For those that are curious how the whole "improving/worsening weather" thing works: In the midlatitudes, winds aloft (~15,000' to 30,000') are almost always Westerly (out of the West). A Northerly wind at the surface (in the Northern hemisphere) implies cold air advection, which implies increasing surface pressure, which implies fair weather. Looking up with your back to the North, the clouds appear to track right to left. A Southerly wind at the surface (in the Northern hemisphere) implies warm air advection -> decreasing surface pressure -> developing storm. Looking up with your back to the South, clouds appear to track left to right. Obviously it's not a perfect method, but it does have some validity to it! SOURCE: Am a meteorologist.

I live in BC Canada. We can get snow. Years ago I was out sledding (snowmobiling) with my son. Up on one of the mountains, just below the tree line, I came into a meadow and had to stop. It was a nice day. What I saw was amazing. A meadow of leaves of frost standing on edge. Some as big as my handle. Very fragile. The area was covered with these. I only ever saw this once. Amazing.

That's what's funny with the weather in Britain. We love to complain about it. We also can't cope with it seems yet nothing extremely bad ever happens here compared with many other countries with tsunamis, earthquakes, volcanoes, monsoons, blizzards ect ect. The ice you saw there in Canada would close the UK down until it melted even if that ice was about 2-3 millimeters thick 😂 Here in the UK, our weather is just very interchangeable but never extreme. I would love to go to Canada, Poland, Russia and parts of America in the future to see what real snow and ice looks like 😆

When locals say worst it refers to is the apparent quick changes in the weather as u go up or down in elevation.. It is very true for hikers that choose to summit it at the most unpredictable times of the year. By sept u may fiind a 20 degree change in temp from the base to the summit.. Both times i went up in Summer. i needed a heavy sweatshirt over my t-shirt by the time i got to the summit. there was a stiff breeze when i got into the open on a clear day..

65 mph is just at the threshold of hurricane force winds. 30 meters per second. Your little demonstration shed was neither anchored nor nailed/screwed together. OF COURSE it's going to fly. I've seen sheds like it sustain hurricane winds before. What really matters is how turbulent the air is. That is, the building is heaving and swinging until it suddenly cracks loose.

I have a question, mt washington is the windiest place on earth right?? And the reason is because the wind passing through the mountain gets faster when the troposphere gets narrower right?? So if the mountain gets higher then the gap between the troposphere is narrower then why mt everest is not the windiest place on earth?. (If there ary any errors from my comment I'm sorry my english is terrible please forgive me)
