Created my first 2 journals now waiting to get approved, I'll update if I don't forget lol Update: My journals got published! Things to note before you publish yours: 1. Make sure you don't have repeating words in the title and subtitle 2. Your journal pages can't be blank (e.g. if you're trying to publish a sketchbook) if you want a more versatile notebook I advise you to make dotted pages. There's a tutorial on youtube on how to do that just type how to make a dot grid in canva. My journals weren't accepted because of these 2 things on the first try but after some editing I resubmitted them and it worked! Good luck to whoever tries this :)

Hi Sean, I wanted to give whoever is reading this a heads up. I’ve been publishing KDP books on Amazon and have had some success. I recently found my books, as well as other books, being sold on TikTok Shops with the price marked up higher. I’m pretty sure what they are doing is buying the books on Amazon, which is cheaper, and then reselling them on TikTok shops at a higher price. Because of this, I will no longer be selling any books on Amazon and have unpublished my books, which broke my heart. I think you should do a video about this and let other authors know what’s going on with TikTok shops. This is a major problem and I don’t think a lot of authors are aware. Thank you.

So someone was buying your books? That’s good. Why do you care if they are reselling them. If you were fine selling at that price to begin with, then think of it as a distributor buying from you and increasing your reach. Unless you have another point on this that is not clear. Another way to think of it - would you rather sell 10 books at the price you asked with no Tik Tok resales, or 30 books with Tik Tok resales? I’d take the latter.

@@terryrl I don’t know if your a troll or if you yourself are stealing people’s ideas or books and selling them as your own and profiting from them but let me tell you one thing, I make very little to nothing on the books I sale. I was trying to build a brand so I can eventually sell more copies and in turn finally make a decent profit. When someone steals from you and just copies and paste your words and makes a bigger profit off of what you created off, that is not acceptable!!! Please do not respond back because I will ignore you!!!!

Most of my sales of came from gag gifts and they do so well during the Q4 period. I never tried with journals but I just publish 2 so let’s see how that goes 😅

I love the is tutorial. Thank you! When I made my 6x9 it told me the interior selection was too big (6.1 x9.25). KDP edited it for me as I wasn’t sure how to go back and change it but just curious if the inner manuscript should be smaller than the 6x9 book. Thanks!

Very interesting. I'm a total newby intrigued by this use of Ai, KDP, Canva etc to make a £million+. Ill start with zero and let's see where it goes in 12 months from today 16 May 2024. I'm near retirement age so, I've got 5 years to test this system out. If I gain a £Million+, I'll support other newbies via a video of 100% genuine advice that states the pitfalls or benefits.

Position on the top will show you all the layers he is referring to the instructions he added on the 1st layer. You can delete previous layers by going to position at the top of the page.

Hey Sean, around 13:00 you recommended adding graphics like pens, flowers, animals, etc. I currently have a journal that uses a different graphic for about 50 different pages. Are these graphics subject to copyright infringement? I've been looking all over canva's copyright pages but can't seem to find anything that indicates single graphics per page with the lines/words.

You can double check the usage terms for individual graphics (when you hover your mouse over the image there's three small dots that appear, click that and it will show you more details. Right at the top of that details box it will show you "Free For Canva Pro" or something similar, and to the right of that has a i in a circle. Clicking that gives you the full details of what you're allowed to do with that image) - majority of the graphics on Canva allow you to use them on or within products that you plan on selling.

If I download images from various free websites and then edit them, would this be considered AI-generated content? Also, if I create cover images using images from different image generation sites, would that also be considered AI-generated content? If I download some non-free images and edit them with the help of an AI image generation tool, and then make some changes in Canva, can I use it for my KDP book content? Does this content belong to AI-generated content?

To turn on the ruler in Canva, follow these steps: 1. Open Canva: Go to Canva and open the design you are working on. 2. Access the File Menu: On the top-left corner of the Canva interface, click on the “File” menu. 3. Show Rulers and Guides: In the dropdown menu, find and click on the option that says “Show rulers and guides.”
