It’s worth being clear about the difference between QEMU and KVM. QEMU is a whole framework for emulating different kinds of CPU architectures in software. For example, you can boot up a virtual ARM or RISC-V machine even if your actual PC architecture is something completely different. It may not be as fast as real hardware, but it will work. KVM, on the other hand, is the Linux kernel architecture for taking advantage of your CPU’s virtualization capabilities. So for example if you are running on an x86 processor, you don’t need to use QEMU’s software implementation of x86, instead you can tell it to call into KVM to create a much faster virtual machine running on your actual hardware.

you didnt need reboot - usermod -G happens for NEW sessions . so a new terminal would of worked. For virt-manager a relogin would of been enough

You din't need to reboot the whole box - a mere re-login would've supplied your user's session with the recent changes in group memberships.

I've gotten to where I just reboot now thanks to SSD speed. It's just a few seconds and it clears everything up. The old days of waiting almost two minutes for shutdown and restart is gone. It's not really necessary but it's only a few more seconds.

Disconnecting the internet is not required to make a local account on 20h2, infact you can now make a local account even if you choose the "personal account" on the bottom left

Having weird issues with my first Ubuntu install blue screen on vm install. First 2 lines of code fixed my issues with an Ubuntu with a Win 10 kvm install. Kvm-ok boom could have saved an hour.

Yes it's fully working Their are projects on GitHub like Macos-simple kvm I had succes running it even on Google cloud ubuntu vm. Nested vm If you have some gpu you can even passthrough it and have very good experience

I must have VM with bridged network for a Windows proxy server.. and must run the VM in a Seamless Mode on three monitors. Not sure if seamless is possible on QEMU virt-manager.. ? Anyone been able to run a QEMU guest in seamless like can be done on VirtualBox ? Does it need Spice to achieve it ?

Ah. They're arm specific operating systems. There is a version of raspbian that runs on x86 architecture.

Seriously stop with the sponsor adds as they are annoying and unnecessary not to mention go on for too long!!... I'm seeing many RU-vidrs now starting to do this but happy to use free software and yet never encourage people to donate to the developers. But here you are promoting paid products from sponsors for your own benefit. If you want to do this then move to an operating system you have to pay for because there is a lot of hypocrisy in what you are doing. A better way to help your sponsors would simply be to mention them in the description area instead of forcing us to watch them or make us waste our time fast forwarding past it.
