@@gainthegrain7399 It's just a beta/preview though. I'm trying to do production. I can't risk jumping into the deep-end with that quite yet. But, thank you for telling me about this. I used to check for Mac support all the time, but have given up as of late!
learnt a bunch of little things from your video like how to use vertex maps that had no idea existed or what it does but how do you get octane do you have to rent it on the site?
Whenever I add a displacement node with any value above 0 on the Dirt/Rock mix material it stops reading the vertex map and makes the entire landscape the color of the second material in the mix material. :/ Am i missing something?
Help!! Whatever i do I cant get the mix materials masked with vertex map like you when using texture mode in displacement. It works when i switch to vertex mode in the displacement at that point i have the matierials masked with the vertex map but i dont have any displacement .... going crazy here
Same problem aswell. Anyone find a solution? With no displacement on either mix material the planes are on the same level and only the rocks or the dirt will show...
@@DigitalNativeTV well i know a few good web sites, i think maybe like do a tutorial with textures from this map, just to show how to node everything and make a displacement right, Couse i tried with my textures and its doesn't come close to what you did, so it's sucks
These materials are by RDT Textures, so we did not create them. There are plenty of free resources for materials out there these days. Check out cc0textures.com/
I wish someone would do a tutorial without using an external renderer. Many of us out here do this as a hobby and can’t afford to pay for external render
