death proof. Ya need a roll cage, and a full 4 or 5 point harness, special hans-type helmet maybe. I hate driving on the highway! Good luck doing the build, I think you'll do an awesome job, bro.

Horsepower isn't really a thing in trucks since torque is the actual power of an engine. Those trucks have roughly 350-500 horsepower but, 1450-1850 ft-lb Torque.

Before you attempt to startup, check the bell housing of the transmission. Volvo designed ir to break , so it would fold down in a hard accident so it wouldn’t enter the cab flooring. Seeing as it rolled, might have cracked and might bind the engine crank.

You didn't have to lift the second axle. All you had to do was disconnect the transmission. Thats why the sticker said "Severe transmission damage when towing". You cant just pop it in neutral and tow it. The reason for the wooden blocks is because the hub was probably leaking oil, or they removed the axle to tow it. 425 is standard horsepower for a Volvo so its not "Weak". When you tow a semi you always lift it from the back axle, but in your case you couldn't due to damage. Other than that nice find!

Easy work change the cab not a issue ,

i worked for a interstate tour bus company as a driver, another driver of ours took a curved on ramp to the interstate too fast and put the coach on its side and it slid about 100 feet, the whole body was tilted to the right, i thought it was totaled, but he insurance company took it away and put a whole neew body on it, when it came back it was technically a new coach. it was a Vanhool 2145, like you said, tf the frame is good, it can be fixed. good luck!!!

Each wheel has an axle shaft to go into the diff to drive the wheels. The truck was towed from the front axle. The axle shaft needed to be removed so that no further damage was done to the diff. I'm looking forward to this build. Good stuff, dudes!

As bad as it looks its still a better choice than buying a brand new one for 160k and working like a slave to pay it off. I think for 60-70 grand total investment you should be rolling and making your money back with it.

It's not much of a project. I've seen it done many times. As long as the frame and drivetrain are ok.The entire cab can be purchased. The suspension work will be substantial.

It's not a huge deal, your going to unbolt the damaged cab and install another one, repair the issues on the chassis. See this type of work in the body shop all the time.

hope u got deep pockets,,man,,that truck is pretty rough,,and its a Volvo,,there like a bic lighter disposable,,i drive a 2018 had at least 7 in the 34 yrs of driving and i can tell u theres not many fans of them,,with out a clean tittle it will be a tough sell
