I would personally run the All Star Race after the Coke 600, that way teams won't treat it as a testing session for the 600, and there will actually be a race for the million. Other than that, this seems like a good schedule to shake things up.

I believe NASCAR should renovate Piles Peak International Raceway and use it some time again or North Wilkesboro Speedway for an old track maybe even go back to Japan

RealRadman I really like your thought process on making a custom 2021 Cup Series Schedule, with having 3 different style racetracks every 3 races. NASCAR needs to look into doing that, because like you said yourself, some races become stale when you go to the same style of racetrack week to week to week. I wonder when 2021 comes around if the schedule will look anything like yours. You honestly do a better job than NASCAR does most of the time. 👏✌🏁

I like the tracks but spread the type of tracks evenly. You begin the schedule with all the 1.5 tracks but end it with only 2 tracks over a mile long in the last 10 races. I don’t like back to back 1.5 mile, 2 mile, and restrictor plate tracks unless it’s short tracks. Put Talladega back in the Chase format and where is Darlington as the 25th race.

I like a lot of these ideas. I'd like to see more short tracks, which you provided. I'd also like more road courses, maybe even a street course, provided it was wide enough. Mid-Ohio, CotA, Sebring. These would be fun.

To be fair I dont think these old tracks you mentioned need THAT much renovation other than track condition and grand stand safety. Not like Nascar holds that much of an attendence anymore :( This isn't 2006 sadly. The last couple races I watched, the fans were just scattered around in seperated tiny splotches.

+RealRadman Changing the schedule would be cool, but something that could really happen is double race weekends. You could either have more races on the schedule and visit more tracks because now more weekends are open for tracks that can only support a single race weekend or have less weekends on the schedule and as a result have more breaks during the season. But here is my new, exciting schedule with no Playoffs or Chase with the same amount of weekends as currently constructed: 1. Daytona 500 2 and 3. Atlanta (2 400 Mile Races instead of 1 500 Mile Race) (First Double Race Weekend) 4. Las Vegas 5. ISM 6 and 7. Auto Club (2 400 Mile Races) (Second Double Race Weekend) 7. Sonoma 8. Texas 9 and 10. Kansas (2 400 Mile Races) (Third Double Race Weekend) (Friday Night/Sunday Afternoon) 11. Barber Motorsports Park 12. Rockingham 13 and 14. Martinsville (2 500 Lap Races) (Fourth Double Race Weekend) (Saturday Night/Sunday Night) 15. Richmond All Star Race 16. Charlotte (Coke 600) 17. Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix (Steal One Race from Indy Car during that weekend) 18. Michigan 19 and 20. Iowa (2 400 Lap Races) (Fifth Double Race Weekend) 21. Road America 22. Chicagoland 23. Daytona (Coke Zero 400) 24 and 25. Kentucky (2 400 Mile Races) (Sixth Double Race Weekend) 26. Bristol Night Race 27. New Hampshire 28. Pocono 29. Watkins Glen 30 and 31. South Boston (2 300 Lap Races) (Seventh Double Race Weekend) 32. Dover 33. Darlington (Southern 500) 34. Indianapolis (Rotates each year to be either the oval or road course) 35 and 36. Pikes Peak (Double Race Weekend) (Eighth Double Race Weekend) 37. Laguna Seca 38. Las Vegas 39. ISM 40. Eldora 41 and 42. Talladega (2 400 Mile Races) (Ninth Double Race Weekend) 43. I agree with everything said. Great schedule. If i can add though, I would try to bring back the Milwaukee Mile, Rockingham, and/or North Wilksboro short tracks. They would need renovating of course, but it would be great to see those races back on the schedule. I would go back to the 2004- 2007ish age of the Chase for the Cup, except have the points carry over from previous races. (So essentially just eliminating all but the top 12 drivers). This current points standings is based more on luck than skills, and is way to gimmicky.

This seems like a much better schedule. I would love to see them throw a dirt track to really throw things for a loop. Eldora or the dirt track at Charlotte would both be great. I'm not saying make it a playoff race (though i would really like that) but Nascar started with dirt i think we should pay homage to it once a year.

If the agreement weren't in place: 1. Daytona 500 2. Laguna Seca (I mean, it would be cool to see NASCAR go through the Corkscrew.) 3. Auto Club Speedway Sports Car Course (teams would have to decide if they want more speed through the oval section or the infield section, and that would be cool [especially since I've driven it on a couple racing games/sims, and it's a good layout]) 4. Pacific Raceways (my home track, and NASCAR needs a race in the Pacific NW [it would need upgrading, but there's potential there], plus, it's in our rainy season here in Seattle, so there's that) 5. Heartland Park Topeka (a blast from the past for Trucks, as it hosted races from 1995-1999) 6. COTA (unfortunately, it may force Eddie Gossage to drop NASCAR [TMS has a regional protection clause in their contracts with both IndyCar and NASCAR], but I think it would be interesting.) 7. Barber Motorsports Park (It may have been created for motorcycles, but IndyCar has proven year after year that it can work on four wheels) 8. Bristol 9. Lime Rock (Just me? Okay....) 10. Talladega 11. Dover 12. Kansas All-Star Race 13. Coca-Cola 600 14. Michigan 15. Pocono 16. Iowa RC (I mean, a 1.3 mile road course, laid out in a .875 mile oval...just think of that.... Wait, search "Rolex Sports Car Series Iowa". You'll thank me later.) 17. Chicagoland 18. Coke Zero Sugar 400 (This time, on the 24 Hour course. [Might happen, you never know. After Jeff Gordon won last year, there was talk about moving one of NASCAR's dates at "The World Center of Racing" to the road course.]) 19. Loudon 20. Kentucky 21. Indy (In 2 segments, one on the oval, one on the road course.) 22. New Jersey Motorsports Park Thunderbolt Circuit 23. Watkins Glen (with The Boot) 24. Bristol 25. Southern 500 26. Road Atlanta. 27. Vegas 28. Gimli (in Manitoba, Canada, check it out) 29. Thunderhill Thunderschleife 30. Belle Isle (Why not a street circuit?) 31. Atlanta 32. Rockingham 33. Rockingham UK 34. Dover 35. Martinsville 36. Homestead (two segments, one on the oval, the other on the full road course [or maybe keep the three-stage format for this race, and run one on the layout the FIA GT Championship used in 2010])

Michigan 500 17. Chicago (Night) 400 18. Iowa 400 (Night) 19. Daytona 400 (Night) 20. Montreal 21. New Hampshire 300 22. Pocono 500 23. Kansas 400 24. Bristol (Night) 500 25. Brickyard 400 26. Darlington 500 Round 1 27. Charlotte (Oval) 500 28. Dover 400 29. Richmond (Night) 400 Round 2 30. Talladega 500 31. Gateway (Night) 500 32. Martinsville 500 Round 3 33. Sonoma 34. Phoenix 500k 35. Atlanta 500 Final 4 36. Homestead Here we have new races at Milwaukee, Iowa, and Montreal. Also, Gateway, flat track at night, first time in the schedule. Also, 1.5 mile but arguably the best one Atlanta. Put it back near the end of the year and the only time they go to Atlanta. Therefore, 4 of the final 6 races are tracks the series is going to for the first time and one is a road course.

I like your idea. I would love to see Memphis or Nashville host a NASCAR Cup race and it would be considered home to me since I’m only 90 miles from Memphis and Nashville. And I want to see NASCAR go to different tracks because year after year after year it gets boring going to the same tracks. And maybe NASCAR could add another race week. And maybe Daytona could get a 3rd race and it be in the playoffs so you would have 2 super-speedways in the playoffs. And I think most of the tracks in the playoffs could rotate around for the championship race depending on weather. Say one year it could stay at Homestead. Next year Daytona, next Phoenix, next Charlotte, next Talladega, and so on. It would be nice to see Talladega or Daytona host a championship race because like you were talking earlier this year about guys waiting too late at Talladega to make a move, I feel if they are racing for more they are going to want to make moves earlier and it would cause better racing. You could see a last lap pass for the championship win or see them make a move and wreck and lose the championship. It would be more intense. And the All-Star race could either stay at Charlotte or rotate to Texas or Atlanta but keep restrictor plates.

You completely screwed Kansas, take 1 race away and put the race in the middle of summer? When it's hot as balls. Kansas draws better than a lot of places and shouldn't get screwed like that

We need to get the Nashville Fairgrounds track on the NASCAR schedule again somehow. It is a great short-track and I'm pretty sure it would actually be the oldest track on the schedule if it was put back on the schedule. NASCAR used to race there in years past so that's another reason why it would be a good addition. Obviously it doesn't hold as many spectators as many tracks do but perhaps more seats can be built. It's a nice thought, anyway. I'm not talking about the abandoned 1.5 mile long Nashville Superspeedway (despite the fact that the Superspeedway is also a cool track and it would be cool to see that track in use again.) I'm talking about the old Nashville Fairgrounds race-track...the old short-track.

Sounds good. One thing I would like to see is races being added to the season. Back in the old days they raced 50 plus times in a season. I think adding a night race at one of those sell short tracks in the middle of the week would bring back more eyes to the sport. If properly televised anyway. Less sporting competition on Thursday then on Sunday.

From the Detroit area's point of view, having one race at MIS and another on a Belle Isle road course would be a FANTASTIC idea. I really wish NASCAR, the city, and whoever owns MIS now (I'm too lazy to see which corp owns it) would come together and work on a plan to make this happen.
@andrewromanski3903

Brandon Xavier MIS is a ISC track. It would be a fantastic Idea and would boost Detroit’s Economy, but here is the real issue. I think Belle Isle’s street course is not large enough for cup cars. I don’t think there are enough pit stalls.

I like this idea a lot, maybe I would change homestead, maybe not I'm not sure. But the main difference I would make, I'm being a little frisky here.. would be open the season with the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte, with the All Star Race the week before (yes weather could be tricky but go for broke). Now gonna get a bit more crazy here. Where we took away the Coca Cola 600 on Memorial Day, replace it with the Daytona 500. Have The Clash the week before, and a Daytona roval race the week before that, possibly. Indy car pretty much dedicates a month to their biggest most prestigious race, why not NASCAR? Also the three biggest motorsports would have their absolute biggest race all on the same day. It would take a lot of work, but I believe it's worth a shot, and if not then maybe just a thought, it would be crazy.

Really liking these ideas. Specifically the all-star race being a rotating venue. Reminds of IROC. Not so sure about rotating the final race. Always was a fan of the fact that the series both started and ended in Florida. But you are right. We need more tracks and more diversity to keep things from getting stale.

Barry Lindsey I would cut the schedule down to 34 point races and take a race date from every track that has two race dates including Daytona and Talladega and get rid of the All-Star race and the Clash and give those dates to race tracks that don't have a date currently. Tracks like: Pikes Peak, Gateway, COTA, Road America, Nashville Superspeedway, Mid-Ohio, Canadian Tire, Memphis, and Iowa. I would also bring back Rockingham and North Wilkesboro, these two tracks helped get NASCAR where it is today and the racing was really good, they should have never left. The only way I would add a 35th points race would be in the Seattle or Portland area, since that area doesn't have a suitable racetrack yet. The drivers and crews could get another 3 to 4 weekends off a year, which they really need. If sponsors still want the All-Star race and the Clash, run them on a Tuesday or Wednesday night in primetime on the weeks of the Daytona 500 and Coke 600. Here's what my 2018 schedule would have been: Feb. 18 Daytona Feb.25 Phoenix Mar.4 California Mar.11 Las Vegas Mar.18 Sonoma Mar.25. Memphis Apr.1 Easter- Off Weekend Apr.8 Rockingham Apr.15 COTA Apr.22 North Wilkesboro Apr.28 Gateway (night) May5 Nashville (night) May 13 Off Weekend May19 Iowa (night) May27 Charlotte (night) June 3 Mid-Ohio June 9 Kentucky (night) June 17 Off Weekend June 24 Road America July 1 Chicagoland (night) July 8 New Hampshire July 15 Off Weekend July 22 Off Weekend (or Seattle/Portland race July 29 Canadian Tire Aug.5 Pikes Peak Aug.12 Pocono Aug.19 Michigan Aug.26 Off Weekend Sep.2 Darlington (night) Sep.9 Indianapolis NASCAR Playoffs Sep.15 Richmond (night) Sep.23 Watkins Glen Sep.29 Bristol (night) elimination race Oct.7 Dover Oct.13 Kansas (night) Oct.21 Martinsville elimination race Oct.27 Atlanta (night) Nov.3 Texas (night) Nov.11 Talladega elimination race Nov.18 Homestead-Miami championship race

I’m all for this schedule. I’ve been watching NASCAR for about 14 years and the schedule has pretty much been the same. I have no problem with the other playoff format. I just think it would be more exciting if we saw different tracks for those final 10 races year after year.

I really like what you did with this new schedule. Although the only thing I'd change with an opertunity like this is, really tray and spread out the Championship to all corners of the Country. I would have new tracks like Memphis, Iowa, Rockingham, Pikes Peak, Nashville, Nashville Superspeedway, and Texas World Speedway. In terms of road courses, I'd add Road America and Mid-Ohio to the calender along with Watkins Glen and Sanoma. Also a Cup race in Canada and Mexico would also be great as both countries have their own supporting series and have a pretty big fanbase as well.

Memphis raceway actually wants the xfinity and trucks on the schedule soon. The track president said the they been in talk with NASCAR about how they can get back on the schedule for those two series. I'm really happy about that because the trucks and xfinity schedules need to be unique again. Get them away from some of the cup tracks and send them to Kern county, evergreen, Toledo and etc. I hope it happens real soon. 3 new tracks I wanna see to the cup schedule is Long Beach, Sebring, and Iowa. Take them to Iowa twice. Tracks that can lose a date is Michigan, Texas, Pocono, and Kentucky.

I like some concepts here, and I would very much like a schedule mix up. Including some more, new short tracks and more road courses. But overall I would cut the season to like 26-30 races, and try to eliminate 2nd race dates from all tracks so every track only gets one event.

They also should do this put a line in the middle of the backstretch that they can race to for a caution but if there is a wreak on the back then u race around to the front stretch that would eliminate that problem you would have enough time to slow down to get around instead of going all the way back around u go to the line on the back if there is a line on the front then u race back to that it both eliminates the caution lights problem and it eliminates the old problem that they had with racing back to the line
