Hi Anthony, it is a little on the pricey side, but it is so good. It makes 10 servings, so that helps. I didn't cost out all the spices and veggies, but using Amazon for the fish base and our local grocery store for the salmon, halibut, shrimp, baby clams, and heavy cream, the total is $51. The halibut is $18 of that, so you could substitute another, lower cost white fish if you want. The fish base is $12 of that, and you will have plenty left over to make this recipe again or use in other recipes.

We have nothing in our grocery stores btw. I mean some of the more "exotic" stuff. Its pretty lame when fish stock is considered kinda exotic in your country isnt it? 😆
@@milemile4813 Clam Juice is the liquid from canned clams. It can be replaced with fish stock. I've never heard of fish base but It looks like stock powder? (I have no clue)
@@milemile4813yeah fish base is powdered fish stock which is why only 4 tablespoons are used. If using liquid stock I think replacing the water would work
Hi Jeff, thanks for the comment. Have you tried this recipe? It is so flavorful. The water is used to change the fish base into a fish broth, so the recipe does have a broth. Wine could be a good addition, but we haven't tried it.
@@jamesnigro6821I mean to each its own but a little white wine couldn't hurt but nothing wrong with water for Hypertension yes that can't have the sodium or alcohol that will raise their blood pressure.
You can use seafood stock instead of water, but then you don't need the fish base in this recipe. We prefer the fish base and water, but if you don't have the fish base and want to use seafood stock, that will work too.
