If you read the about section, these exercises are intended to help you become familiar with Autodesk Fusion 360 through repetition. These models are not always exact but, are measured for approximation. They also may not always be real word examples, but a guide in software use. When attempting to reproduce models for 3D printing, be sure to verify your own real world measurements for authenticity.

I appreciate the clarity you give especially compared to so many other tutorials. Your tutorial was clear and gave me exactly what I needed. Thank you Most tutorials only gave an explanation for methods to create a gear that I struggled to put to use.

Outstanding, this was a very important component in our building of motor cars when we were younger in the early 80’s. The genius of us, the science and engineering that we we’re being exposed to without the complete influence of tv or social media..

Lol, I thought you said “effin’ gears”. 😆 I like these gear plugins. Another one is GF Gear Generator which allows for helical and double-helical (herringbone) gears.

Hello brother Thank you so much for efforts to teach us. Brother could you please make video series for surface modeling?

Your videos are outstanding with very relevant content! Could you ever do any videos on 4-6 bar hinges, I always just stop and watch them in slow motion. Those and convertible top mechanisms, It blows my mind to see them on old cars created long before the help of computers! Thanks again for your videos!

Another good video CJ. Just have a couple of points. When you animate the two gears, the teeth overlap, then after rotating they mesh correctly ??? I found I had to rotate one gear by 5.6 degrees to align them. Nothing mentioned in the video. Secondly, how to I get to animate the gears upon completion of the exercise? Also can the speed of the gears be reduced ?

Roger, I purposefully left that part out so individuals can figure some things out through deductive reasoning. Also, you cannot slow down the animation Without going to the animation tab, you can animate the gears after creating motion links by right clicking any joint and selecting "Animate joint relationships". If you want to create a slower animation you will need to go into the animation tab to do so.

quick question, how do you mesh the gear teeth?
@CADJungle

This is something you will need to manually perform ratios. Using the joint command you can test your setup by doing so. This is a good idea for a video I can create in the future.
