Only discovered your a channel a few days ago but I am absolutely loving your videos. Your playing style is right up my street. Amazing drum sounds and feel.
Man, your lessons are like a Crossfit version for drums learning! Every time I get something from your exercises I find myself acquiring 2 or 3 more techniques/rudiments. I don't know for the others but this "whole package" type of practice suits me better than the linear stuff. I'm not saying they are useless, but in the long term, a "project" vision is better than "minor multiple tasks" vision in my humble opinion. Ok, now I've got this to master for the next weeks! Cheers and thanks again Jeff!
I finally found gold. Mate, I thought I've seem em all on most if not all major RU-vid drum channels, and was getting a little bored with the same approach in teaching... your style is straight up, no nonsense to the point.... with musicality and finesse.
Thanks for putting out such great lessons!! I am so tired of all those flashy linear sextuplet fills tutorials and your videos really focus on groove. Man, there is so much stuff to learn from vour videos, I wish I had more time, since my two kids are keeping me busy 24/7 atm, since all the kindergardens are closed. I just want to practice, ahhh! 😬
I, along with others here have just discovered your channel. All I can say is, what a discovery! Your technique and feel are wonderful to watch and groove with. Very informative, very friendly, and very skilled! Here's to another loyal follower added to your list!
Great stuff! Really helped me! I like to play eight notes on the hihat/bel/effect cymbal with those grooves. Can be a bit challenging because you work on independance as well.
Hey any chance you could do a lesson on sweeping counter clockwise across your toms? Alot of players sweep clockwise, but Danny Carey sweeps counter clockwise. Just wondering if you haf a lesson on that?
Allo Jeff, I really appreciate your videos you are very inspiring. I have a question please about your Scarlett 18i20, do you experience latency while tracking? How do you overcome this problem? Thanks a lot Joann Blondin Music teacher, drummer Montreal
Hey Joann, I'm LOVING that Scarlett. I haven't experienced anything bad with latency. It's been good all-around. You can adjust the buffer size and sample rate of your recordings in your DAW though, which will help that latency if you're having an issue.
