Cream - Politician live at Royal Albert Hall, London.
November 26th, 1968
4 of 11
"Farewell Concert" is the live recording of the Cream's final concert at the Royal Albert Hall on November 26th, 1968.
Directed by Tony Palmer, the film incorporates pieces of six performances with narration by BBC announcer Patrick Allen, along with interviews with the band members themselves, showcasing their playing abilities.
The film has often been criticized for both its mediocre sound and visual effects.
In 2005, a special extended edition of the concert appeared featuring full versions of all songs separated from the narration and interviews. The new version featured digitally remastered sound and video including three bonus songs.

@anthonygerace8926 It was the pattern of these explosions of real TALENT in the 60’s + 70’s. It was easy to gain big time fame if you were a talented band, because of the era; us post-war Baby Boomers were ready to ROCK; and buy albums! Music corporations, naturally, being the Buzzards they are, pushed these creative, sensitive, temperamental, musicians HARD. Those bands had to tour and constantly be together, when all they really wanted was to create the consummate rock song and chill. Then there was the drugs… and the hangers-on, the groupies, and sycophants. So a lot of very talented bands broke up. And even worse, added to the Age 27 legend/ superstition. Curb your critical tongue. At least Clapton got two of them together for a reunion tour in the early 2000’s - I think. Not sure on that date. But during that tour someone recorded Ginger Baker’s drum-solo-EXTRAORDINARE. It’s freaking amazing, and he was 76!!! This solo is on YT. I suggest you check it out. Like I said: Real Talent.

I'm a bassist, also and still have my '63 EB3. When it came to Cream and the "soli sections" it was really a conversation between three genius and dynamic individuals who knew the subject matter as well as the other. There was agreement, conflict and totally "out there" statements. To have the camera on one person would have been abominable.

During Blind Faith and Cream, Clapton stated that he never wanted to be the "Lead" band member, or even sing.Winwood said that Clapton always made him come forward as the "leader" in Blind Faith.. He broke out of his shell in the late 60's and began being more comfortable in singing and being the front man/Lead band member. I Love Clapton, I'm a HUGE fan, and I appreciated the fact that he was so talented, but didn't want all the lime light on himself.. It speaks volumes about his character.
