Dawn, I loved watching this I learned so much. Thank you so much. And it was so refreshing to watch a video that was not in fast mood. And I have to tell you something I love your ring it is beautiful it is beautiful blue. I just had to tell you just awesome. And the video was awesome to
Love this idea. I have a few sea sponges and I even know where they are! And now I need this die. I love the touch of embossing glaze. And what a great idea to add just bits of embossing.
Dawn it is so wonderful to see how far you have come from when I first met you. I met you at a ‘make & take’ in Florida (around Jacksonville area about 18 years ago, haven’t lived there for over 9 years now since I moved to Costa Rica) and you had just come out with your first couple of stamp sets (which I still have and use in my stash ). I was so impressed and in awe of you then as I am now. Your videos are fabulous as is your presentation. Beautiful card and technique! ❤
Wow Dawn I totally love this card and would love to see how you did everything on this card, including the assembly! Awesome job! What a masterful piece of art!
This is a totally different way of making 'grunge' that I have done...a lot better and more real. I love it and cannot wait to follow your instructions!
?QUESTION? Well done, mam🥰Wet on Wet blends and wet on dry layers, thank you for simply helping it stick to my brain. Your tutorial is well worth anyone's time packed with many techniques! Then you went and inserted some genuine product that is a must have that literally will cost pennies and I was dreading it was going to be another gadget that I am not willing to splurge on, Thank you for this, I did giggle, too sweet.and I had no idea how much I needed, where have I been! Great delivery, are you a teacher or what is your trade? Best way I have seen this technique achieved. I know my mom would cherish this and one of my sister, who keeps all of my cards.
I have said it before, but need to do it again; you are a FAN.TAS.TIC teacher. And designer and carmaker - thats a given 😊😊 Thank you so much for teaching us. Brilliant Dawn ❤
This is one of the best videos I have watched and I've watched it several times. I did get the wheelbarrow die set and used this technique on it and I loved it! Finally have this featured set and today is the day to work with that one. Thank you so much! I can see why you and Kelly are good friends! It took me a while to find the Dawn she kept referring to! Glad I kept trying! thank you so much!
This video is my go to video! Dawn, you are a fantastic teacher, you explain everything so clearly and you make is so easy for me. Thank you for taking the time and teaching us!
I love this!!!! I have quite a few ‘container’ dies that would look awesome with distress. I was wondering how to do it and how to get those parts to look less flat. Now I know ❤. Thank you Dawn. I love your channel 🙌
Beautiful. I was surprised that you stated distress ink is embossable. Most videos I watch don't know that. I appreciate a person who knows the product they use. Thanks.
Love, love, love your techniques! I don’t think Tim holds holds a candle to what you showed us today. What I like best is that not only does it show that it’s old but it reminds us that old is not necessarily bad that it still holds it’s worth. Thank you so much for sharing. This is next on my list.
Wash your sea sponge with orange clean…it may need a bit of a soak but orange clean will take dried acrylic paint out of pretty much anything, brushes too😉 You are indeed an incredible teacher Dawn ..you blew me away WOW! 👏👏👏👏👏🤗💕💕
Love this and think it's amazing! The grunge look you created is perfect, not too grungy! 🥰Using older supplies with my newer ones is my favorite way to create! Thank you!
I LOVE this BEAUTY! I seriously think every single step was genius upon skill upon talent to create a masterpiece. Absolutely loved every bit of your technique! You are a true teacher at heart. (Not sure if you have a day job, but I’m sure you’d be a natural!). And I think I might actually remember that wet on wet blends and wet on try creates layers. THANK YOU! Just brilliant. 😊♥️😊
Thank you so much! I’ve never taught. But large social situations or being in front of people makes me anxious. So being able to focus on a task or teach a task really helps me, maybe that is why?
@@dawnwoleslagle9561-I love to watch you watercolor! You make it look easy, though my efforts seem lacking. Thanks again for your teaching tips and inspiration.
I just happen to have several sea sponges in various sizes and "shapes"! I used them when faux painting "textured" walls were in style. I LOVED the look of sponged walls and this brings those memories back. Moving your wrist with the sponge to avoid the same "sponge design" is a major factor (especially on walls/lol)!!! I'm so impressed you thought to use a sea sponge to get the texture on the barrel, wheels, rings, etc. This is another "Duh" moment for me!!! Watching you "sponge/texture" those rings, barrels, etc. makes me angry (at myself) because I've never once thought to dig those sponges out and use them for crafting!!! Way to be creative!! Everything looks fantastic! TFS an incredibly great idea!
First time I watched you… Wow what a beautiful gorgeous card…just stunning. You knocked it out of the park. I will be watching you again….I subscribed…don’t want to miss anything. 👏👍
Hi Dawn. This card is sensational, and might even be the answer to below LOL. I’m curious and decided to start asking those I follow the same question. What is the most over-the-top card you’ve ever done? Would you be willing to show and share it? It’s okay to say no, but I’m hoping to see some super cool creations.
Wow!! To the stunning card and wow!! To the rust technique! Would have loved to see the making of the whole card from start to finish. Thanks for sharing 👍❤️🙏🇦🇺
I just purchased a package of sea sponges at Hobby Lobby for another technique using acrylic paints for a journal cover so now I have another use. This technique you have shared with us is totally awesome. Seems so much easier than others I have seen. Thanks! Can’t wait to try it!!!
As I am German and English is not my mother tongue, can someone please tell me what kind of special tool this talented lady is using? It is some kind of sponge? What kind? Thank you so much for helping me out on this one! Crafty hugs from Carmen, 63 years old
@@dawnwoleslagle9561 I am sure you have mentioned it, but perhaps I didn’t hear it correctly as English is a learned language for me and does not come naturally. Thank you so much for helping me out on this! I will now have to buy a sea sponge
What a beautiful card! Love the die set. Thanks for the technique in creating the barrel and wagon wheel. I’ve used sea sponges in decorative painting from time to time. Love them!
Fabulous, I am a new subscriber. I love your tips on blending ink colors, and I too have a sea sponge I have had sense the 1980’s. It truly is a work horse. I am liking what I see. And hear, don’t have to have it all use what you have.
This is amazing and beautiful. Love the techniques. I've passed this video off to some friends as they love techniques like these. Thank you sooo much for sharing.
Beautiful work! I will have to look for my sea sponge. When I have tiny pieces to color, I turn a piece of low tack tape sticky side up to hold them in place.
This is awesome. I love a grungy, rusty, vintage look. I just had to order this die set. I can't wait to get it and try this technique. I got to find a sea sponge though.
That card is glorious Dawn and I can remember seeing you use a sea sponge like this before and getting such a fab textured effect. It really looks rusty😲🙌 Love it!
