Ok, this is brilliant. I did something similar to this for sea form using the cell effect years ago, but I've forgot EXACTLY how I did it. But this method has soooo much more control and creative freedom to it. Brilliantly done.
.... you know I have been trying (and failing) to achieve almost this exact thing recently, and you've just gone and simplified all my efforts... I don't know whether to cry or say thank you. I think it would be healthier to just say THANK YOU! This is so incredibly helpful and bless you for sharing! I would never have thought of this approach! Later is better than never I guess.
I think you just saved my thesis!! Im doing a ruff 2D animation, and there is a scene where I need this kind of animation about water!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH! love to u!!!
This tutorial is so amazing!! I used a modified version for a water modeling effect for my class film this year at SVA :) thank you for the delicious compositing tips ❤
You are awesome ..! such a great tutorial for us... learned something great from you.. hoping for more great tutorials for us in future... lots of love 😍❤️🤩🤩
Good question! This was done just using the displacement map effect, using the radio waves to create concentric circles growing outwards. You can follow pretty much the same technique at the latter half of the tutorial, and just apply the displacement map filter to the text. :) I think I added some white lines to add a bit of detail too.
You duplicated the comp and delete the inside, but will it effect on the other comp? because as i know, 2 comps are one, they just are copies of another but still linked together.
Copy and paste the comp and rename it at the project panel rather than timeline panel. Besides, he just deleted some layers rather than comps inside, that will be fine : ) Sorry for my bad English
@@StephenElliget Yeeeyyy!!! It worked! Thank you!!! 🤩🤩🤩 Now, I followed the next step, higlight the two and then right click, but the thing is: the Copy Expression Only is grayed, I cant click it.
I do love this tutorial. I really wish you continue making such AE stuffs this quality. I discover you in Instagram where i follow JakeInMotion and he likes your work. Thank you
