Thanks for providing this info-helps a lot. If you use the placement lines, which may be inside the coverstitch, how do you ensure the cut piece will edge will be under the coverstitch?

I wouldn't do this for batting. This is to precut applique fabric on a sticky mat in the ScanNCut. I wouldn't put batting on my sticky mat. What a mess! ha ha I'd trim the batting the hoop like the instructions say to.
