Thanks so much for the free template. One of the things I love about it is that I can click on the cells and learn a lot of functions, like the "OVER" and "UNDER" one. Loving this NEW series on a whole, thanks for sharing with us.🤗
Last year I taught 2nd and my room was a “blank canvas”. A co- worker suggested I ask parents for donations of games for indoor recess. Many were happy to clean out closets and sent in some gently used games and some even purchased new items. The best part was that many students were familiar with the games so they could just play!
Thank you for putting in the time to make and share this template! I just set mine up so I can track my different county/PTA/State funds accordingly. I love your channel and am loving seeing you fall back in love with teaching. I am coming back after 6 months on maternity and I am so excited to return. A few years ago, I was home for the 21-22 school year with my now 3 year old and I had the same feeling of eagerness to return. Being away for a while helps to reignite the passion. I'm working on this year trying to have a good work life balance. I can't wait to see how your year unfolds. Thank you for taking us along for the ride!
Love your channel! I have been watching you for years. This is difficult for me to tell you. I am not a fan of the Amazon *Wish List* By calling out the names of the followers who send you gifts, you are rewarding them and more will do the same. Just like we do in the classroom. Not all, but many of these subscribers may be the working poor and look forward to hearing their name mentioned in your videos. I thought maybe you stopped doing your mail day vlogs years ago for that reason. I loved watching those vlogs but often wonder about those sending you packages. I am sure there are numerous viewers who can well afford sending you items. Most of your viewers must be teachers like me. I cannot afford some of the items for myself, let alone for someone else. I don't mean to be a Debbie downer. I get it. I am a teacher; it's just my view! I cannot wait to watch you back in your classroom. I am so happy for you! You are a gifted teacher. Thanks for sharing your ideas on RU-vid! I like your positive outlook!
I am a”veteran” teacher of 20 plus years and I have tried to create a budgeting tool on my own when I became a librarian. This tool is so much better than anything I could have created. You always know what I need, when I need it. Thank you so very much, Michelle.
I have been with you from the start! I used to wake up at 6am on Sunday for your videos! I'm soooo happy your back in the classroom. I'm an administrator now and not in the classroom but I learn so much from you! Question, have you ever thought about being an instructional coach?
Thank you so much for sharing the template!! I’m already plugging away some numbers since I’ve made purchases for the start of school as well (we start after Labour Day) :). This is so useful!!
Happy Tuesday, Michelle! I enjoyed learning about the process you used to create your budget. As teachers, I think it is very helpful to create a budget and prioritize and the most important items for our classroom. It has been fun seeing the supplies you have gotten so far and how you plan to use them in the classroom. I hope are having a great week! 💜
I am a middle school (8th grade) math teacher and you have taught me so much in such a pleasant, direct way! I have to chuckle at how excited I get when I see there is a new vlog and am anticipating they will slow down once you start the school year. It's like seeing a friend and getting to visit for a little bit. You are an inspiration and a joy! THANK YOU!
Love this series and it is so smart to have a budget because goodness knows money gets spent left and right and before you know it you have already gone over budget and have to still get 90% of the necessary items! Love that your curriculum for science is McGraw Hill based. I love their stuff for math and use them for when I do my virtual math tutoring!
Hi Michelle! I’m obsessed with this budget tracker! It got me thinking - do you have a google sheets grade book by chance? That would be a game changer lol
So much to unpack in this video! I know you won’t find this surprising, but I have the exact same train of thought as you when I go to a new place! The template looks awesome! It’s a little soon for me to think about back to school 😂 as I have only been on vacation for three weeks, but I can’t wait to see you set up your classroom! I hope you do a video at some point on school snacks and lunches! I always need new ideas! Loved the surprise of waking up to one of your videos!
Michelle I would love a video of how you organise all your files even person, do you use your Mac documents or do you store everything on Google drive? Also how do you organise your pictures? Do you have a backup in place, do you ever use iCloud? Would love to see this, thanks for all your videos and good luck with teaching again! ❤
When I see a sloth item at a store I have flashbacks to when your followers used to send you mail 💌 i have a feeling your Amazon list is about to be cleared. You love gift giving/receiving and your followers love you.
I'm stepping into the department chair role this upcoming year, and you reminded me that I need to draft a budget spreadsheet so I don't have to worry about that before our return. 😅
Luckily I have been teaching awhile and don't need a ton of stuff, but I do put up a giving tree for open houses parents can donate items if they choose. II'm finding Amazon does not always have the best prices. Doesn't your school have a laminator teachers can use?
I saw a video where car mechanics put nails in tires so you have to pay more money at the shop. I’m not sure how true that is but nails have shown up on my friends car at her car shop without her tire being flat!
Michelle, I am considering switching my 1st grade classroom from a hanging folder, file cabinet system, to a binder system. I would love to grab a binder and have everything I need for week 1 all right there. Thoughts? Are there pros and cons you can think of?
Hi Michelle, In your latest video, you show and talk about your classroom budget, and I have a few questions about it. I am a vocational teacher and educate adult students who are training to become assistant nurses. All schools in Sweden are free for students, regardless of whether it is a public or private school, so it is very interesting to learn more about how the American school system is structured. Back to your budget: Are you allocated a sum of money from the school to use for what you need to teach, or are you personally covering these costs? 😬 I really hope that you are allocated the funds. Best regards Eva Oh, now you’re explaining that teachers spend their own money but there’s no requirement, if I understood correctly. So, in other words, I sent my question a bit too quickly…
