Hi i12bretro Thanks for all your videos and your checklists. I am just discovering them and they are very well done: short, clear and straight to the point. Is thisBootable ProxMox VE USB Flash Drive usable from any machine or only from the machine it has been created through ?

Thanks for the comment. It's bootable on any modern machine. I use one when I'm testing different things for video ideas. May have to reconfigure the network on some devices, but Proxmox will boot

@@i12bretro Thanks for your quick reply How do you recommend to setup proxmox storage on the bootable usb ? I am currently thinking of having a 128GB usb key and setting proxmox storage from the oracle VM just like your "Try Out ProxMox Virtual Environment in VirtualBox" video Do you foresee anything which could go wrong ^_^ ?

I've actually never tried running VM storage from USB flash drive. I'd expect it to negatively impact the VM performance. I use it to run the Proxmox server itself, then put VM drives on a HDD or SSD

hi, followed your tutorial...installed proxmox...all went well, i think... i am stuck at pve login....how should i login or how how should i move to web ui.. i am just unable to do anything...would appreciate your help...thanks..
@i12bretro
@i12bretro 2 года назад
You can login with username root and the password you set during the installation. You'd need to use another PC to hit the web UI or you can install a desktop environment if you don't have another PC.

@@i12bretro I tried username "root" with set password... but its not working.. what went wrong actually, i dont unnderstand.... is it the IPaddress or gateway etc...which i changed..... how can you help.....thanks
@i12bretro
@i12bretro 2 года назад
There's not much I can do to help. You set the root password during the install and by default root is the only user account for proxmox. You may need to reinstall

@@i12bretro ok....has this got to do with management network config..... must i leave the settings as default or use WAN config as per router.....

I'm not sure what you've done here. Are you able to log into Proxmox locally using the root user? You don't need to change anything on your router
