As someone new to UE this video was super helpful to understand what the minimum for a project is. After watching the video, I realized you can just create a new level (ctrl + n), then select basic, and it will essentially do all of this for ya!
Very glad you made this video. Most "basic" unreal tutorials assume you already have knowledge on how to do this stuff. This video is needed for ABSOLUTE beginners that don't know anything.
Everyone shows a tutorial on how to BUILD a level but if someone needs to create a blank level there is no such thing! Except for your video... Thanks!
Exactly what I needed. Coming from Unity, the default leve that got generated was a little confusing and intimidating. This was exactly what I needed. Thank you!
I've been using Unity for 8 years though work, and I'm switching over to using Unreal while trying to find a new job. I needed this tutorial. Unity does a pretty good job at giving you at least something in a blank scene, but this was BLANK-blank, so I was caught out like a deer in the headlights.
If you want to rapidly build a lighting solution: TOP LEFT: Window>Env. Light Mixer> Choose how in depth you want (Minimal, Normal, Normal+Advanced) then adjust settings as desired.
OMG thank you. so helpful. this was driving me crazy trying to figure out. the starting scene says, "blank" but it's not really. thank you for your guidance!
Is there any reason to create a blank level when there's an option to create a black open world? The blank open world is EXACTLY the same as a blank level only much larger.
