Think you tutorials are wonderful! I would suggest you show what the completed project would look like upon completion after the project or tutorial description.
Thanks MD! I will have a new tutorial this week. I typically upload every 2 weeks as my tutorials are in depth and require more planning. I am glad you are enjoying and learning!
@@AngeloMontilla thank for replaying. i had so much searching in vedios but never got this types of vedios like yours. keep going brother. we will be with you.
Thanks Meryem! I am glad you find them helpful! I just launched a full course - and working on another now - if you're considering expanding on these tutorials! montilladesign.com/courses
Just to help you out fella - you can increase your pasteboard area - under preferences - you have to option to increase width and height of your pasteboard - this would negate the issues you’re having with resizing your scroll panel objects (watches) and help speed up potential workflow bottlenecks c
Hi Angelo, My question is.. Is there any way to resize (make it smaller) and adjust the placement of the scrolling indicator once or when you enable it?
Hi, Thank you for the pleasant and informative tutorials. Please advise, I’ve created in Interactive PDF portfolio following this tutorial. I have buttons which change the text description and the image only to realise that when exporting as an Interactive PDF, the links to ‘next page’ work, but none of the buttons for the gallery work. It works in the EPUB preview only. Is there a way to make this work for the I/PDF?
Hi Fatima! As I have told other viewers, these types of projects will not work for PDF Interactive. The only thing I would ever use PDF Interactive for these days are for simple navigation, hyperlinking, fillable forms, etc. Animation, Object States and Media will not work for PDF any more because it is flash based and those are HTML interactivities. I hope this helps and you can find a solution. All the best.
Your tutorials are so great and easy to follow. Thank you for doing this. I have a quick question: when you set up the button on each watch with [normal, roll over (larger size a bit) and then click] , is there a function in Indesign that allow you to copy this setup and apply it to the rest? Thanks!
Hi Nga! You can set up an Object Style and apply that style to the Rollover. For example, create a Rollover version of the button style on your page and then add the Object style and call it Rollover Style. When you apply the Rollover Appearance in Buttons and Forms, go to the Object Styles and apply the Rollover Style. This is the easiest way rather than having to repeat the same process over and over. Hope that helps!
@@AngeloMontilla Hi, it's me again. I followed your tutorial steps by steps but when I exported as Interactive PDF the "go the state" buttons didn't work (when i tested it in EPUB, it worked). Does this mean it only works when I publish it online and not as PDF?
This is awesome. Is it possible to use this format as a pdf? I wanted to use this format as a portfolio and job sites require a pdf so can I convert this document into a pdf to share?
I follow your channel and I like your content. I wanted to ask you, are you Italian? I would like to see some of your content in my language, subtitled
Hello Angelo, I can't seem to create a multi-state object within a state? Let's say the watch is available in different colours and I want to showcase that.
Hello Angelo, I want to do an epub with an interactive scrolling frame, as you did in “create a mobile catalogue with interaction, scrolling frames”. In the video after grouping the whole layout and inserting them in the frame, all the interactive buttons still work. But in this video, you point out that the interactivity is lost while grouping so you have to do it after you insert it in the frame. Why doesn’t it work in this video and in the other it does?
Hey Paula! Sorry if you didn't understand. It will work in the scroll frame. The point I was trying to make is that you should add the actions to the buttons after you've grouped the objects and pasted into the frame. If you spend time adding button actions beforehand then group all the contents, you'll have to repeat the process of adding actions again when you paste in the frame. I just want to make sure people don't waste valuable time repeating button actions when it's not necessary. Especially on tight deadlines! :) All the best.
This is so great. Is there a way of creating scrolling frames without in5? I've tried using Overlays but nothing seems to happen when I preview it using the EPUB window, or when I publish online...
Hi Sophie. It's a great question. As far as I know, in5's extension is the only way to create the scrolling frames. Yes, Overlays has the option but it hasn't worked since InDesign stopped supporting its DPS platform years ago.
Halo Mr. Angelo I am one of your followers on RU-vid and benefited a lot from you. I have a question. I want to export an interactive file from the InDesign program that works on WhatsApp, if possible. Thank you.
Do you mean a file you can share via WhatsApp or a document that works in the WhatsApp program? I don't use WhatsApp, but you can certainly share an ePub (Fixed Layout) document to someone. This project won't work for PDF Interactive. Hope that helps.
First, thanks for the quick reply.. I want to export the file to WhatsApp, so that many followers can watch it via their mobile phones. I can create a file pop-up and export it on the desktop, but when I want to transfer it to WhatsApp, it does not work.. What is the way for the work to be effective? Thanks again.
This is a great tutorial. For some reason every time I download the in5 plugin and then click in the menu for scrollable frames it gives me a prompt window that says "Scrollable frames is a separate install. Get Scrollable frames now" but then it won't let me click so after creating everything for desktop publishing, I can't get the scrolling frames to work =(
Hi Justin. It is a separate install. Sign up for the newsletter and in turn they will send you the scrolling frames extension. Be sure you're working on either Id 2023 or 2024 when you install the extension with the instructions included.
Hi Angelo, Question: What is an easy way to change one of those Watch images in the scroll frame AFTER you have finished the page? You have multiple states, and just finding it and changing it in the Layers panel will leave the Rollover and Click states with the old images? Is there an easy way to do this?
Hi Wilmark. Use the Links panel. Right-click the image and then choose Relink. If there is more than one instance, Relink All Instances. Choose the image and replace it.
Can you please tell me if there is a way to remove the weird color we get in fillable form fields after we export them to pdf? I have watched almost all of your tutorials but didn't find a solution to this problem.
Hey Zaitoon. How are you setting up your text fields? In InDesign, draw a text frame and the in the button and forms panel, instead of button set it as a text field. Down below you can set the pt size and typeface of your choice. Export as PDF Interactive and test it out.
Hey there! No, you can not change the domain when you use the Publish Online feature. However, you can export the HTML from InDesign. Go to File > Export > HTML. This will export the HTML, js and images from the document, however it doesn't preserve the layout all together. This method doesn't produce clean HTML and js on export. You're going to need some help from a developer to get it on your own site looking exactly how it does in InDesign.
Hey there. Three options: 1. Publish Online to a URL that lives on an Adobe-hosted server but can be shared and embedded to other platforms. 2. EPub (Fixed Layout) to view in an e-reader such as Apple Books (Mac) or Calibre (Windows). 3. Export it as HTML by going to File > Export and then choosing HTML. This packages the HTML, js and images which you can share with a developer to help you host on your own site.
angelo great work as usual, but there's one problem with this interactive (pdf) work, as it must be open with only adobe acrobat reader and this is big problem, because if the user doesn't know this info our hard work is usles so what shall you do in this situation
Hey there! I never recommend doing a project like this for PDF interactive. It won't work. The only time I'll ever use Interactive PDF anymore is for simple hyperlink, bookmarks and navigating through a document. Object States and Animation aren't supported for PDF. Try exporting for EPub and view in an E-Reader like Apple Books. Thanks!
I hope you are doing well. I just need help. I want to publish this scrolling document online but it gives this error. Can you please help me what should I do now it's very urgent. Thank you in advance
@@graphicdesigning1977 Try downloading the newest version of the Scrolling Frame. The 2022 plug-in won't be supported in 2023: ajarproductions.com/blog/2015/12/08/universal-scrolling-frames-for-indesign/
To an Adobe-hosted URL. However, you can share the link or embed it to another site with an html code. I cover how to do this in many of my other videos. Thanks!
Hey Andria! You'd have to go to File > Export and select PDF (Interactive). Just be aware that with Flash being phased out, much of the interactivity won't work. Also Object States isn't supported for PDF. Best of luck!
@@crztyle Not for PDF, but for EPub or Publish Online. Here's a tutorial for a mobile catalogue that I exported for EPub and viewed in Apple Books: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-a922HhuC14A.html
Hi there. You can embed the project right into your website, however if you wanted to host entire project, you can File > Export > Export HTML. Keep in mind this option goes not keep the geometry of the layout. It generally just saves all the assets (text + graphics). From there you can use a program like Dreamweaver or hand assets to a developer to put together. It's a little more complex, but that is how you'd have to self-host.
