I felt really intimidated about starting my own discord server. Thank you so much for this! It wasn't all all in one sitting thing for me. Had to take breaks, but I couldn't have done it without this vid! Ended up writing an outline on Notes for Categories and Channels for preprep. That helped drastically!
Yeah its challenging at first but fun in the end. I've always loved discord communities after being admin on large ones made my own and had alot of fun with it.

This is amazing, just a side note, the special charters used for invisible space work for the PC version but it looks weird once you open your discord in the mobile version. I hope this helps to anyone :) I was really excited how it looked on PC and once I went to mobile version I was disappointed lol.

If you uncheck the "write message" option in default permissions, that means you don't need to change this option for each other roles in category if you don't want this roles to write on channels. Only what you need to do in this case is to change permissions for Mod role if you want that Mods can write there. If you need to add some alternative permissions to other roles on this category and it's not "write message" you can just leave this permission in neutral posiotion (gray slash). Thanks to this you have less work in channel permissions.
Rule 1: Dont spam! Rule 2: Dont ping such as @Owner @Admin Rule 3: Do not keep rejoining if got banned on a different account! Rule 4: Do not Post anything innappropriate such as nudes/swear words and so on Rule 5: Do not sponsor yourself unless in its own channel Timeout breaks: Warning 1: 30 minutes Warning 2: 1 hour Warning 3: 12 Hours Bans: Ban 1: 1 day Ban 2: 1 week Ban 3: Forever! I made for my server just copy it if you want it as your rules:)

6:05 Also keep in mind that mobile users will see squares instead of spaces. The only way I have found to add somewhat appealing spaces is with this symbol ︱ but between words its not so easy on the eye. On the permissions subject, Why would we add administrator privileges to bots? Is it not a risk if the bot token is accidentally leaked? I thought bots/members receive the highest permissions they are granted hence being able to be in multiple roles so no adjustment to permissions in the bot role should be required. Other than that, great video.
