Just picked up one of these from Micro Center for $99! I’ve run an Ender 3 Pro and V2 for a couple years now and just decided to jump into the resin game. Glad to hear it seems like a good entry point!

Nice review. It was very informative and I just ordered a LD-002R from Banggood for $129.00, so I'm still waiting for it to arrive. I also ordered a Creality UW-01 washing and curing station off of amazon for $99 to make cleaning and curing prints a breeze. I like the fact that you detailed all the metal parts in the printer because I wasn't sure the vat was. However the scraper/spatula you were claiming to be useless I find to be very helpful. I received one with my Ender 3 and I use it on all my printers because it is so thin and flexible with a nice sharp edge and gets under the prints stuck to the build plate. Now the one that came with my CR-10 is thicker but not as flexible, more like one you'd buy in a home improvement store. But all in all a well done review and I look forward to using it alongside my FDM printers.

Thanks for watching! I should have been more clear. Most scrapers that come with 3D printers are indispensable tools. The one that comes with this printer is so cheap and flimsy, it can’t even be called “bottom of the barrel” because that would be too kind, lol. The handle is plastic and the edge of the scraper is blunt. So while you are struggling getting the blunt edge of the scraper under the finished print, the plastic handle will snap off at the blade. Like I said earlier, I should have elaborated more. Cheers!

Like you I just ordered the LD-002r, but now I'm having doubts. I noticed it does not come with the USB drive. And now I'm reading all kinds of reviews about the fact you can't get a USB to work in the machine and it is basically a brick. I wonder how good the return policy is on this thing, because Creality is not offering any help.

Glad to hear it. Might just be me getting cold feet, lol. You know what they say about believing everything I read on the internet. This will be my first step into resin printing, lasers and filament don't scare me but liquid plastic does, lol. I'll let you know how it goes.

This really helps, cause Im stuck between ld2r and ld2h. Now im decided that ld2r is still worth a shot anyways may I know what resin r u using on ld2r? Thanks in advance!

I use Anycubic standard gray. It isn’t anything special, just the cheapest “name brand” resin on Amazon. If I had to choose between the ld2h and the ld2r, I would pick the Voxelab Proxima. It blows both out of the water and costs less. You might want to check it out.

I like it does a solid material printer use less or more then a resin printer as in kilos or liters

I think it all depends on your settings. If you print solid models with no hollowing, you will use more resin than filament because resin is more dense than PLA. Hope that answers your question.

@@SouthpawWorkshop ov no idea on printers I like this one as I want to print 28mm figures for DND fantasy wargaming I do wonder if it would be cheaper in the long run. Once I have the printer a UV dryer and dip tank is needed?

You will need to clean and cure the prints somehow. I use isopropyl alcohol to clean and I made my own UV curing station, but some people just put their models out in the sunlight and that does a good job at curing the resin. If you don’t want to deal with the alcohol, you can buy water washable resin.

Quick update I got a proxima and I love it had it since Wednesday first print failed changed the settings all great now and I already have a dwarf army printed thoroughly recommend it I use eco resin from elgoo with meths

Hi, I'm going to get one of these printers, but I'm wondering how accurate the printing is. Is it possible to print a working piston and cylinder?

It all depends on the accuracy of the 3D model, but yes the printer should be able to accurately reproduce anything.

Lots of debate about the fumes. While the lid is on, you won’t have any problems. But when the cover is off and you are processing the print, you will be exposed to resin fumes. They don’t bother me that much, but I do have an organic vapor mask when I am working with large prints or cleaning my printer or something. I find the alcohol that I use for cleaning the prints bothers me more than the resin smell. My advice is to keep it in a room or closet that isn’t continuously occupied. I keep mine in the basement. You probably don’t want to keep it in your bedroom. Thanks for watching.

Depends how much ventilation you have. If there's a window and you can set up an extractor fan to exhaust out of it, that should suffice. Or if it's a tall house, you're upstairs and it's cooler outside, natural ventilation (from thermal convection) may be enough.

I think creality is overrated. I have an ender3 all done up with every thing u can possible have to make the junk better. It’s not. I fight with the damn thing all the time. Sick of it. The anycubic is cheaper and looks like it prints 100xs better than creality. A resin printer in 2k. Seems kind of useless to me when I get the same results with my filament😂 don’t really need metal. Sure it beefs it up. But really. Why metal. Plastic is more than sufficient. It’s just lights under there and some components. I think what anycubic is doing is better than creality. This goes to apple and android. Highly talked up for no reason. People buy an apple bc it works. Period.
