Nice tutorial Michael. The lightning button to the right of the memory slots, when active, does the following: If the lower third isn't active (button right top of the lower third), it just automatically switches on the lower third whenever you click on a memoryslot that holds lower third info.
Great video. Tip regarding URL link. If you hold down Ctrl + Shift and right-click the file name you will see an option to "Copy Path". This will give you the full path including the file extension. You will have to remove the "quotes" when you paste the URL in the required field. I hope this helps
Cant get it to work under MAC even if I have the new version with the cutom dock alternative. My guess is that the file naming system in mac and windows are so different that the program can't read the URL. Anyone else got it to work under mac?
After some fidgeting I found that the way to find the correct URL to the local file is to double click the .html file and copy the URL from the now open browser. This made the program able to read the URL and launch the dock. Lets see if it works as intended. Good luck everyone
Another great tutorial! just FYI the new update breaks lower thirds. The fix is to uncheck the local file box and put the path in, as you explained, but with file:///c:\path to file.
I solved the problem by following advice given on OBS Forum, only thing it was the reverse of what was told me to enable, I had to disable instead. Turning off Browser Source Hardware Acceleration in the settings worked for me. I never would have thought about looking there for the answer. SOLVED!!
Thanks Michael , i try to teach one of my friend how to use Lower thirds just couldn't then we find you're video so simple and well explained thx again for sharing .
I have created completely custom lower thirds for OBS using motion functions plugin (or something like that) but it's a PITA to deal with two scenes per each lower third. I will have a look at this and see if I can possibly make them my own because it will simplify my thirds A LOT.
Got the solution here. When adding the browser source on your Sources, don't check the "local file". But, put the file destination like an HTML. Example (with "Local File" unchecked): C:\Users\yourusername\Downloads\Animated-Lower-Thirds_1.6\Animated-Lower-Thirds\lower thirds\browser-source.html Let me know if it works!
I added my Zoom interface to OBS as a camera in using another computer via HDMI capture card then stream to Facebook and back into the same Zoom meeting via virtual camera using this lower third feature and stinger transition. I spotlighted/pin active participants in fullscreen view. I like the this lower third that enhance my Zoom meetings.
great instructional on lower thirds.. i also found you can change the name of lower thirds to another name just by double-clicking "lower third 1 or 2 and rename it to your liking ... keep it going mike👍
@Michael i've been watching your videos to learn the obs since a long ago from Pakistan, but the thing what i dont like in you is , you are making thr things very critical، why dont you make it easy
I only make it asks difficult as it needs to be to explain how to do something. If something is complicated, it’s complicated. I do the best I can to make it as simple as possible.
that's perfect for me. i was looking for a simple customizable animated overlay... each ones i found were in english (im french) and were too heavy for the "simple" stream we want to make here! THANK YOU very much!
Thank you Brother. You are Right. Your videos are much precious, and many people also in my channels watching without subscribing. So, I have Subscribed. Thank you again
Greetings, excellent work with your videos. I am installing the program but my computer is Windows 11, apparently something is not the same since one of the boxes remains red. I could see that his browser is chrome and mine is saved in with in windows. Any suggestion?
First want to say thank you for all the videos that you make they help so much. I just want to know are you doing or have you done a update about using this lower third with OBS 30.2.3. Once I updated I can not use it anymore.
Hi Michael, I'm struggling with that. I've put 2 lower thirds in actions and they're not acting normal. Numbers get randomized and it's just a mess with the animation. I've tried several things, it's still a. Big mess. Would that be possible that that thing needs an update ? It's no script or plug-in so it's kinda weird. Maybe putting 6 logos and 12 sentences via 2 lower thirds on 1 source is heavy, idk, what do you think ?
Not only am I subscribed, I am a member! Your content has helped me up my production value to new heights I never thought possible! Keep up the amazing work and I hope to see you on one of my future Twitch streams one day to see the work you have taught me in action! :)
Home run, brother. Very good video. Would have been good to show how to move this over to a different computer when necessary though. Would suck to spend a bunch of time setting all this up and then have to redo it all when you get a brand new computer.
that's neat, i have been experimenting with CSS/HTML alerts to get the same effect except for alerts! pretty neat! i wonder if you could use a code in the fields to get a similar effectt
you probably forgot to say that the pictures must be added to the Logos folder before adding them to the Lower thirds. Thanks for the video anyway, it's very helpful
Hey Michael, thank you so much for this amazing tool that I can use for my church’s livestream. I do have a question: I followed every step and when I try to add the lower thirds, the 1st box is still showing red even though I turned on the main settings. Am I doing something wrong? Please help
Instead of Local files as he suggested in 2:50, try keeping it on URL instead. and click and open the Browser Source on your browser. copy and paste the Browser Source URL on to the OBS browser URL slot. I hope this helps. It helped me get rid of the red light but it still is not showing on my preview screen so I still need to sort that out
@@ohsosaucy Thanx, 1.6 update of lower third used in OBS 27.2 needs to have the URL Open the browser-source in a browser and copy the link. It should contain file:///{link}
Hi Michael, thanks for sharing your knowlege with us ! Your channel has been realy usefull for me. I would like to know the logo must have some especific size to work on this lower third! I've tried some but only one worked. Thanks, greetings from Brazil!
I enjoy your content and have used numerous tips and tricks you share. This the the crap part of the sandwich... please make a note when these tips won’t work on MAC. I spent way too long trying to figure that out. Keep up the good work.
Hi Michel. Thx for the video. I have a problem after the latest obs 27.2.1 64bit update. I can not see my lower thirds anymore. Docks look fine but nothing happens when I try to use them. I'm scratching my head here.
Thank you so much! A lot of videos I've watched on this have left out parts (i.e. graphic needs to be PNG, create a lower thirds source to play it) I followed directions closely and it works great! Can't wait to use this tool! Making up the ones I need for streaming AND my own manual of how-to's! Again, thank you!
To mean that this app can’t work if you haven’t installed graphics card on your machine. Because I keep trying and it’s not working could that the case
Hi Michael, Great tutorial video as usual. Really loved it. I tried it on my Mac but unfortunately it does not work. Returns error stating the URL cannot be found. Would appreciate your help. Thank you and keep up the good work.
I finally found the solution. Double click on the control-panel.html file and it will open in the default browser. Copy the URL from there and paste it in the View-->Docs-->Custom Browser Docs--> URL instead of typing the path. This is the work around for Mac. Hope it helps.
From my experience it doesn't work anymore. When I turned on main settings as well the lower thirds panel stayed red. Disappointed because this is an actual life saver of an asset
Hey Michael, thanks for another great video! Question: Is it possible to add / connect a lower third to a specific scene? I'd like to run the lower third automatically when I switch the camera to a person. Thanks Michael!
The easiest way to set this up is to create a lower third video that would play when you switch to the scene but doesn’t loop. Then it plays when you switch the lower third comes up and disappears and that’s it. You only see it if you leave the scene and come back.
what books do you recommend for a new guy needing live stream/podcast world IT tech knowledge??? I have my subject/plan to record. I just want to hear the tech language.
Great video, Michael, thanks for your amazing work. I'm just curious if the lower thirds can be placed anywhere on the screen or if there's limitations on this? For example, if I wanted to have my logo only (without text) in the upper right corner, does this tool allow for that? Thanks again and best wishes!
Hi Michael, I have not seen much info on this as it’s a fairly unique request but something I think is used by pros possibly. Something I’d expect more people to use in the future. Is it possible to do some research and a video on using an application like Spar AR or something similar to really up your camera game so that say someone like me who has very big bags under my eyes can hide such things using powerful filters and programs like spark AR. Strange request I know but I thought there would be more out then then just LUTs and colour corrections. AI now is really crazy now so having hectic filters on to smooth skins and improve how you appear would be awesome. Epically for a ugly mofo like me haha 😉. No worries if not a good request. Been really enjoying your videos mate. Cheers from down under
Hello Michael Feyrer Jr. and greetings from Germany, does Animated Lower Third still work in OBS version 28.1.2? I am a little bit afraid to make an update.
I'm a new subscriber (just subscribed). Sir, this video was amazing and so well put together. I'm the new IT team for my small little church and working on upgrading our streaming for 2022 to help spread the Gospel. I love God and I love video games so my church may be incorporating new & innovative elements from gaming streams into our service...church should be fun right. Anyway, thank you soo much. God Bless
Hi Michael...Thank you for the tutorial...These lower thirds are only for the left side of the screen ?.....is possible that the lower third origin could be originated from the right side of the screen ?....Thank you in advance.
Hey Michael... trying out the animated lower thirds, question: if I have say 5 popups in box 1 and 5 in box 2, how do you get them run in sequence? if click the on buttons at the same time, they both run and show two popups on the screen at the same time... thanks
Hi Michael, Thank you for the video and the awareness of this great tools. Please i need to understand why the tool is not working for obs 27.1.3 from the browser source Please correct me if am missing out any step
@@MichaelFeyrerJr plz, for me the Dock is on but the lower third tab is always turning red even after following the steps of removing and adding the smaller box and switching on/off the main and lower third top right icon. Plz help
Micheal a wonderful video. I was wondering if I could use this plugin for a 'now playing' feature if I have a constantly updating txt file and a jpg image
It appears I'm not the only one getting the Red Box of Death with Lower Thirds. Followed Step by Step. Still Red Box and will not display. Any tips or tricks to fix?
This was very helpful :) Thank you very much. With your help I might actually be able to multicast our charity bag sale on Black Friday on all our channels instead of just for our instagram followers.
OBS Doesn't stream to Instagram. I know there is a way to do it... But doing it that way is not approved by Instagram and could get you banned. Just be aware of the risks. until Instagram starts to freely share the stream key its safe to assume they don't want you using external software to do it.
Even if I turn the main switch on when I turn the first lower third section on it's still red and won't show within the browser source I added. I did everything exactly like you did idk what's going on
I did everything right until you turn it on. My number 1 box is still red. I turn on the Main setting and my number 1 box is still red. What am I not doing right. Thank you...
Hey awesome videos, just followed along, but no matter what I click, the outline stays red? any ideas hopefully you see this before the next question stream lol
