In this painting demo, I'll show you how to create a stunning vibrant abstract painting with greens and blues! Get ready to unleash your inner artist and dive into the world of bright acrylic paints.
To create this colorful art piece, we will be using a range of shades of green and blue acrylic paint. The colors include green gold, lime green, bright aqua green, Winsor blue, Payne's gray, titanium white, cadmium orange, neon orange, vermillion, alizarin crimson, and titanium white. The combination of these colors will bring a burst of life and energy to the painting.

We'll be using newsprint to create texture in the background, giving it additional depth and dimension. This is a simple technique that will add an element of interest to your artwork.
As we begin, I'll show you how to apply the colors to the canvas, blending them quickly to create a harmonious blend. We'll explore different brush strokes and techniques that will give your painting a unique character and flair.
Throughout the process, I'll emphasize the importance of playing and experimenting. Acrylic paint is a versatile medium that allows for a lot of experimentation, so don't be afraid to play around with the colors and textures.
As we work on the painting, you'll see how the greens and blues come to life, creating a vibrant abstract painting that is truly unique. The focal point of orange and red in this piece will bring a pop of energy and interest.
So, grab your brushes and acrylic paint, and let's get started on creating a beautiful piece of art that will be the centerpiece of any room. Join me as we explore the world of acrylic painting and create a vibrant abstract painting that will leave you feeling inspired.

Beautiful painting. The colors go so well together. I love all the negative space in this piece. I have a difficult time leaving the ‘empty’ space, but seeing your piece gives me the confidence to try and work on it. Thank you for sharing your process.

Thank you so much, Leachy! One of my go to techniques when working on a painting that's not doing well is to add more negative space. It helps 'carve out' and highlight the parts that are working. With that said, this is one I planned for the empty space.😊

I didn’t get it until you put the mat on it! I liked it, however I wonder what it would have looked like with a lighter white wash or a brown wash on it, so you could see the paper text a bit more! I loved the colors

Thanks so much, Jonathan! I didn't go to art school. I started painting in January of 2020 and learned from watching videos on RU-vid and SkillShare and painting A LOT. I took one introduction to drawing class a long time ago. How about you?
@jonathanwilliams4149

@@chrisloudart YEH!!! 😁🙏LOL. I was hoping you would say that because now I know there’s hope for me !! Well, maybe!! Lol. For the last year, I have been obsessed with watching artist RU-vid tutorials, and I do it almost every night after work and on the weekends and no telling how many different artists I have discovered and watched and trying to learn how to paint my watching RU-vid videos. When I was younger and painting some and my mom painted some, but I’ve never had, any sort of training or class although I’ve always wanted to, but never have but decided at 60 years old, by damn, I was going to learn how to paint and even though I couldn’t afford to take art classes, I was gonna learn with RU-vid classes. Lol. So I am so glad to know that you are not a professionally trained artist and you learned the same way I am trying to.:-) I’ve learned so much and gotten so many great ideas and it’s been wonderful but I still wish I could have somebody sit with me or me sit with them and watch them up close paint something and ask questions and get them to watch me paint and tell me what I’m doing wrong here and there, etc. I just wish that I could do that and I’m going to try to save up money to at least have a one time session with an artist in person. I think it would help me greatly to have somebody sit there with me. But again, thank you so much for replying my message and for giving me such great news and giving me so much, Hope. You are very talented and I’m amazed at what you’ve learnedand how well you’re doing based on your method of learning. You should patch yourself on the back because you’re doing great! Thanks again and take care.

Just beautiful Chris. Colours and composition are great. I like the helpful way you describe what you are doing. The newspaper made a really nice interest under the white. I must try that some time. I have some old thick pages that have fallen out of a dictionary that I have been saving for this purpose. You nailed it!
@chrisloudart
@chrisloudart Год назад
Thanks, Jen! I bet you'll come up with a brilliant use for those pages. I was at an art exhibit last night where the artist used many old pages in her work and loved the character they added.

What type and size paper did you use here? And brand 5:36 of paint?
@chrisloudart
@chrisloudart 3 месяца назад
I'm used 9x12 inch 98lb/160gsm mixed media paper. I typically use lighter paper like this for my warm-up and practice pieces. At 5:36 I added Winsor & Newton Titanium White. I believe most of the greens were Liquitex Basics and the rest were Winsor & Newton in this piece.

@@chrisloudart Thanks. When artists do stuff like this on paper, what is their underlying intention? Do they do it just for their inner satisfaction or practice may be, or is there any financial aspect also?
@chrisloudart

I primarily work on paper for practice, experimenting, and for fun. With that said, I've sold several of those paintings as well. They're easy to mat and frame.
