*NOTE: In the video I had shown the honeycomb, stainless steel consumables, and rotary tool were included in the kit. THIS WAS ONLY FOR PROMOTIONAL REVIEWERS. These items and the enclosure are all needed to be purchased separately! The actual purchased product details are subject to the standard "In the Box" details provided on the official Creality website. I apologize for this misunderstanding.

Creality recently ran another promotion for this bundle for $399 (mid-July, 2024)! I had no idea that's what I ordered (the bundle). I was soooo excited when I opened the box and saw the rotary tool (I'd ordered the upgraded honeycomb already, thinking I was going to need it, so now I have an extra smaller one). So they must run this special every so often.

Excellent informational video, thanks. Perhaps the ply burning issue you had at the edge of the board was due to oil from your fingers affecting the burn, as it's probably the sides where you held the board. I take care not to touch any of the surfaces, particularly with anything absorbent, as you can't see the oily fingerprints but they are definitely there. I had similar issues creating PCBs in the past where etching didn't work well where my fingers touched the copper. Just a guess, but perhaps another experiment to try in future?
@EmbraceMaking
@EmbraceMaking 11 месяцев назад
You might be right, I'll have to test that further - usually on tumblers and things where finger prints are visible I always wipe them away first. With wood it's easy to forget they are there / soak into the wood and perhaps have some impact... good thinking.

I got the limited number "Pro" 40w kit for $1510 after tax and it included the three optional pieces. The extra holes on the bottom also hold the extra leg pieces for the tumbler roller.

🤯 I know how to keep the steel from warping now, and at a more consistent temperature but I don't know for how long ... And I haven't even ordered a laser yet 🤣 If you're just engraving and not cutting, I don't see why not, just set the plate of metal on top of a flat and level ice pack 😎, and find some things to hold everything in place without getting in the way of the laser head. Making it cold will change the required settings and most likely make it take longer, but it couldn't be much longer with .05 mm stainless steel foil 🤷🏼‍♂️ liquid cooled with something that can't melt or get warm before you're done would be even better but I wouldn't know how
@jshendrickson1
@jshendrickson1 Месяц назад
I recently changed my mind to this one after I thought I had my mind set on the Longer Ray5 20W diode laser. The Falcon 2 looks like it cuts better, gets better color results on stainless steel, has better (amazing, actually) cable management, and the way the laser head slips on and is adjusted looks a lot easier, more solid, and more accurate than the Ray5. Oh, also, the Falcon 2 comes with the frame already assembled, the other doesn't. And they're both discounted under $600 right now on their websites (without accessories) but the Falcon 2 has included and built-in air assist. It just dominates overall 🤘

Two questions: Creality has the rotary with the chuck (not sure if they had it a year ago), but do you have the same issue with that, if you have used one before? And did you find that you had the same issue with LightBurn and the rotary as you did with LaserGRBL and the rotary?
@rosscustomstudio

awesome video :) I just bought the Falcon 2 pro 22w and I can't figure out why my tests keep a consistent line. There is no cut off while it's doing its thing, it just keeps running with the laser keep running when it needs to start a new segment. I can't find anyone having this issue. I'm in hope there somebody on here or you that can help me.

I would like to install a male-female extension to avoid damaging it by plug in and out the rotary kit." thnx ^^

It doesn’t seem to matter what material I cut. When I get it to a speed it cuts through, the engraver runs for a while then stops with the lens contamination alarm (The right red light), I reset the laser and continue, it runs for a bit then alarms again. What am I doing wrong?
@TheBlackDove

Wow, seems like a good product. And reasonably priced. I’ve had mixed results with creality in the 3d printer world. Id be curious how long these last without issues. Sufficed to say I’ll just wait for a holiday sale or a giveaway to try and get one.

Thank you! I believe in LaserGRBL you can write to the controller and change the soft limits of the machine. Then if you changed the frame up and extended it you wouldn't be limited by the soft limits anymore

@@EmbraceMaking I already figured you must be a fellow papper/osassian who else has the idea to use such a hose :) I just bought an upgrade for my Ender to do some light laser work but will definitely get a Falcon 2 when my new workshop at home is done. At school we have CO2 lasers (in a Makerspace/Fablab) but students are always using them a lot so better to also have the tools at home.

'thread forming' - better known as self-tapping. Fume extraction- instead of fitting a filter, just run a tube from the 'blow' side of the vac to the outside world. 100% effective and zero cost. mm/min seems a bit strange- why not use mm/sec? - this is the correct SI unit.

Wait---you can actually LOWER the head that far? Mine stops level with the bottom screw! I can't focus anything. Always have to raise my material up to get focus. What's the deal?

When using the bucket extractor, do you just use the bucket alone or do you also vent from the bucket to the outside? I thought I saw a video like that but now I can't find it.

Hi... Nice video. Thanks! I do have a question. What do the LEDs on the laser module mean? I've seen them change from green, red and even yellow, but I have no idea what they mean. I couldn't find anything in the manual or Creality website.
@EmbraceMaking
@EmbraceMaking Год назад
On your USB drive you should have the instructions and one of them says laser module alarm function or something like that. Basically there are 3 LEDs 1. Air assist - Green is good, yellow means partially blocked flow or low flow. It might show yellow if you even turn down the air assist to a low setting, doesn't necessarily mean something is wrong. Red means it's blocked / off I guess. 2. FIRE - I'm guessing red means fire (I haven't lit one yet lol) - yellow is RISK of fire but you can proceed - and green is good 3. LENS - green is clean, yellow is warning needs to be cleaned, red means clean the lens now To reset the alarms you can press the reset button on the laser head

Can this cut through stainless steel, it is advertised that it can cut .15mm with 1 pass, can you confirm and if so have any videos about it?
@EmbraceMaking
@EmbraceMaking Год назад
I can try... Recently I did 0.1 stainless on a 40W xtool and it will go through... But you're pumping a lot of heat into the thin material so expect wrinkling and distortion of your material

Great video. However, the smoke extractor will collide with the cable guide on the left side when the laser performs homing. How do you handle this?
@EmbraceMaking
@EmbraceMaking 10 месяцев назад
This shouldn't be an issue on the 22W because the module is still narrow enough to get the nozzles beside without hitting anything. On the 40W it comes with a bumper for the limit switch so you don't have interference (but you will lose 5mm on your x axis) see here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-J26kbJYS9Eg.html

Could you not have simply turned the rollers on the steady-rest upside-down? They look reversible.
@EmbraceMaking
@EmbraceMaking 11 месяцев назад
I believe I tried that, but then the issue was that I still couldn't extend the steady rest out far enough to fit the whole long skinny bottle on there. The bottle would hit the bracket and still wouldn't work for me. That's why I ended up separating the two parts and making a base for the steady rest as well.
